Don't sleep on Al Green. That man puts on a SHOW! Overall this lineup looks fantastic. Lots of variety and some heavy hitters. Just thinking about the possibility of going from Merle Haggard to Béla Fleck & Toumani Diabate to David Byrne to Phish and then Animal Collective late-night (or any number of equally incredible permutations) has my head spinning. Very nice balance so far. I can't wait to see what is still in store.

havent been to Bonnaroo before. dont know what to think about it - the good, the bad, and the ugly... i think i like the smaller festivals more even though the first 2 years of Vegoose and Rothbury were fun... Langerado last year was pretty weird with the dirt bikes and alligator wrestling...the alligator didnt even want to wrestle...and the guy who was tryin to wrestle it was just yanking his scaly tail

Death to noobs. You are coming off as rude and immature. Weren't we all "noobs" at some point. When you were a noob did someone tell you to f#*k off? I'm guessing not because you probably wouldn't have gone on tour with assholes like that. I would much rather have "noobs" getting turned on to heady music with a good seen than some mass produced product pushing sell-out. Be kind phriend.

It's really sad to see people say Phish is the ONLY band they want to see at this festy. David Byrne? The man who masterminded the band which serves as a gigantic inspiration to the ONLY band you want to see? Open your minds and ears up a bit.

... not to mention Beastie Boys ( I hope they play an instrumental heavy set), Oakenfold, Rod y Gab, Kaki, Mule, I could list off the entire line-up. Too bad the dankest phish of the week is gonna happen before all this starts. Knoxville> Bonnaroo. 3,2,1... GO!!!

Phish, Down, Mars Volta, and Tv on the Radio on the same lineup??? Kickass...I'm still hesitant because I really want to see the schedule. THE MARS VOLTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEASTIE BOYS!!!!!!!! HELL I'M EVEN EXCITED ABOUT NINE INCH NAILS EVEN THO I'VE SEEN EM BEFORE, THEY PUT ON A MEEEEEAAAAN SHOW.

Al Green

Erykah Badu?!?!?! FUCK YEA!

Paul Oakenfold

Ben Harper and Relentless7

The Mars Volta

TV on the Radio

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Girl Talk

Béla Fleck & Toumani Diabate

Rodrigo y Gabriela

Down

Femi Kuti and the Positive Force

I've never heard these acts but I've heard a lot about them... will probably check all or some of these:

Of Montreal

As for the rest of the acts... i've never really heard them... looks like I get a lot of surprises this year on top of my 2 favorite bands.

I have been to a couple bonnaroo's and am one of the many who said they would never go back. after all the years of dave and widespread, and the overall lack of jamband love i had lost favor with this festival. now phish aside, cause i am a huge fan, this lineup is the most amazing lineup of any festival i could ever hope to go see. i will be buying a ticket to this no matter what the cost because this is gonna be monumental. this about all that could happen. bruce on stage with phish. warren on stage with everybody, especially coheed and cambria. paul oakenfold and girl talk so you know we get some sweet late night dj heat. and moe. back at the 'roo. i am giddy right now, for real giddy as a school girl. way to pull it off guys, this looks amazing and i will deal with 80,000 people for this shit.

I'm so pumped about this lineup! The best in years!

Now for all you folks who have been bitchin' and moanin' all this time about "Bonnapoo," saying things like:

"Phish will never play a clusterfuck like that"

"Even if Phish plays, I won't go b/c I'm sure they'll play Rothbury too"

"Bonnaroo sucks and will always suck"

"No lineup will ever get me back there"

"Bonnaroo is too far past their jam roots"

>>>Well, eat your words! Bonnaroo is back, Bonnaroo will be the most badass festival this year, Phish isn't playing any other festival so you better get your tickets Saturday, and they're obviously back to their jam roots while also incorporating a diverse lineup!

I can't wait!! And even if you "Phans" only come to see Phish and bitch the rest of the weekend, that's okay and I'll still love you b/c that's what I bring to Bonnaroo! Maybe my good vibe will kill your bad attitude!

