the whole scalping situation is ridiculous and its kind of disappointing that the band has not said/done anything at all about it. they are fucking phish man, the highest grossing touring act of the 90's. They should be able to run their own ticketing. I think they should team up with Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, radiohead and a few other big names to counter the ticketmaster SCAM... but that will never happen :/

Screw all the haters, Phish isnt playing your balpark because your team isn't good enough, your fans aren't loyal enough, and you don't have anywhere near the tradition the Sox have. Watch out for a "Sweet Caroline" to start the second set. Totally cliche and pretty cheesy, but oh so sweet.

i think its time for the meadowlands, rich stadium, 3 rivers, rfk, soldier field, no?? otherwise people are going to get shut out. very few of my friends got tickets. it would take care of ticket agencys and scalpers.

I like that they keep adding dates, but I can't get tickets for anything... really disappointing. Can't really get pissed at the band for that - its not their fault that they're that popular. But so many of us have been waiting for this, and apparently most of us are getting screwed for tickets. How does that work?

someone asked about the stage set up...when i saw dave at fenway he was in the corner of center and right, with part of the stage in front of the green monster and the other half in front of the center field wall. the whole field had metal mini staging to hold up all the seats on the field. i had a seat right behind the third base wall, some of best seats iv ever had in fenway, but of course not for a sox game. i had seats the first night in the grandstands under the boxes, so we were sheltered from the weather and kind of inside, but the view was un-obscured. real fun to see a show there, and do some things that wuld never fly during a sox game ;-)

now all we need to complete this tour is a Phish festiv in georgetown, tx...??!?! Please be true

So my homies saw the Stones there a few years ago, and listen, I love Fenway. I love Boston and the Red Sox, but this is not the place to see Phish this summer. The venue is a strict as it gets. Beers are mad expensive, and there's no room to move. For us 413, 781, and 617 folks, we will stick to atleast Greatwoods and SPAC.

Sicky. If they have a fest in Tx and not in Vt or Me that would be a huge slap in the face. New England doesn't ever have any good festivals other than tiny local band freedom fests...

Hey Phish: play some new material, break some ground again, and at least take 5 minutes and learn a few more covers; busting out The Beatles covers again in Hampton was weak. My cousin said he got kicked out within 20 min at the police show for underage drinking. And some of his friends got booted for other stuff. Never been there but security at some of these places sounds sketchy.

btw is this seated only? or to they have some sort of ga field tickets? Ive never been to a show at a stadium. It would suck if they didnt have the field open, i mean everybody has had problems getting tickets, now there playing a big enough place that real phans can get tickets.

getting caught drinking underage is probably the msot blatant of offenses, being as you can see the person drinking without a wristband easily..so its obvious that youd get caught. Ive been to fenway many of times and have never thought the security was tough.

i got tickets to hampton and to darien lake on my first try both times, at face value. i also think that Phish is now destined to play bigger venues to really end this ticket issue, such as fenway park. i also believe that the Grateful Dead grossed more ticket sales in the 1990's, playing venues that were 50,000-80,000 at every stop of their summer tours, like Rich, RFK, Giants, and 3 River Stadiums. How many people can Phenway hold? not just the seats, but the field too?

This wont sell out quickly. Toyota Park holds 10-15k less and it took forever. The hype is dying down and scalpers are going to lose money on some of these summer shows (Darien, HArtford, Knoxville, Shoreline, Burgettstown). I hope they keep playing smaller venues. And yes I got shut out of Fox and Red Rocks but will be there. If your supposed to be there, you will be there. Wait 6 months and Phish wont even be selling out amphitheaters (ie summer 2003). Just show up on tour and there will be people to help you out (I scored many many tix for summer and some will be miracled).

All right here is how it is at FENWAY, i know several security guys, here's the scoop. Outfield is covered and is open for floor tickets. THere is seating arround all the grandstands. and the roof i'm guessing. i'm guessing 45000 people .if you look at a pic of fenway there are two garage doors in center. the stage will be just right of themfacing home plate. I don't know how much of the bleachers will be open, i don't remember from other shows i've been. Beers $7.25. And NO Parking lot scene. Don't be stupid and bring a pipe with you, the security guys will be strict after two nights of dave, i bet. pack some j's. BE 21+. any more questions just ask.

At the highest point to the right of the bud deck is the silver aluminum bleacher called the "Conigliaro Seats." these are general admission at concerts and they are an awesome place to watch from w/ much access to the back of the roof decks and the bud deck stairs where a lil' riff raff goes on at fenway shows.

When I saw the Police there it was July and the humidity was crazy, up on the Conigliaro Bleachers there is always a nice breeze because of the elevation, sound is good and sight is perfect. As I said, previously at Fenway shows, this is open to any one who wants to enter.

this will be sick if i actually get tickets, i have been 0-5 so far, when will phish recognize that they need a better ticketing system. it is obvious not all headz are getting tickets, me = none, fockers. i have never been denied through phish's lottery, make some changes for all the phans. i saw them through the nineties hitting their peak with never this much trouble, common phish help a brother out

Sounds interesting...I don't know though, might not be the most enjoyable venue (based on the security and location and whatnot) but it should be a good time. Also, I dont want to hear anymore crap about a Texas Phish fest. Theyre ending their tour in New England, so I would say there's a significantly better chance they'll do a VT, Upstate NY, ME fest if they do a fest at all.

mainejam brings up an excellent point about security at and around fenway. It is by no means a 'smoke' friendly environment. I know that MA just decriminalized herb this past january, but there are still strict laws about public consumption. I know from personal experience that security people in boston take their jobs way way too seriously and have no qualms about reigning down on people's parade. I saw an umph mcgee show at the avalon, which is right across the street from fenway like two years ago. Security at the avalon went out their way to harass and be dickheads to anyone the pleased. I was standing outside on the designated 'smoking' porch and they were still hasseling and bothering people. Some douchebag security guy tried to steal my nugs. He was like 'give it to me or leave', so i just left. Fuck that! the douche just wanted to steal my shit. I'm sure security at fenway will be overbearing. Especially after two days of them dealing with Dave Matthews Band sorority girls trying to act smooth. By the time phish plays they will be in full on asshole mode. I'm almost sure of it. Not saying there will be rpoblems, but just be careful...it's not gonna be like being in a field in the middle of the everglades on indian lands. It's gonna be in one of boston;s most historic landmarks, one that would cause a mega chaud douchefuck security guy to be even more douchetastic.

I still don't think they will let that happen on lansdowne. Fenway is outdoors so can they really stop people from smoking when they are sitting down in their seats??? Has anybody been to one of the Dave shows at Fenway?? Will they harass you even in your seat about smoking?

^to answer you question: yes! fenway park is a non smoking venue. They toss people out for cigs. Use your head. Don't be flashy. I have seen the Rolling Stones and DMB at Fenway - I was sitting in the behind home for rolling stones and people were passing around joints like candy. I was on the floor for DMB and was so blacked out made it to front row center with out any problems at all. take it as you may.

Yo check it out. Pots been DECRIMINALIZED in massachusetts. If you have less than an ounce for the show then all they can do is give you a hundred dollar fine. No fooling. MA is the best state in the union right now. Cali may have the dispensaries but we got the laws to protect the people. I don't even know if they could leagally make you leave the show...if you happen to be law expert whip that one out. Don't sweat it just don't be stupid.
