Zach Deputy's Tour Truck Stolen

The following is taken from Zach Deputy's website verbatim:

Zach Deputy
On Friday the 13th, at about 10:40pm, Zach Deputy had his tour truck with all of his gear and equipment stolen from a La Qunita parking lot in Paramus, NJ. Zach performs more than 250 shows per year throughout the Eastern United States and Canada, and is on the road about 300 days a year, thus all of his clothing and every other item one can imagine for his personal life was also in the truck. Zach was on his way to a recording studio in Woodstock, NY at the time, and - in addition to the instruments and electronic gear needed to perform and record this record - many tracks that had been previously recorded were in the computer he lost in the theft. These had been backed up, but over the last 2 weeks since the backup many changes and edits had been made. Despite the loss, Zach rented a car on Saturday afternoon and performed that night in Woodstock on a borrowed guitar through a borrowed sound system. It was his first ever solo acoustic show, but as they say, "the show must go on." The hard drive with the previously recorded tracks is being overnighted from his home in South Carolina, and his management, the studio and local musicians in Woodstock are now scrambling to pull together the items needed to record the record.

The total loss, including the truck, is in excess of $85,000, and at this time it looks like nearly all of the losses (other the truck) will not be covered by his insurance.

Zach has maintained his characteristic positive attitude throughout this setback. The show he played on Saturday was magical, and he is focused on making a great record. Zach will not cancel any dates - he knows there are fans looking forward to the shows and he wants to play for his fans.

Finally, we want to thank each and every one of you for all the amazing support. If we could high-five all of you right now, we totally would. Can't wait to see you at show, and thanks again!

~ ZD Deputies

Karma will catch up to whomever did this, it always does... unless it was a politician; but as far as I know they are still focused on stealing tax dollars and haven't stooped this low yet. And come on NJ, the last thing you need is more bad PR.

what a trooper. some shitty crackhead probably kept stoned for day or two and is off to stealing other people's hard earned possessions. I'm sure there is a special place in hell for thieves who steal musicians gear where they are serenaded nonstop by Sha na na.

This makes the $1,200 pedalboard I had stolen last fall seem like nothing. My heart goes out to you Zach...I know how it feels to be violated regarding something I am also passionate about.

That blows, I've never heard of Zach Deputy but it certainly sounds like an interesting deal. Perhaps someone should put together a paypal donation deal to re-equip ZD.

Zach is an amazing musician and an even better person. I strongly suggest seeing him play to become deputized if you get a chance, and I will definately be contributing to help Zach out.

i feel really bad for him, but am i the only one who thinks its INSANE to have that much gear and not have it insured?? i know local musicians who live in crappy apartments, and drive shit-boxes and still have their gear insured.

That fuct-up. Good guy. Hope he can still make it to Asheville for earthday, the south is starting to show him some love. I was in France when Kid Koala's records got stolen(which eventually were returned), thought that was a huge loss. This is rediculus. Maybe he can get sponsored somehow for new equipment. I wouldn't call him a sell-out for putting a big Coca-cola add on the side of his next RV.

OH and BTW FUCK insurance companies, dealing with them not paying me that kinda loot, too. My house burned down that very same day, and pretty close to the same time. Something needs to be done, insurance is the biggest ponzi scheme ever.

Sorry for the rant, hope everything works out.
