Split Lip Rayfield Tour CO

Split Lip Rayfield to Play Colorado Mountain Tour in February
Dates with Railroad Earth To Follow

Split Lip Rayfield
For the first-time ever, Split Lip Rayfield (SLR) will play live in Durango and Aspen, CO, kicking off a week-long mountain tour. The high-octane trio from Kansas will make their debut in Durango on February 2. From there, they'll blaze a trail through the state with stops in Aspen, Boulder, Fort Collins, Breckenridge, and Denver.

Following their tour of Colorado, SLR will link up with Railroad Earth for a string of shows (all dates below).

The band continues to celebrate their new album, I'll Be Around, released at the end of 2008. The new album is a true testament to their skillful songwriting, resounding harmonies, and unwavering synergy. Mike Penard from France Radio stated, "The new CD is just another testimony of their huge talent. Musically and vocally it is a real pleasure."

It is also burning up the charts. Up from #15 last month, Split Lip's new album, I'll Be Around, climbed to #4 on the Freeform Americana Roots (FAR) Chart compiled by 3rd Coast Music Magazine.

Split Lip Rayfield is Wayne Gottstine on mandolin/guitar/vocals, Eric Mardis on banjo/guitar/vocals, and Jeff Eaton on vocals and the original, "stitchgiver" gas-tank bass. Not easily described, but always loved, SLR carved out a unique genre noted in the past as bluegrass-with-an-edge.

Their 14-year history is scarred with success, loss, and renewal. Their future path will forever uphold the memory of their fallen teammate Kirk Rundstrom, whose impact on the band and legacy is great.

SLR is the shit.

I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys bluegrass/slamgrass

along the lines of Yonder, Old Crow, Railroad Earth...in other words

Split Lip Rayfield is completely worth your time.

A good starter is the album "Never Make it Home"

Unfortunately, these guys aren't anywhere near me, if you're in CO,

you will be doing yoursalf a favor by checking these guys out.