This looks great, I wish I could go but I'm too spent out from Deer Creek and Mountain Jam tickets. Ledhed check out Govt Mule, moe., and Wilco if you like guitar-heavy classic rock sounding bands. Check out Mars Volta if you like tripped out & noisy (King Crimson only crazier). Grace Potter is great to listen to and look at-get there early and get up close. All you guys trashing Springsteen are stupid. Born in the USA and Born To Run we've all heard too many times but he has a lot of great tracks that never get airplay (Atlantic City, Promised Land, etc.) and mixes up setlists. It reminds me of how people were trashing Petty in 06 then Saturday after the show everybody was saying they didn't know he was that good live.2 Phish shows is great but after a late night show the Tennessee June sun is a bitch come sunrise.

This line-up is very solid. They could charge 350 per tix and people would still buy them. Not saying that I would, but a lot would. It was obvious that Phish would be involved with this after the knoxville addition. But damn, I would go without Phish. David Byrne, Beastie Boys, Boss, Wilco, Al Green, etc, etc. This is worth the price. Plus I heard from a source that Rothbury may not be back this year for some reason. Not sure if it is true, just heard it.

Back to their "Jam roots"??? are you serious? Where? Phish? Interesting line-up... yes. Amazing... hardly. Wheres the Funk? There are some gems in there, but there are also about 50 duds that you couldnt tell the difference between when passing from trnt to tent... I was considering it for the 2 nights of Phish, but I will wait for their end of tour extravaganza. Loring AFB please!!! Nice try superfly, but I will not fall for the Jedi mind tricks. Take Phish out of the lineup and then discuss... See how many people are still calling it the best ever... Yeah Floyd... WAKA LOOKS SICK!

I'm not really sure what you're talking about, Lenox. I'd go see the Beastie Boys if they were 75 years old and rapping from hospital beds. Gotta love The Dawg making an appearance. DSO, Claypool, Allmans would be nice additions, as would be my own personal dark horse, Rusted Root.

I guess we'll agree to disagree, Len. But give me Paul's Boutique or Ill Communication and I can chill on those records for hours. And Waka's goot a cool lineup, yes, but comparing the two initial lineups side-by-side, I gotta go with Bonnaroo. I feel like some people are letting bad Roo experiences (big crowds, excessive heat, Kanye, etc...) cloud their judgment. As long as I can scrape together the coin, I'll see you folks down on the farm.

Perhaps even suicide note part 1 into suicide note part 2, and then going right into The Great Southern Trendkill, or go old school with Cemetary Gates. God, I'd go just to see what Phil is like on stage that night. I hope DOWN plays New Orleans Is A Dying Whore, that's another classic tune.

after vowing to never attend that god forsaken wasteland we call bonnaroo, i have no choice after scoring only one show in the lottery: Knoxville... line up kinda weak considering this summer is gonna be of epic proportions... wheres yonder? almans? panic? claypool? boombox? EOTO? Keller? cant miss seeing i will be in knoxville the night before though... and as far as the price you all know your paying for the name not the lineup... this could be a phishless lineup and you would still be paying 250 a pop... why? because EVERYONE knows what bonaroo is.. why? becuase they let turds like metallica and kanye west play it... now people will go back just for the party no matter who is on the bill... its actually funny that someone would pay 250 just to go party on a farm and not care who plays..

My brother said Phish sucks and is never getting back together and I said that he is full of sh*t and doesnt understand that Phish will come back in good time. He was wrong, I was right, and I am now glad I protested Coventry. I went tot he first break up show in 2000 and I did not like my heart being tugged around especially without playing Washington one last time. I just kicked it with a taper from Evergreen and he also taped Donna Keith and David Gans in Seattle. This guy was the coolest oldschool deadhead. Best Bonnaroo lineup yet. Can't wait to make my 8th trip to the farm. Im pretty sure Bruce, Phish, and Beasties are the headliners. NIN will prolly get the Sat late night spot on the second stage like the Lips had. Last time Byrne played he was during the day on the main stage so Im guessing thats what we'll get again... along with Wilco. Al Green prolly Sunday daytime on the 2nd stage. Id love to see Snoop open for Phish their night. If they place Phish at the same time as the mars volta I will be surely bummed but Phish will win out for me. Whats everyone think about Down? Closest thing to Pantera opening for Phish ever. Never thought Id see the day something like that would happen.

