GOMEZ ANNOUNCES US SPRING TOUR PLUS THIRD BONNAROO APPEARANCE

Gomez
ATO Records is proud to announce that Gomez will be embarking on a string of spring US dates in support of their soon-to-be released sixth studio album A New Tide. The band will kick off the tour at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, then head up the east coast to play a very special CD release show on March 31 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Appearing on nearly half of the dates will be Josh Ritter, who will be performing with a full band. Please check Gomez's site for full details including a ticket pre-sale that is currently underway.

Additionally, the band will be returning for their third appearance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival this June in Manchester, TN alongside such acts as Beastie Boys, Ben Harper, Wilco, and David Byrne.

In celebration of the upcoming release, fans can get a taste of A New Tide via their official homepage. A free download of "Airstream Driver" is available now at gomeztheband.com. Set for release on March 31, the new album marks a return to the always-freewheeling British band's more experimental roots, with songs like "Win Park Slope" and "Airstream Driver" evincing a spirit born of boundless imagination and a longstanding collaborative relationship.

I wasn't at Rothbury, and they're were some great acts there. . . . . but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me that someone would believe Gomez was one of the best acts there. . . . . their music has went a little downhill but they still kick more ass now than 95 % of the 'rock' bands out there. . . .

no freaking Boston date??? crazy. I have not missed a Gomez tour in years, but I've got Dr. Dog on the 3rd, and moe. on the 4th. Seeing Gomez in western Mass on the 2nd would be a heroic effort, and i'm not sure i'd be up to it. Anyway, hope this new record is better than the last one. Blah.

^^^ hell yeah. Or even "In Our Gun" with it's mix of trippy rock and electronic stuff. Time to get weirder again. I feel like they started to get obsessed with going mainstream or something. Don't force it, and it will come guys.

honestly, i was not expecting a lot from that free track, but it is actually pretty darn decent... decent as fuck, even.
