Go See Live Music!
ultra hyphe, want to go. next year.
if there was ever a good time and place for a natural dissaster
wow k234orchestra ur a piece of shit
I kid cause I love, mostly
i'd like to hang with that dude perish. he knows whats up.
wasn't he in Labyrinth?
not sure, though i do find it funny that some dude in an afro/funk/soul band is hating on people who like dance music.
Hey it looks like paris hilton.
My favorite part of this festival: The main stage was an hour behind the first day, and they had a strict midnight curfew. So when I went to the main stage to see Bloc Party, I found out they were cancelled. The next act? The Black Eyed Peas. So I thought "Okay, Benny Benassi doesn't go on until 9, this'll be a good laugh'. It was a good laugh, but when LMFAO came out to perform "I'm in Miami Bitch" with The Peas, I definitely danced the hardest I did the whole weekend. The best sets I saw were Pendulum and Swedish House Mafia the first day, and on the second day the entire Moby > MSTRKRFT > Prodigy > Deadmau5 > Simian Mobile Disco run was nothing short of epic.
Is Kieth Flint's tattoo a girl snorting lines off a mushroom? Wow, I guess they like to party.
Please cover more of this stuff jambase!!!!!!
P.S. Your picture titled "L.A. Riots" is actually a picture of "Surkin" (who will be at Coachella ;-)
damn man looks like a party, can't believe i missed this for the tropical mpls weather
i agree more of this would suit me well. There needs to be more campout electronic music festivals in the u.s. does anybody know of any. The one i knew is gone...
jfk420 There is a big one in Detroit every year, Lightning in A Bottle, Emerge N See, Nelson's Ledges is hosting a jamtronica festival, as well as camp zoe, Camp Bisco, BURNING MAN, etc. Do your research and HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
the picture titled dj dan is definitly not dj dan
thats pretty much it for south beach.
nothing there but dj dance disco !@#$%
I walked all over that damn area trying to find at least a reggae, or latin club.. No dice.
very pretentious place. very very.
lots of the most bad ass cars you will ever see in one place tho.
all of those bitches are hot.
Here's your IT department, here's your IT department on molly. Any questions?
^--- HA!!! now thats funny.
this festival is actually pretty cool, i went in 2001, it is definitely more interesting then an indie rock fest.
if nothing but bright lights and thumping bass makes good music then this fest would be heaven. unfortunately it's a bunch of djs pushing buttong on their laptops wishing they were musicians
So, there must be enough drugs in Miami to make this music good.
Or at least enough drugs to make MS. EASY look doable. I guess you have to be easy and around a bunch of drug addicts if you look like her and want to score. Looks like a crack-head raver.
Looks like my kind of party.
There are enough drugs in Miami to make a Disco Biscuits concert good!
they should rename the fest "Lowest common denominator"
I thnink if they threw in a few jamtronica acts they could maybe turn some people in south florida onto the scene a little. Bisco could play... but they'd have to and I say this with love... not sing so much and kinda stick to their electronica jams.... throw in lotus and the new deal and you'd be in business.... Maybe Id even actually go
bassnectar should play something like ultra to draw the jam scene!
nobody from the jam scene WANTS to go to a techno fest. Why are you talking about acts to draw people in
no jam at ultra please.. or any LA raves.. keep them sperate
some of the rips on this fest are hilarious...a good place for a disaster, enough drugs to make bisco good....classic....the pictures are funny too because everyone looks like they are rolling BALLS!.....and jfk420 if you want to go to a good show, open up garage band and throw in some synth sounds and loop it for an hour, throw on the itunes visualizer and crank the volume.....this, hopefuly, will turn you away from this brainwashing shwag ass music
you know different people have different musical tastes right? And that stating your musical taste as some kind of fact makes you an asshole? Did you know that?
Sorry electronic music is not for you. Kind of pathetic that you read an article and all the comments about a type of music you don't like.
nice photos, looks like a fun fest
I'm not an electronica fan, but I respect it, except for Disco Biscuits, those guys sound like a high school talent show contestant. I like a lot more of the jazz-blend stuff like Bonobo or Skalpel, those guys can definitely mix some good shit together and make it sound like a full blown band playing. Also if this is electronica where's DJ Sasha, isn't he like the biggest in the world. Oh well, I'm with Deadpig, those women are wicked hot!
Thats a lot of button pushing right there.
UNTZ! UNTZ!! UNTZ!!!
they def do.... dude... brownie plays that 20/20 soundsystem on his show on sirius all the time.... alot of the jamtronica acts would love to play this and rage in miami
the funny part is, I dont really like jamtronica all that much and I dont like true techno at all... it was just a suggestion
Sorry, I didn't mean to give the impression that I was ripping on Miami/Ultra. Miami rules (the only city I love more is Austin), Ultra is a ton of fun if you do it right, and the women truly are drop dead gorgeous (and fun) - and that alone makes this experience worth it. Bisco still sucks though ;-)
BT is the shit, I'd love to see him live...
Also, where's Infected Mushroom, Sasha, Van Buuren???
Amazing Festival.. Great weather, great music, and most amazing light shows I have ever seen in my life.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnAOzBTK5gI
^ dude, that video is awful and those lights hurt just watching from my computer. Lasers are for custies
and the BISCUITS crush all of these junior varsity DJ's
This article is under "show reviews" but there is no actually review, just a bunch of average photos..
lots of great electronic reviews @ www.thescenefiend.com . They are giving away MSTRKRFT tix right now.