you know, aside from the obvious heavy hitters, this line up actually does look really full, diverse, and nice. I've never been to the roo, and have actually spent some time hating on line-ups. There are definitely some bands I would not be interested in seeing on that line up, but some of those names that are a little less recognizable are reaaaal serious, i.e. Vieux Farka Touré, Midnite, and Mr. Booker T Jones - with the drive by truckers i assume? sick... might make my way down there this summer...

SMOKEY- I agree with you about Bonnaroo having to have a HUGE year, but I also still feel that you can thank last summer's Rothbury for having a big influence on that. Roth was king last summer, and Roo had it's worst turnout ever. I like this lineup as a whole(I think it's the best in the past 4 years), but if it didn't have 2 nights of Phish, I think it might be Bonnaroo 08 all over again. Not taking away from some of the other artists, but I think Bruce, NIN, and Beasties would have been a monumental let-down without the 2 nights of phish. ALSO, I wonder if Snoop going over so well at Rothbury last summer had something to do with them booking him(or maybe Kanye's knees still hurt too much from walking thru all those airports).

I'm still confused on how someone who is paying to see 2 Phish shows in differents towns/venues can complain about the price of Bonnaroo. I imagine your tickets were AT LEAST $50 a piece, not to mention hotels, gas, etc. For $240, I get to see 4 days of FANTASTIC MUSIC, lodging included! Not to mention I don't have to drive after partying. I can just stumble back to my tent. And who said only 12 hours of good music? You must have terrible taste in music if you can only find 12 hours out of all those bands. Who are your fav artists? Nickel Back and Hinder?

Also how can the Allman bros not be here after dropping the fest last summer...with a big 40th anniversary summer tour they are for sure coming...they dont bill mountain jam as an exclusive northeast festival appearance for no reason...its because they are playing more festivals outside of the northeast. Thoughts?

If you aren't thrilled about this lineup than just dont post anything anymore..... B-roo is a great fest and they really got this right this year. The addtions will be great, you have to look for people who didnt play last year and look at the list from 2007. Expect Keller, STS9, Railroad Earth, Tea Leaf Green and so to be the additions.

I have to say....Rothbury has big shoes to fill here everyone. Especially after last year. The only thing Roth could do is add Phish to last years lineup.

I passed on B-roo last year and went to roth....this year, i'll most likely be at both! Cant wait for B-roo....

I'm stoked that Phish shows are popping up everywhere, but I've yet to find any ticket for less than $150. I love Phish but it looks like I'm going to have to wait until another tour or a sweet check from Barack till I see them... bummer. Other than that pretty sweet lineup.. NIN is sick live, but I think it would be real weird to see them at roo, but I haven't been in 4 years and the lineups have gotten quite diverse since '05(i.e. tool, kanye west, snoop dogg, the police, and any other headlining acts that aren't really jammy). So I suspect if Rothbury wants to blow roo out of the water this year maybe it should just be packed full... The Dead, Phish, Allman, Panic, Cheese (if only..), that would be outrageous.. it would probably make people go crazy like 2 million would show up just because...

This is going to be a wild and costly touring year... Any poor folk got advice on making it to shows with a very limited budget?

The thing about DOWN is that they're not your average metal band. It's more marijuana influenced jam-metal, with a heavy dose of New Orleans.

And to the moron who was bashing Beasties...seriously? You must not know anything about music. Even if you don't like them, give then respect. They are godfather's of hiphop, and damn good musicians away from them mike. Haven't you heard of the Free Tibet concerts they organized? Beasties are all for postive causes...

