FIRST FULL-LENGTH IN THREE YEARS
Grizzly Bear will release Veckatimest on May 26 on Warp Records. The title, pronounced "VECK ah TIMM est," is taken from a small, uninhabited island off the coast of Massachusetts. Some of new songs were captured at Allaire Studios near Woodstock, NY, birthplace to great recent albums from The Black Crowes, My Morning Jacket and many others. The album features string arrangements from Nico Muhly (Bjork, Philip Glass) and vocals from Victoria Legrand (Beach House). This is Grizzly Bear's third album, and their first since 2006's Yellow House.
Currently, the band's live schedule is thin but plans are in the works for a full tour in 2009. The band is already scheduled to play this year's Bonnaroo and Sasquatch festivals.
