Man thats kickass. Id love to see who headlines Sunday. I find it strange that the Crowes and Panic decided to do this and not Allgood. Maybe ill have to leave Saturday night allgood to get to this. Depending on a bunch of variables. Has anyone ever been here, you know what the fest is all about outside thw ebsite?

I live in Louisville and have been the last two years. It has always been very small and mainly is about alternate, eco living and so forth. The music side was more of an after thought. This is the first year with more than one real fest band (last year Disco Biscuits) and definitely nothing on this scale. Venue is really pretty small and is downtown right next to the river. At least with last year's set up, more than 3 or 4 thousand could get crowded?

MMJ played the Riverfront last year and it was a smoking show. Louisville does a good job of not admitting that it is in Kentucky. That is, it's the only cool city in that state. Should be a great weekend. On a side note, a year ago I sounded like Finkle regarding Umph. Thank god for the old guy that I camped next to at Roth last year. He convinced me that you could do more to expand your musical horizon and I have. Umph throws down. Beware of falling for the trap of "If ain't the headiest, then it ain't worth it".

good for you man. finkle just doesn't like umph's because he doesn't know how to dance to music that isn't in 4/4.. he'll learn.. they all learn..

So sick! This thing is blowing up...

2 nights of Panic, Crowes, Umph, Yonder, ZPZ looking good, but we need some bluegrass! Last year they had Del, why not the Dr., or Cornmeal or even some RRE?

I totally agree with Valcom2. I spend quite a bit of time in Louisville, and I went to this fest in 06 and 07. This venue is so sick! Right in the middle of downtown and overlooking the river. It's really more of an urban park that gets taken over for the weekend. There are two stages, a main and a rather small side stage. This place can't hold more than 5k, so I'm thinking it's definitely going to sell out. They are are really steppin up their game this year on the music, and I hope the environment and activism is still alive at the core.

MFGOOF, don't be so quick to judge KY brother, i live in Lexington and we have a good scene here too. There is alot of small cities here in the Ky that have their own thing going for them....Bowling Green, Lexington, Murry and Louisville all have good scenes. Wish i could go to this, the week after Roth and i doubt i can get off work again so soon. Have fun everyone.

Forecastle, also spelled fo'c's'le (pronounced /'fo?ks?l/), originally meant the upper deck of a sailing ship, forward of the foremast. The syncope of the word is common among nautical terms due to the nature of their pronunciation during the age of sail by sailors with strong accents and varying language skills.

just in case anyone cared.

Fore·cas·tle (f'ok_sol) n. ~ A superstructure at the bow of a ship where the crew is housed. Hard at work in the boundless blue sea, a place where workers gather after a hard day of labor. A place where the people come together.

Their website says it a little better.

wow finkle, you sound like you're 6... take your ball and go home then. i've seen a bad umphrey's show before, and i've also seen them put on two of the best shows i've ever heard. i'm definitely not going to write them off for not killing it every single time. also, keith moseley does not suck, and forecastle is looking really good.