ALSO, If Bisco, STS9 and UMPHREYS don't get added, it could be because Rothbury actually offered them late-night headlining spots, whereas with bonnaroo, you might get stuck playing at 3 in the afternoon(and for less money). I heard thru the grapevine that Umph was not too pleased about thier timeslot at the Roo last summer, so if they don't return, I wouldn't be surprised.(plus Bonnaroo likes keeping it fresh with new talent, unless your widespread panic or my morning jacket who have thier own parking spaces at the farm).

MMWish??? really??? well, maybe mmw minus 3/4 of the talent. I love pauls boutique and most of their other stuff, but c'mon... dont compare them to 3 of the best jazz players going...

Rothbury is happening, the promoters already confirmed it (unless they announce it and then Langerado the entire fucking festival, or Vegoose it even). The Dead, DMB, and Panic are heavy favs to headline the mainstage(Petty is rumored as well), late night acts are gonna be Umph, Bisco, STS9, and another rumor that's popped up a few times is Justice. Phish is claiming they are NOT playing any other fests besides Bonnaroo, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that(remember, superfly does outside lands and all points west, both of which I'm sure they would love to have Phish be a part of). And, if Phish truely can't get any insurance company to cover thier own festival, the only leaves them the option of playing other festivals(unless they stop doing fests all together). ANYHOW, BRING ON THE BURY!!!!!

here is my major problem. I do not see enough jam bands. Although I see many fantastic artists lets ditch a few dinos. I mean... Metallica is the shit. They are old but they arent that old. They were in shape, tight, and Hetfield hit and punished every note. But come on, Springsteen? Are these guys really trying to bring all of New Jersey down south? Is this how bad the economy really is? The main headliner is Springsteen? Bonnaroo needs to bring in the yuppies? Bring in the baby boomers who say "I just LOVE born to run!?" Wheres widespread? Wheres Yonder? Wheres MMJ? How about ABB, Trucks, Mule, R Randolph, Lee Boys, STS9? Hell bring in more hipster shit. I dig it. Gimme something like strokes, kaiser chiefs, or the Black Keys. I like a lot of what I see, but I'm concerned about what I don't see. It is however the initial lineup. Gimme some love bonnaroo

I'm not going to bitch about how commercial Bonnaroo has gotten there's been enough of that already, but I'm wondering what kind of collaberations there will be with bands like Phish, Down, Beasties, and NIN sharing a festival. I like these bands, but in thier own setting with thier own crowd. I know that Phish shared the stage with Jay Z one time. Too bad I just got raped on Deer Creek/ Alpine tickets thanks to Livenation's great ticketing system. I'm still gonna try to scrounge money for this one. I'll just have to pack up my gear and lock my van and trip over garbage every time I take a walk as this isn't a jamfest anymore(example; I went to one of the many fests at Rainbow Farm in Michigan years ago and got into a fight with a drunk Pantera fan, witch would be expected at something like Ozzfest, but not at a show with a lineup that includes Phish, Bela Fleck, Moe, etc.) Anyway, I don't agree with the diversity, but it might produce some interesting stage shows and some not so interesting camping and security. I'll most likely see you all there.

I just hate being in the presence of people that don't like the exact same music as I do. I'm with all of you others up here that pointed out what is wrong with the festival-WHY CAN'T THERE JUST BE ONE FESTIVAL THAT IS ALL ABOUT MY MUSICAL TASTES! MEEEEE!!!!!!!! I am so tired of people not realizing that whether a band is good or bad or enjoyable or not is an objective matter. If I think they suck then they suck for everyone and those that listen to them must be lower quality humans than I. It's just like fashion, art, and food - all objective. There are certain people who are right and the others that are WRONG....oh....and believe me.....I will spend my time informing those who are of lower IQ, misinformed, noobies,or washed up knowitalls or weekend warriors or posers, and everyone else who is not like me and whose tastes are different of why they are wrong. This is by far the sickest lineup for Roo to date. Fuckin Phish and Volta, Plus Al Green and Beastie Boys, TVOTR and Snoop! Fuck This is gonna be a badass Fest. No wonder why Langerado is trashed this year. No one in their right mind would go to Miami when a lineup like this is in the makes. Not that they had a chance with Phish and The Dead resurrecting in the same summer. But seriously I am jealous of all you trustafarians that will be able to catch this. I however will not be that sad since I have seen all these bands but Al Green and Snoop. AND I have tix to Deer Creek and Alpine Valley for both nights rounding up my vacation with a three night run of PHISH for their tour ending shows. I'll just have to do without Volta for another year since they are the best thing to hit a studio since Tool. I am a little sad but I'm sure the Boys will dry those tears with some lovely jams that only Phish can provide. Best of luck to all for enduring the hellacious heat of Tennessee in June. I'm sure it will be a blast still. Happy Jamming Phiends. Welcome back Boys. Life hasn't been the same since Aug 15, 2004.

