CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX TO TOUR US
200 TONS OF BAD LUCK OUT APRIL 14 ON INVADA RECORDS
Crippled Black Phoenix will be embarking on a US tour this month in support of their new album 200 Tons of Bad Luck out on April 14. Geoff Barrow of Portishead will release 200 Tons of Bad Luck on his own Invada Records.
| Crippled Black Phoenix|
Crippled Black Phoenix have re-grouped and spent the best part of a year recording 200 Tons of Bad Luck. Although not strictly a concept recording, the thoughts and moods of founding member Justin Greaves re-occur throughout and link the songs in a film-like way. Once again, Crippled Black Phoenix crafted the songs at Geoff Barrow's State Of Art Studio. The band is made up this time of Joe Volk (Gonga), Dominic Aitchison (Mogwai), Kostas Panagiotou (Pantheist) and Charlotte Nicholls.
The end result will no doubt have folks scrambling for descriptives, and in the midst of the relative chaos, Crippled Black Phoenix will be oblivious to it all. Again giving you 200 tons of music that will immerse you if you let it – and you will be rewarded. Think of the album as the moment when your life flashes before your eyes just before the inevitable conclusion.
