not that i'm going or anything, but ouch, $50 (not counting ticketbastard fees) really stings after that show a week ago where i guess tickets were $20? seriously, bands with high ticket prices, no matter what, will always seem out of touch to me, even more so in such a shitty global economy.

i indeed loved greenday when i was about ten years old, since then theyve turned into one of the worst mainstream bullshit commercial acts in existence these days (and theres plenty of them). I must add that i was fucking stupid when i was ten

i see everyone is hating on all the anti-green day comments, but i sure don't see a lot of "green day is fuckin awesome, i'll pay that any day comments". if you are giving all the negs. a thumbs down at least say something to defend your band. oh wait, thats because we are right and they blow, especially today. I might of liked them too back before i recognized what good music is...and it doesn't always have to be jammy to be good, but these guys certainly are not good.

Bullshit, McDankenstein. You don't speak for everyone. I, for one, am fine with the Boss. U2 and Green Day not so much, but you leave Springsteen out of this.

why are you going to tell jambase what you don't want them to cover?

I know there are things that they cover that you haven't heard of or don't give a shit about...you haven't seen something and been like who the hell is this band? please...

"seriously, bands with high ticket prices, no matter what, will always seem out of touch to me, even more so in such a shitty global economy."

Like The Dead and Phish?

"and we definitely don't like u2 or the boss."

Yeah, I mean those guys are just in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I mean why would anybody want to read about them. Nevermind the fact that they are rock n roll royalty.

As far as Jambase sucking because they choose to cover things like this, do yourself a favor and don't read it. I am not a Greenday fan, but applaud Jambase for having open eyes, and paying attention to things happening in the music industry. Especially since both Greenday pieces relate to Jambase's hometown.

...Be nice to see them play a small venue again next to the fact they usually play U2-like stadiums (I think they busted out fireworks at AT&T last time they played the Bay)... $49 is expected, but with the late notice it would have been very punk to throw an ol' skool $20 ticket...

What the fuck is wrong with you people?

If you hate Green Day so damned much, and the first two words of an article are "Green" and "Day", what do you think you should do? Click on it? No, you do the same thing I do when I see "Disco Biscuits"..go to a different article!!! Do you have so much time to kill that you HAVE to read every article on Jambase?

How can you possibly get upset about a show listing? Or a review?

There are headlines for a reason. So you don't waste your time reading shit you don't care about. Because people have different opinions about things, a fact which many jamheads have a hard time understanding.

Now, I don't particularly like Green Day, and that's ok. It's ok if you don't either. But shut the fuck up.

The "slogan" or whatever of Jambase is "Go See Live Music." What is this article about? An opportunity to see live music. The slogan is not "Suck Trey's Cock While Jerry Watches"

I was really surprised and disappointed when I first found out so many years ago how closed-minded jam fans can be, and Jambase comment threads have only proven this again and again.

Grow up, you fucking moe.rons.

While I notice the sarcasm in your post McDankenstein, I think that exact same thought has passed through the minds of many people on this site. Only in a serious way.

djschusta: I don't take it personally. I don't like them either. But I am sick of this ^^^

Word, Bass. The problem with the "they fucking suck" comments is that they are immature, unproductive, and irrelevant. If everyone commented on their preference for each band discussed on JamBase (which they do), then we would know that at least 4 people hate every musical piece JamBase talks about. And it does me a hell of a lot of good to know that djschusta, or anybody else doesn't like Green Day (or Bruce or Radiohead, et. al.). If someone wants to be interesting and give a logical explanation for why they don't prefer a certain group's music, go for it. But this "they suck balls" shit is straight out of junior high school. And if I wanted junior high school, I'd carry a lunchbox around, make fun of the girl I like, and crack my voice when I talk.

Grow up.

^ Actually I was making a point; not literally writing that "green day fucking sucks." No matter how hard we whine, someone is always going to write something negative with no substance to back it up. I personally would rather skim through those and maybe have a slight chuckle and get straight to the posts with substance. Instead we are not only reading the negative comments, but the same tired posts about how negative and lame they are.

Of course I am not helping either here; I know that! But I also think it is funny to get you guys all riled up. Perhaps if there was no reaction, people would stop. We all thrive on attention. Get real dude.

HILARIOUS! This site is so funny now--it's like a music haters club! Seriously, what is the average age here--10? I work a block from the Fox and can't wait to get in there tomorrow night. So keep the hate flowin jambasers--that should help ease the ticket hassle.

My bias against Green Day aside (which I have SO much of), I actually have a reasonable complaint against this article. Jambase is supposed to be a website devoted to live music and artists who specialize in live performances. However, I remember seeing an article in the newspaper during their last tour about how EVERY SINGLE SHOW WAS EXACTLY THE SAME, word for word, note for note. Remembering the fact that they don't take improvisational solos, each song was exactly the same and each show had the same set list.

I don't know why Jambase would going against their purpose and write about Green Day in any manner. It just doesn't make any sense.

The reason people are so annoyed is because Jambase caters to a pretty small audience. If you read most of the articles, it is centered around the same genres of music. It is understandable that people would be angry that Jambase would suddenly feel that Green Day fits into that genre. People are obviously just stating their disapproval with the fact that this site would post these articles.

There's no need to snap back at them for it.

If you go to Green Day's website it says they are playing Red Rocks on July 30th, 31st, Aug. 1st, and 2nd. Opening for some band they didn't say. Can't wait though, sounds like fun.

Holy heck!! I want to poop in my hand and throw it at you like a monkey!

I'm not that old (29), but i remember when punk shows started charging 5 bucks at the door and that was outrageous.

Now 20 bucks is old school? good god, my kids are screwed!