This line up is unbelievable! I love that the uber critical jambase crowd is giving bonnaroo props. Granted this line up is considerably better than prior years (phish alone: 2 shows including late-night, come on!!!), but Bonnaroo is always a great time. Roo has diversified from a jam only festival to the most diverse, eclectic fest on the scene, with a tendency to bring in supergroups to headline (rothbury never got radiohead or the boss) while keeping enough jambands to satisfy the die hard heads. Face it haters, Bonnaroo is the BEST music festival in America and has been for years.

1st Bruce Springsteen is no lamer than any of the other headliners in the past save DMB and maybe Metallica. Of course Phish seals the deal and makes this an amazing Bonnaroo, but without them it is still a good lineup. For all you n00bs with no taste other then the dime-a-dozen jamband scene listen in. How about these for starters: Beastie Boys

David Byrne,Wilco,Al Green, Elvis Costello Solo,Erykah Badu!

The Mars Volta, there is classic country Merle Haggard, critical darlings TV on the radio, Amazing west African artists: Femi Kuti, Vieux Farka Toure, King Sunny Ade and Toumani Diabate! Do you people listen to nything else other than jambands? ok fine to satisfy you there is Mule, galactic and moe. What else do you want? Wakarusa? Please,

nyway Burning Man is the event/large festical worth it...it is more evolved, beyond lineups...but in conclusion this is one of the best Bonnaroos. Just try to open your minds to other types of music, you will be rewarded.

music that popular culture listens to....

you are popular culture...hippie...counter culture is popular culture. Its popular. It is considered "cool" to dress a certain way and listen to certain things and uphold certain beliefs...hippies, metalheads, emo, whatever..... if you are doing something that is tangible or material to separate yourself then chances are you fall into popular culture of some sort. What is not popular culture...how about guys who work on Wall St. and get up at 4:30am in the morning whether they are good or bad...professors at your university who sit in their office all day...single mothers who work three shifts and don't have time or money for "individualizing" themselves. Those people don't fit into a popular culture. That is what is different.

If you have time to notice "trends" and identify other "groups" and how you are different or a more free individual and somehow more enlightened than another type of person.....well....you are part of pop culture.

Definition of MAINSTREAM - "a group of individuals who all share a hatred for what's popular, for no other reason than they heard it was popular, and have such large heads stuck up their asses that they fail to see how their anti-mainstream banter has now become popular, therefore forming an ignorant group of anti-mainstream mainstreamers"

Really, I got that straight from Websters!

I must say, there never seems to be a very large demographic of Reggae bands or fans at these large fests. Steel Pulse Toots, and Burning Spear seem to show up, and thats great. I love them. It just seems that Reggae is perhaps a tad under represented outside of the West Coast at these fests. However, one of the greatest Reggae bands in the world is playing at the Roo: Midnite. I'm sure plenty of you have heard them. If not, definitly check them out. Let's bring more Irie vibes to the fests!

For all who were fans of the first few 'roos, 10klf & Waka are where it's at for '09. Phish & Byrne are awesome, but you're seeing them on tour right before and after anyway. Waka has a great lineup and 10klf has 40 more bands to add to a very solid start. And how about a high of 78 in 10klf vs. 108 in TN!

For those holding out for Roth, it ain't happening this year so we'll see you in MN!

