STS9 Spring Tour/'09 Plans

ELECTRO INSTRUMENTAL WHIZ KIDS
RETURN TO ROAD AND MIX IT UP WITH PREFUSE 73

Sound Tribe Sector 9 have announced a busy first half of 2009, including a Spring Tour in March that brings the band to parts of the West Coast, Midwest and Southeast. Also, STS9's boutique digital record label, 1320 Records, will offer a slate of new releases by Prefuse 73, Count Bass D, Eliot Lipp, Calmer and others, all hand picked by the members of STS9.

First up for 1320 Records in 2009: Prefuse 73 vs STS9 (Megaloid MPC VET Mixxx). For this 7-minute megamix of tracks, beloved producer/DJ Prefuse 73 returns to his roots on the ubiquitous MPC beat machine, offering up the classic Prefuse 73 treatment of new STS9 favorites "Squishface," "Shock Doctrine" and "Metameme." Also new on 1320 Records is Eliot Lipp's Peace Love Weed 3D (in partnership with Old Tacoma Records), Past is Present by Brooklyn percussionist/composer Collin M Palmer aka Calmer, DubConscious' new release Nonviolent, new material by Lowpro Lounge collective's The Flying Skulls and more. Listen to the new 1320 Music Player - a "showcase" streaming full tracks of choice selections from the label's catalog, as well as live STS9 and 1320 podcasts.

crazyleggedelbow....your drugs must have been bunk. and the biscuits sucks if you haven't eaten anything (sometimes still suck even if you have). Not sure what planet you're from.

as for some Summer Camp love, STS9 would be welcome with open arms once again. Come to the chilli illi this summer!!!!!!!

Another LATE breaking news story by jambase. I love you guys, but do you have day jobs other than jambase? Seriously, this should be your main job, and if you were going to sts9 website or facebook you would've known about this for a long time... good try though.

while PA sets were quite the treat, it'll sure be nice to see tribe return to full instrumentation. would love to see some northeast dates but this tour only goes up until March. plenty of time. and Oh_mander, if you bought your tix off tribe's site, i wouldn't worry about it. they can take a while to be sent out. i bought Red Rocks tickets last year like 5 months in advance and they didn't come until maybe 2 weeks before the show or so. you should be good.

Def way old news. (just to add in with everyone else, why not). I got all 3 nights at GA theatre, and as a matter of fact, all 3 nights sold out like 2 weeks ago, thats how old the news is.

Also, just to say. STS9 shows for me are ALL about the music, I do feel bad if it's not like that for anyone else, you def shouldn't be at sold out shows as you got someone's ticket that wouldve rather been there. They're so fucking sick to me. I Love them Love them Love them.

All you kids are the problem. Go ask an old school Grateful Dead fan about the scene in the 80's. We all partied. Then came the mid-90's and the youth movement came on board. All of a sudden it became about "how fucked up can I get today and how many people do I need to rip off with bunk drugs to get my ticket" The same kids that are bitching on this topic are the same ones that ruined the jam band scene as a whole.

Here is a tip. Do your own thing and keep it to yourself. Stop drawing attention to the drug thing, it only makes things worse for us that know how to party and keep it on the down low.

the scene is at times a little bunk. sts9's repertoire of great music is unbelievable, its the best around imo. but they dont always pick the great stuff..they're mixing in a few too many "button pushers"

still no other band i'd rather see right now

STS9 is boring. I've seen them enough to know. It's nothing more than tape loops, samples with a small amount of live musicianship and a great light show for everyone who's sooo high they can't tell the difference between a great band and STS9. All their tunes end up being mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh, mmmpfh. Freekin boring. The scene is lame too. I'd rather go see Cubensis and day of the week over these guys.
