Legendary Jam Band Rusted Root Releases Album Early For Charity

Rusted Root
In an effort to raise awareness and support for their favorite hometown charity, Rusted Root announced today the early release of their new album, Stereo Rodeo, as part of Amie Street’s Download To Make A Difference campaign.

The band, known for their high-energy, all-night live performances, is also making the single "Dance In The Middle" available to download for free HERE.

For one week only, Amie Street will donate 10 cents for every free download to Grow Pittsburgh, an organization aiming to model, teach, and facilitate sustainable urban agriculture within the Pittsburgh region.

Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root says that "We really want to help our local community of Pittsburgh and Amie street provided us an opportunity to do just that by supporting Grow Pittsburgh with an early release of this song."

The exclusive premiere of Stereo Rodeo marks the seventh major release in Amie Street's Download To Make A Difference campaign, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Food Bank for New York City, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, and other organizations in the past six months.

Rusted Root Rocks and this is a GREAT thing there doing...I saw them at the House of Blues in Chicago a month or so ago and they kicked ass!!! The band was dead on and his voice was as good as ever...I'm not a huge fan just a huge fan of music...

I was once a Rusted Root Head. In the early 90's they had a tribal grove that would have your body sore the next day from dancing. For you history they opened for the Dead in 95 Pittsburgh show and rocked the stadium fairly well. They then did not continue the flame of writing more music and concentrated on radio fame. Shame they could of been a Jam band house hold name.

Amazing!!! As soon as you think you've heard it all, somebody says that "Rusted Root Sucks" and they seem so sure of it.

Rusted Root is fantastic...but to each his own.

I don't care what this Navin prick says, cause these guys are the shit. Of course I'm from NY and now live in AZ, which has the worst music scene next to Fargo, ND and I was suprised to see these guys to a packed crowd whom all were getting down into the TRIBAL GROOVE! I'm interested in hearing their new material. Granted that the material has been a little weak in the recent years, but they still can put on one hell of a show...

I'd like to get that lead singer guy alone in a room with nothing but a metal pipe and a jar of mayonnaise. See how he hollers then..

Anyone who posts on JAMBASE that "Rusted Root Sucks" is a complete idiot.

I've seen root maybe six times since 2002 all about a year apart, everytime they seem to play the same set, maybe with a few, very few variations. I've loved every show of theirs I've seen but about one a year does it for me.

This is cool though, go charity!

they really do put on a great show...2 drum sets really kick off the tribal groove.

In the interest of full disclosuer though...they also were the single worst show I have ever seen. Brockport State College in NY around 98 or 99. the dumbasss frat boys at the show were crowd surfing and moshing at the beginning of the show. Root stopped playing about 20 minutes in to tell them to take it easy...about 5 mintes later it all started up again and the band simply dropped instruments and walked off stage. laaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Didnt help that a fried got a possession ticket in the lot before hand eitheer....

Whoever thinks Rusted Root sucks is rediculous. I know everyone has their own likes and dislikes but I went to one of their shows last year and it was awesome. I danced the whole time and the atmosphere of the whole show was just amazing. They really get everyone into the tribal groove. And you've got to be kidding me! Comparing Rusted Root to OAR?!!?! Thats waaaay overboard. OAR is not even comparable to them and to be honest I don't like OAR much at all.

it appears obvious that jambase communit guidelines are not being enforced or follwed. offensive remarks...attacks...come on we are not children...well maybe some are.

to say that something is "gay" is frickin' lame, jambase does not support hate mongering