LT - you need to shut the fuck up... your words are a jumbled mess of meaningless dribble. NIN and Bruce are amazing, pull your head out of Brownstein's ass and take a whiff of common sense. Umphrey's covering "Closer" during their NYE run was dope, and I've heard keller cover "Born to Run". But who cares who covers it, I just thought that's what you based your musical tastes on, what band-members listen to. I'd be willing to bet one of your musical heroes is rocking "Born to Run" or "pretty hate machine" on their iPODs. Do me a favor, keep the mouth shut. And also, why do you hate Umphrey's? Is it because they're better than Bisco?

Your definition of mainstream is a little off on music LT, and I do agree with shanky that artists that you like cover "mainstream" musicians have gotten a lot of their influence from these headliners that you see on here. Bisco covers Pink Floyd; would you consider them "mainstream" You should open up a little bit and not listen to the music that you consider "mainstream" and check out some of the innovators/acts in this festival.

sorry shanky95 don't agree. bruce springsteen is far from amazing, in my freakin opinion. i wasn't saying he sucks to everyone and SHOULD suck to everybody. i just think he's purdy terrible. same with NIN. don't like that kind of music, never will. sorry that my musical taste doesn't include hard rock and springsteen. and how is my definition on mainstream off? i said that it is music that popular culture listens to, which is true. i just said that there is some mainstream shit that sucks, IN MY OPINION, once again. you people need to open up to other people's opinions instead of telling me to open up to music i already know FROM EXPERIENCE i don't like. that's fine if a band i listen to or even one of my best friends loves the boss; however, on the contrary, i f'n don't, OK? get over it shanky. and umphrey's all around is not that great of a band. seen ONE good umphrey's show out of like 7 of their shows i've been too. same with moe. seen one good moe. show out of like 6. bisco, however, always throws down. and why the f*** would you think i base my musical taste on what band members listen to? i base my taste on what i like... gah, get a freakin clue dude. you make no sense whatsoever.

mikemac. never said i didn't listen to some mainstream music, actually specified shitty mainstream. there are MANY bands i listen to that are considered mainstream actually. go back and look at everything i said before opposing my argument please.

Much better lineup than last year. I'm still hoping to see Umphrey's, Bisco, Ween, DSO, Les Claypool, and North Mississippi All Stars added and maybe a few more electronica acts, but oh well. It's obviously not the same festival it used to be, but a more diverse lineup and audience isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't think that Bruce or Beastie fans will detract from the vibe like Metallica did last year, it will still be an amazing festival as long as the vibe stays cool.

looks like everyone has sumthin to say about this huh? well im gunna throw in my two cents...even though im from around boston, and i have been having terrible luck at the past few festi's iv gone to, they made this a little too tempting. Bruce is my mom's god pretty much, but Nine Inch Nails may be the one to put it over the top for me. i could copy and paste half the list to be like ooo these guys kick ass these guys will be awesome blah blah blah. my fav roo moment was being there for tool in 07 n watchin all the sissy's on psychedelics freak out at tools visuals (maggot man, anyone?) Hopefully Nine Inch Nails will have a creep out effect on all those peace loving pricks who neglect the dark side of life. Im all for galactic, moe, the mule, phish...but its the metal in me that might jus make the stars align and get me to tennessee once more. now all they need is to allow scooters or sum other form of transportation cuz i drop like at least 5 lbs each roo jus from wandering the fields in search of music and fun. and maybe if the people in the medical tent would stop assuming everyone is overdosing that comes in. they were pricks to my friend who caught a nasty stomach bug on the trip down and needed to be flown home. Roo is always an incredible journey though, and as long as i got the financials and the friends, count me in :-D

Jimmy - "sissy's on psychedelics" and "peace loving pricks"? Thats exactly the type of attitude that could ruin Roo this year even more so than a few iffy bands. If people want to "neglect the dark side of life" as you so eloquently put it, let them. Please don't come to roo looking to shit on and make fun of all the hippy kids for feeling differently about life or listening to different music. Roo should be an "incredible journey", just as you said, and there's no reason why it can't be one for the hippies on acid and the people looking for Bruce or NIN as well.

