It is with deep sadness that we must inform you of a serious car accident that occurred early in the morning of Saturday October 20th.
As members of the MOFRO band (including lead singer JJ Grey and his wife, keyboard player Nathan, and road manager Ken) were returning home after the first gig of their tour in Jacksonville, FL, their car was struck from behind at high speed. Their vehicle flipped three to four times ejecting all in the car, and all involved were hospitalized with a range of injuries.
Obviously, we are all currently focused on supporting a full recovery.
JJ is now out of the hospital, he has severe back pain but is on his feet. Ken is also out and recovering. Nathan suffered a broken hip and broken collarbone, but will recover. JJ's wife suffered the most severe injuries and is currently in intensive care; however her prognosis is good.
We are sorry to say that all tour plans are cancelled. We understand that many of you have made plans to see the band on this tour; the band hopes to resume their touring early next year.
More updates will be posted here as soon as we hear more news. In the
meantime, our prayers are with the band and their friends in this tragic time.
Friends, fans and all well-wishers can send messages of condolence to
mofro@mofro.net.
