BASSIST PARTS WAYS WITH BAND
Potter & Dondero by Dave Vann |
In a statement on their website on Wednesday, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals announced the departure of bassist Bryan Dondero and the cancellation of a trio of shows scheduled for late March.
The statement reads:
We want to apologize for the unfortunate cancellation of the trio of shows scheduled for the end of March (Revolution Hall, 8x10, and Mr. Small's). GPN and bassist Bryan Dondero have recently parted ways. Bryan is an important part of the band’s growth over these last five years, and he will be missed and not easily replaced. We thank everyone for understanding and look forward to playing for you this summer.
The shows were set for March 25 (Revolution Hall in Troy, NY), March 26 (8x10 in Baltimore, MD) and March 27 (Mr. Small's Theatre in Millvale, PA). The next scheduled show for Grace and the Nocturnals is now May 16 at the Doheny Blues Festival in Dana Point, CA.
Here's a double shot of the band cooking on all burners. Give a special listen to Bryan's full-bodied, powerful bass work on these clips and raise a glass to the parting Nocturnal.
