Attended by over 200,000 last year, the Festival has grown from eight cities to ten cities in 2009 and emphasizes environmental volunteerism in solidarity with the new administration's "call to service."

Across the U.S. on Earth Day Weekend, Green Apple volunteer projects in parks, beaches, schools and forests, will focus on climate change solutions like tree planting, energy efficiency retrofits, water protection, urban gardens and forest restoration. Produced with leading environmental organizations, city parks and recreation departments, the activities address current challenges and will help get important work done. Suitable for individuals of all ages, including children and families, these activities encourage active lifestyles, while connecting volunteers with green products and solutions.

Things to do this weekend.....Go to DC see moe. and listen to the smart people who know how F'ed we are if we all don't start acting responsibly in our daily lives. If you litter, I will find you and give it back to you. Decrease your carbon footprint. Give a $hit. It's easy and the alternitive is a discrace.

I agree with Corey and Megusta. Lips are stale, rely on a fancy show to get respect but have minimal musical talent. Actually, they have some good songs, but they just suck live. I'd rather sit and listen to a few of their songs at home with a strobe light on than waste my time at one of their shows.

moe. is greater in every way

It will be interesting to see what kind of show the lips do. Its hard to see them playing an earth day festival with all the confetti and baloons and trash. but lips, moe, and lobos for free? Too good to be true, probably just gonna get rained out and canceled like last year

spreadred, all the shows are free. it seems like green apple will be throwing the best earth day celebrations for years to come. i wish i had heard about this earlier so i could plan on going to dc. i also wish i didn't show up last year right as the show was being canned due to rain.

Yeah don't know if I would put the LIPS in front of moe. At camp last year the Lips show was so weak I actually left half way through it. Even though they had some nude dancers

Crafty, they don't even play all of their songs. It's no longer a musical act but more of a play, and it's getting old.

mesaxi - why would you take the time to try and convince someone NOT to like a band they are into ? this makes no sense.

anyway, on topic, the Flaming Lips are bitchin. Wayne Coyne is brilliant and I wanna make out with Shes Crafty during Free Radicals.

fantastic freaks unite!
