EOTO's Non-Stop Dance Tour

EOTO
The left coast duo EOTO is heading back out on the road with their unique brand of breakbeat/Glitch-hop and house. The non-stop dance party begins this February with west coast dates already announced and east coast dates on the horizon. Leaving no stone un-turned, this could quite possibly be the year of EOTO.

Consisting of one third of the progressive jam sextet, The String Cheese Incident, the joint venture between Jason Hann and Michael Travis is a fresh, 100% improvised collaboration of live instrumentation and digital mixing.

In the world of EOTO, nothing is pre-recorded, nothing is pre-looped and no set is pre-planned. Each show transports the listener to a unique time and place, providing an unmatched sonic dance experience night in and night out. Inspired by legendary DJs and mix artists of the world, the duo combines cutting-edge technology with live instrumental performance to create truly original and melodic dance music in the moment. Merging hypnotic rhythms, pounding bass, and mesmerizing melodies, EOTO's sonic assault is certainly the forefront of an emerging musical movement.

What's striking about an EOTO performance versus those of their mix forefathers is that because nothing is pre-recorded, there is no setlist or specific plan to where the music will take the listener (or the band for that matter). This modern symphonic freedom ensures that with each night the sound can only morph into something bigger, something greater then the whole, for both the band and the fans. This inspiration is what keeps the duo out night after night, literally on the hunt for a new sound, in a new era.

Performing in roles completely different than the ones in SCI, Jason Hann keeps the crowds moving. Covering percussion, layering eclectic-glitchy samples, live auxiliary re-mixing, as well as the playing drum kit, Hann provides the rhythmic backbone for all things EOTO. Adding blissful and edgy tonal ambience is the multi-talented Michael Travis. Blending bass, guitar, keyboards and hand percussion, as well as live mixing and re-mixing, Travis creates the spacey flavor capturing the listener’s senses. With the raw power of live drums, the music is all created on the spot, recorded, and remixed live, proving no two shows are exactly alike. While completely different from SCI, life-long fans as well as new fans will be drawn to the dance frenzy and originality that is EOTO.

With back-to-back performances spanning the western seaboard and more national dates yet to be announced, EOTO is poised to deliver great advancements to the modern music world.

I wish they would stop by Cincy's Madfrog again, I was out of town last time and heard they raged with all intensities. Last time I saw Michael Travis was with Zilla... I greeted him when he left the stage and he asked me: "Did Cincinnati forget to take their drugs this evening?" It was funny

I get dumber every time I read these bulletin boards. Let's do away with the news and just have royal rumbles. Phish VS Cheese; Newbie VS Veteran; Bonaroo VS cool festivals....

by the way Phish rules; Newbies suck; and Bonaroo is suicide...HAHAH!

I dont see any reason why anyone should be ripping on cheese, its such a low blow. Regardless of whether you enjoy their music or not (and i really cant understand how someone can like phish and not cheese, they tackle all the same styles of music and create an enviroment for music lovers to come together, dance enjoy each others company and appreciate music) they've kept a liberal community of music lovers, alternative thinkers and "positivity" alive more so than any other band throughout the course of the last 8 years, if not longer. Their scene, unlike a lot of the other music communities now a days, has really been more about music, community, and love (as corny as that sounds) than it has been drugs or partying. Furthermore, they rip it! Kang can sound like jerry, trey, grisman, and vaser clemmens all in the same night. Travis with the drums and percussion at the same time, innovating a fusion of house and latin music. Not to mention Kyle Hollingsworth can play whatever the fuck he wants cause he's a genius.

Really one of the most incredible bands ever if you ask me. EOTO kicks ass too.

P.S. If you see them in Urbana, check Zmick out too. They're a kick ass up and coming band that is really fortunate to be playing with such great musicians.

i hate phish bc of people like glassworks, get over yourself, phish is great but it is not the end all be all. EOTO is some great music that i would say is more progressive then anything phish has done since their heyday. Hope we get some NE love from EOTO.

The Post Phish show with Sci-Fi has been cancelled along with all of the shows at the Thomas Nelson Community College that weekend. Guess we'll be hitting the Bassnectar/Orchard Lounge late night set instead at The Norva on March 6

EOTO needs to tour full time with Kimock/Kang/Hollingsworth. The show seems to have a much more psychedelic trip vibe vs. some of the dance party roll shit. I get bored with some of the shit EOTO plays when its just the two of them. Some of it just tends to get repetitive but only sometimes. Basically they need to just keep it dosed out not rolled out if you catch my drift. It all comes back down to the fact that CHEESE NEEDS TO PLAY ON! THEY ARE BY FAR ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS THAT WILL EVER WALK THIS EARTH! PLAY ON BEFORE ITS TOO LATE! please....

I just caught these guys in Flagstaff, AZ and they rocked the Orpheum until the wee hours of Thursday morning. There wasn't a huge turn-out but those of us who did make it partied all night long!!! I couldn't stop dancing the entire time.

A few memorable moments:

There were some kids who brought in a huge stuff unicorn with dreadlocks, they were parading it around to the beat. They sat it on the side of the stage and it kept falling off, so this guy says "it must be thirsty" and let it drink out of my cup of water. LOL

After the first set I got to shake Jason's hand- he seems like a really cool guy. Then I walked outside to listen to a wookie drum circle at the bus-stop. Much love to those guys!

And finally at some point during the second set this shirtless dude jumped up on stage by Travis and was dancing alongside his set-up. It took a minute or two for security to see him and kick him off, but Travis saw him and the look on his face was priceless.

Also, I lost both of my pimpin multi-mode glowsticks during the madness. Hope they lit up someone's night well!

Adamist, I was at that show in flagstaff. Shit was off the hook. I liked how travis petted the dreadicorn haha. I was stuck on the other side of the barrier in the 21 and under section... lame venue. but partied my ass off nonetheless... great show, I was surprised they played 2 sets. shows at the orpheum have been lacking recently, but greyboy allstars rocked it on saturday!

i saw these guys at a ski resort last summer during fat fest in a small town that they shot grumpy/grumpier old men...it was an amazing show i think the highlight was sitting up on top of a ski hill and watching them tear into first tube-phish..i wasnt really into the whole electronic jam but after that show i was hooked
