"Could Phish be gigging at Fenway? Neither Live Nation nor the band's rep would confirm it yesterday, but there's a lot of online chatter about a possible Phish fest at Fenway. The band, which is about to head out on the road for the first time in five years, is slated to kick things off at Jones Beach in New York June 4 and 5, followed by a show at the Comcast Center June 6. But we're hearing that Trey Anastasio, et al., may be bound for Boston May 31, which is the night after the Dave Matthews Band wraps up its two-night stand at the ballpark."

Further, Phish is being managed my DMB's management team these days, at least, to the best of my knowledge, that is the case. They could simply use the DMB stage - leave it in place.

I love how other than the last four shows the venues are very spread out (just like the first set of dates), this should cut down on the trashy lot kids that tend to follow them around. Now its more suited for the real fans who come out for the music.

Not to sure about the Fenway rumors, but as it relates to DMB, here is Pittsburgh Phish plays 6/18, DMB plays 6/19 and 6/20. Rumors have been swirling around here about Dave playing at the Phish show. We all know they have played together before. So I guess its a possibility.

Actually, myfriend, myfriend the Devore Ap. in devore, ca is the biggest outdoor ampitheater. It was a venue designed and made for the U.S. fest 82; when the dead and van halen and all other great bands (of the time) played and I believe it now holds 25,000 just in seats and another 30,000-40,000 on the lawn. I used to live very close to the venue and i can tell you that the area was also a site selected as a back-up to Big Cypress for the millenium show. You'll find me rocky mountain high at redrocks -gorge

NYE at MSG is great and I know I'm biased since I live in South Florida. But, isn't Miami a better destination for the middle of winter? If they play 3-4 nights, that's a vacation. In Miami you can hang at the beach all day and you don't need to lug a jacket to the shows.

Red Rocks and the whole summer tour is going to incredible but I'm not going to pay over $200 a ticket for from a scalper! Im so glad i went to Hampton but Im not going to bend over again. After Hampton, I could only imagine what the under covers and security is goin to be like at all these places. Wish there was a better a solution....

I would love to see them announce their own fest to take place after Saratoga. Considering how they first announced and sold off the tix to the first part of the summer then announced the second, it's possible they would wait to announce the fest. Maybe this has to do with their new management. Personally my plans are set and I wouldn't of been able to do any of these added show because of work and other obligations. I'm just wondering how many people made plans/bought tix and are now kicking themselves because they would rather go to Red Rocks or the Gorge. If they announce a fest after all these tix have been sold the same thing could happen all over again.

My brother thinks there is some sort of signicance (upcoming festival announcement???) to the location of the 09 in the flash video on the web site. He did some investigation and found that the location of that picture is in a large grassy plain area, northeast of a little town in Texas called Georgetown. It looks to be prime for a festival. After watching the video, I think he may be on to something. Especially since there are no Texas shows scheduled. Why else would they do this? Some sort of hint??? It would be hot but you wouldn't have to worry about rain and land conditions like those of IT and Coventry.

If you've never been to red rocks, you're not missing much. terrible, ugly scenery, no history, mean staff, bad sound. Gorge is much better. Heard alpine valley's pretty dope too.

As far as the Fenway rumors go, the next Sox home game isn't until 6/5 so a 5/31 show would be feasible. Think of the logistics: Fenway makes money, Phish makes money, livenation/ticketbastard makes money, Phish practices close to the venue, I'm guessing at least one of 'em is a sox fan being a NE band and all... Even if they don't play a concert I'd love to see them sing the national anthem at Fenway this year.

sweet, pretty much a full tour. i hope trey steps up his guitar playing before this summer though, very sloppy at the hampton shows. that probably won't go over well with a lot of people but its true. put in any show from the 90s and compare the guitar work to the recent shows. its not even close, i don't know what his deal is.

Red Rocks is really, really going to suck

yeah turkey, red rocks always sucks. Not a good place to travel to see a show at all. Denver cops suck, and marijuana possession in CO carries a 25 year mandatory minimum. The lots crawl with undercovers. Once you're in, the vibe is weak, and the sound sucks. Not at all worth the 15 mile hike necessary to get in. Plus, those rocks are just so old. Just a dirty looking place.

Everyone whose upset that phish isnt coming to their region, try being a phish phan in Canada. the closest phish show i can go to at all is in Darien Lake, which is a good 7 hour drive. Not only is there no prospect of phish EVER comming here, theres also no prospect of ANY jam band coming here. I saw moe. once in Ottawa and YMSB once in Toronto, nothing other than new deal. Be happy, phish is together and they WILL at some point play a venue thats close to you.

