Listen to Neil Young's New Album Fork In The Road For Free Now

This coming Tuesday, April 7, Neil Young will release his new album Fork In The Road. But lucky for you, Young is streaming the entire album for free at www.myspace.com/neilyoung.

This will be Young's 33rd album, and like much of his most recent material, it deals with our dependence on oil and his passion for a car that runs on alternative energy (he owns one and is helping finance and find an affordable way to produce such cars).

You can pre-order Fork in the Road here.

"it deals with our dependence on oil and his passion for a car that runs on alternative energy"

i feel like they shoulda used a different vid, maybe one without a gas guzzling stretch limo, considering neils "passion"

"Cough up them bucks" paints a picture as to how money just flows.............." Like a rushing river of money and these overpaid and priced pricks that have tons of it to cough up and thats all they do, nothing has a value to it, I got it so I'll just cough up the bucks. If its money you need, don't worry I can cough up the bucks, cough up the bucks. Its just money.

Neil, The Band, and Rush...three rock solid gifts from our neighbors to the north. I'll never forgive them for Celine Dion though.

I realize JamBase has a somewhat younger demographic than other sites, but come on - talking shit about Neil Young? Really? Dude is EASILY one of the greatest of all time and only Dylan has managed to stay as relevant. This vid/song - it's parody. I know some of you don't know what that means, but Neil's whole album is about a new type of car, America's greed - hence the limo - get it? and only has 10 good albums, gimme a break. Here's a list of amazing Neil Young albums (and these don't include CSNY): Neil Young (1969 debut), Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush, Harvest, Time Fades, On the Beach, Tonight's the Night, Zuma, Comes a Time, Rust Never Sleeps, Live Rust, Re-ac-tor, Trans, Old Ways, This Note's for You, Freedom, Ragged Glory, Arc [live], Weld [live], Harvest Moon, Unplugged [live], Sleeps with Angels, Mirror Ball, Year of the Horse [live], Road Rock, Vol. 1: Friends & Relatives [live], Prairie Wind, Live at the Fillmore East, Live at Massey Hall 1971... they don't get better than Young, don't make yourself look a fool...

i dont think any1 was talking shit about neil, i do believe however that people were stating their opinions about how they feel about the new cd.

i never said neil was bad, and we are NOT counting all the LIVE albums, we are talking about studio here. and yes, the video (and song)suck imo. just because your neil young and you shit in a cup doesnt mean we gotta like it(everytime) because your neil young, and you wanna see a disaster??? go rent "neil young live in berlin" holy crap thats the worst thing ive ever witnessed with my eyes. so yes neil young is awesome, but also YES neil young has made SOME BAD MUSIC

"Live in Berlin" was aweful. So is this song but the message being conveyed is top notch.

mimiluv, Just a guess, but Neil sitting in a limo might be a little tongue in cheek. Did you also question his creativity? 10 great albums? Wow. Have you heard the other 23 or ever seen him live? If you have I really wonder why you would question his creativity and/or integrity.

lovemusical, i have seen neil plenty of times, the video here sucks and i dont like the song, whats your beef? my opinion? and please, how long did it take them to think of that video? you trying to tell me that was creative? or a 5 minute idea? or is it just becasue his name is neil young he can do no wrong? i saw his last show at msg and altho i had a great time , he coudla not played about 8 songs and the show woulda been better imo, you got a beef with that too? go rent live in berlin

I'd rather listen to Neil Young's "shit in a cup" than the best of modern over produced digitized "music" Of course his videos and albums are technically low quality, that's the point. He's raw roots music. I don't have any beef with your opinion of him. People have different tastes. But, I think he has way more than 10 good albums and he's been consistant at it for over 40 years. That's creative talent.

Its as simple as this. With Neil you every once in a while take the bad with all the good he has done. He's going to put out records like this because he's Neil Young and he can. He doesn't give a S#$hit and thats what makes him great. He's one of my favorite artists and I'll check out anything he does. I saw his last tour and when these songs were played I did find them pretty bad and boring but It didn't take away from the other awesomeness of the show. For every album like this he's make 5 great ones so I'll deal with it.

People who think of videos as an art form are probably the same people who think Cabbage Patch Dolls are a revolutionary form of soft sculpture.

I actually like the album, but thats no surprise. Neil has always been one of my favorites. Unfortunately, Cough up the Bucks is probably the worst of the 8 on the website. But its just like the other stuff he's done lately. He's not the kind of guy to spend months working on an album, let alone a single vocal track like most other bands these days. Most of the Album is raw and stripped way down. Bob Dylan recently said he cant even listen to any mainstream music because its so over-produced. This album is not in that category. Check out "Light a Candle" with its great message: Stop bitching about the mess that were in, and start doing something about it". Rock on Neil, cant wait for #'s 34, 35, and 36. If you're lucky enough to be in the elevator going up, make sure you send it back down to help out those not so fortunate...

Neil Young always has and always will do whatever the fuck he wants. If he only made albums like Harvest or only like Tonight's the Night he would have faded long ago. The song isn't that great but the message it sends is now more important then ever.

I would bet that a percentage of those on Jambase, who endlessly talk of "selling out", "mainstream", "the old stuff is better" etc would have danced to Touch of Grey as Jerry sang it live...hmmm...come now...don't be afraid...there are some of you that danced to a band called "Cheese"...

some jam band kids forget thay not everyone is making music with the intenet of blowing your mind. some people, like Neil, have something to say, and have a sense of humor. but it's all up to the listener, so I'm not saying you are wrong that you think this sucks. it's pretty funny and dude obviously does not care what people think about him, which is pretty cool I think

i guess im gunna have to have a different opinion than most here and say i thoroughly enjoyed this song!! great and relevant song. cant wait to hear the whole cd, especially if people dont think this is "one of the zingers". the video is cool too, very funny. at least neil is being nice and not forcing us to "cough up the bucks" for this cd. thanks neil, your the man.