I was planning on Coachella, just to see Paul McCartney, Morrisey, and the Cure, but fuck that...Bonnaroo looks like the sickest line-up. NIN did it for me, with two nights of PHISH, along with David Byrne and Beastie Boys...Jesus the list goes on and i'm sure theres gonna be more to sign up. This is the best news of 09, I was gonna tour with the Dead, but FUCK that! After touring with NIN last year, they are the ACT to see at this festie and to have the VOLTA and AL GREEN along with it is gonna be a rockin good time. Especially being cheaper than Coachella, I mean the Fuckin Killers are headlining, now that's just a shame. Even though the Boss is headlining one night at this festival, I don't care, it's the same thing every year; grabbing an old burn out act to headline, like when Tom Petty headlined all the festivals. I'm sorry, but Bruce sucked at the Superbowl, his voice is shot and his new album blows, for Christ sake, he's fuckin whistling. It's gonna be a fun festival and I'm sure tickets will sell out faster than you can say BONNAROO!

TO ALL THE PEOPLE BITCHING ABOUT THIS FESTIVAL BEING MAINSTREAM,

what the hell does that even mean. i dont see fall out boy, rihanna, lil wayne, panic at the disco, the fray. its absurd (LT) when people bitch about that. Do you not like the beatles or there separate careers, bob dylan, any motown, bb king, jackson browne, led zepplin, pink floyd, all the classic rock bands you hold so high in your musical library WERE ALL FUCKING MAINSTREAM. even the grateful dead had a major cult following, everyone knew who they were. If you so hate mainstream why arent your favorite bands atomic rooster, caraven, camel, canned heat, and all the other bands that never had a mass media following.

seriously why the hell are all you haters bringing down this forum. i used to enjoy coming here and reading how people were pumped about shows and stuff or even the opinions on things that could be better. who wastes there time telling other people they are dumb for attending events that they enjoy and that their favorite artists suck. Seriously the boss sucks???? what is wrong with people have people even listened to any of his songs other than the famous poppy ones. the things people say, no wonder we dont have peace with all the intolerance and ignorance that can be seen over fucking musical tastes....

LT - you're extremely negative. that's exactly the issue here. (bad attitude). if you enjoyed 04 and another year and had a blast - how do you know you'll "not be down" with this year if you don't experience it? who cares if theres some shitty bands, that's why there's MULTIPLE STAGES AND TENTS with many different bands playing simultanous all day n such. you can choose what you wanna see. and your whole "Mainstream" theory is completely flawed..just because bands have a huge following of fans, that's not their fault. don't blame them for bringing joy to people. if you don't like a band, don't listen to them or see them! it's that simple...anyway... Again, because I do not want this information buried in a shitload of comments--DO NOT SPEED OR EVEN GO THROUGH GILES COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

Add the Dead and Ween. That would make this the best roo ever!

Ween late night.. If anyone going has not seen Mars Volta yet DO NOT MISS IT. If the devil made a playlist they would be on it for sure. Crazy, spooky, brilliant and insanely rocking!

Bruce Springsteen? Didn't the superbowl performance blow enough to convince some people that he's out of his prime (and running out of time at that)? Mainstream headliners. Disappointing

Awesome. Most every band I'd like to see. Too bad it's at a place I will never go back to. Worst place ever to go to a festival, if you like enjoying a festival. Bite me MTV. (Funny having a fest worker tell you, "But this is the standard for festivals in Norway.") Guess what asshole this fest held in the US, DOUCHE BAG!!!!

Oh, sorry to all the people that like festivals for the music. I go to the festivals strictly based on who is playing, but i decide if i want to go based on atmosphere and bunkaroo has a bad one.

I didnt think there was some specific setting for festivals but for me and my little opinion this place is alot of fun. I thought festivals were what you make you of it ultimately but thats just me. This lineup has alot to offer for the newbies and the old alike which usually strikes a damn good time. Cant wait to see you guys on the farm for the third time.