I dunno where the fenway rumors are coming from but fenway usually just does one show a year, having already booked DMB for 2 shows. Also they are May 29th and 30th I believe, so theyre definitely not gonna host Phish the next night, pretty much destroying the playing field for the Red Sox who are prolly on a roadtrip and returning a few days later... would be cool tho. I love the newbies dissin' Trey's licks and comparing them to the 90's. the 90's alone are subdivided into eras even at that! Long live the newbie... Trey's guitar playing was exceptionally better than phish 2.0 and TAB by FAR. the fact that they could nail a Fluff ALONE tells a devoted Phish fan where they are at. Page is obviously the MVP of the wknd, we ALL know that, and I was impressed by Trey's vocals! He wasn't speaking his lyrics as he is known to do, and actually slooowed down a lot of lyrics as well. Cactus and Fish are on point as always. This band is NOT going to be PHISH 94, 97, or even 99. It's an evolving band, they've been exposed to more on their "break," Page's solo, Trey has gone through A LOT off stage, Fish has been Yonderin, and Mike is ALWAYS on point. Phish Summer 09 --- I'm expecting LOTS of early 90's antics, more SONGS to setlists rather than jamming (as was tried and failed in 2.0), and more OUTRIGHT QUALITY THAN QUANTITY. That's what this band has been lacking. Peace!

First of all, there will be more dates this summer/fall. Phish at the Hollywood Bowl and Halloween in Vegas is set. Southern dates are coming. A festival in Central Texas? It's called the Austin City Limits Fest in September.(But there is plenty of open space north of Austin/Georgetown) I do find it funny that a band doesn't tour for a while but when they do come back and they don't play in your backyard you whine like a second grader that didn't get picked for kickball. I live in SoCal. I've been a phan for over twenty years. I want to see Phish. I didn't due well in the previous lottery & Livenation Phuckphest. So, what do I do? I go to Bonnaroo. It's not my first choice and it's not the most convienent way to go, but neither was Big Cyprus or Coventry. We're Phans, that's what we do. Life is too short to search out blogs to whine on. I, one, am glad that Phish is touring at all. Let us all have a great summer.

Hilarious how some folks are trying to paint a negative picture of Red Rocks. Having played the venue on several occassions over the years I can personally attest it has the best sound and ambience of any venue in the country. Greek Theater and Madison Square Garden may have incredible fans but when it comes to the complete picture Red Rocks wins hands down. With that being said, since Phish was banned the last go round I would not be surprised to see the lots crawling with both uniform and undercover cops. If you get caught peddling drugs you could wind up in some serious trouble. If you get caught smoking weed its a $36 ticket in Colorado. I think Red Rocks may take their cue from Hampton so for those of you that are lucky enough to secure tickets I would be a little more discreet at this show that other Red Rock shows. Psychedelics and weed make for a great experience but can be a complete bummer if you spend your trip sitting in jail. Be careful, have fun and enjoy the shows. I'll see you all there.

Phish will not be playing at Austin City Limits and that piece of land they zoomed into is not where ACL is located. ACL's Headliners will be DMB, Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon. If Phish were to have a festival, it wont matter where they have it bc the city will make so much $$$ that the cops and whatever authorities will be lax. I went to Hampton, hit the lot each day as the gate opened and witnessed a lot of the undercovers shady wrok. They were very noticeable and the same people each day. It is funny how people on here think the cops in TX are so strict, very wrong...I went to UT in Austin and have lived in Houston multiple times for years. Given the state of the economy, cities should be begging for the them to have their own festival. Think about how much $$ Manchester makes from B-roo? All I know is that im not going to buy from a scalper again to go to any of these shows, im so glad I made it to Hampton!

09-09-09 is a Wednesday. They may do a end of summer festie, but I doubt that it would start on a Wednesday.

last time was summer of '96 and they had outgrown Red Rocks but figured if they played a 4 night run it would work. There were so many people on tour that the small town outside the venue (Morrison) was overrun with ticketless fans. I'm not sure exactly what happened or if it involved tour rats or just drunken kids, but the incident caused them to be banned from the venue.

If it wasn't for "newbies" your scene would just grow old and die. Sorry I was in elementary school when Phish was peaking in the mid 90's. I love Phish, but can't stand phans.

As someone who wasnt able to catch phish back then but loves the band, i made my first show down in Hampton. Sunday night, fantastic, but the WHOLE WEEKEND WAS FANTASTIC (minus getting arrested for small amt of pot at my campsite?)

Got Chicago tix, which means I'll be selling my Alpine ones since I can only afford one show this summer.... and Grateful Red do you really believe everything wikipedia tells you? Wikipedia the site that can be edited by anyone? According to my Pharmer's Almanac vol. 5 copyright 1998 Alpine Valley, at that time, had a max capacity of 34,639. Also, if you google "alpine valley music capacity" you get 5 different answers on the first page ranging from 30,000 - 50,000. Personally, I believe the almanac is the more reliable source. You should always take anything you read on wikipedia with a grain of salt.
