wow great write up......(fart noise), bisco gets a few page write up, as do many other bands, and these guys do a 4night run, with tons of late night amazing acts and this is the only crap we get, way to go jambase let me down again...

Check it and learn that a laptop was meant for downloading WIDESPREAD PANIC shows and NOT for sampling licks and sounds to be played over slick beats n' basslines. One day..you will all learn it.

yea umph just got a photo review as well. and bisco had a 5 night run, so say what you will about the review they got, but MMJ got a photo and written review, that's just bullshit and unfair.

There was an EHM after Hubble to end the second set.

I was there the first night and man what a party. It wasn't nearly as fun with out the Panic crowd, but you win some you lose some. Ricky4207 Im not sure what you mean by NO2 not being out of hand... there were 3 tanks next to my car for like an hour after the show. It got pretty weird.

yea that first night was crazy with ppl fishing out all over the place, and the cops busted the place and stuff.

i went all 4 nights. was a blast. cant wait to do it again next year.

Wow its great to see that again. 30th was the best night though. so sick. Lets go somewhere else for new years next year. its been 4 or 5 years in a row at the tabby. who's for somewhere warm like Florida?

Actually, this show was great! Loved the fake guitar jams and when they pressed buttons on a computer I was like..."Wow! even a monkey couldn't do that!". The part where the drummer covered his drums in cheezewiz and then played them with two sourdough baquettes was amazing!

and just exactly how much of one's brain need be removed to be able to handle four nights of STS9?

I would hate to be am STS9 roadie. THAT'S AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF GEAR to maintain/set up/trouble shoot/break down. They must be very dedicated or paid very well, one.

This was my first STS9 new years run, and they were incredible. Late nights raged too, Lipp Service, Telepath, and the dude from Pretty Lights were sick(didnt make 31st afterparty). Best light show ive ever seen at the Tab. Ready to make it up north for tDB next year though.

Wow I wish I was there! I've seen Sound Tribe six times, and every time they are exponentially better than the last. Nice to see they're playing more Peaceblaster songs in their sets.. I saw them in October and the only new song they played was "Beyond Right Now". (They did play "New New 4 U", which is a pretty intrigueing song.. starts off whack but turns into some tight futuristic orgy dance musak).

And what's up with this being a photo-only review? The writer Jambase sent probably got dosed and is still struggling to put what he experienced into words... If that's the case then I can forgive you. But if I wanted to see pictures of this show all I'd have to do is look on STS9's MySpace page..

If Rhymes made a great point -- if you are the slightest bit disturbed that there isn't a written review, then stop wasting your time commenting on jambase and write an article! And no one needs, wants, or cares for the negative energy that some of you people are trolling.

I agree with breathein on his first point about writing an article. Anyone at a show can contribute a review on this website. They don't just limit it to staff members. Anyone can contribute to this site. So everyone who wants a review of the 5 day Bisco run, and you were there, start writing and submit. But know that they aren't just going to take anything that you contribute.

to be fair, I think the picures speak volumes about their live show. As we all know, it doesn't really vary all too much show-to-show, but their stage set-up is probably the most impressive of the current touring bands in the jam genre. (I know they're not jam, but it's all grouped into one steaming pile if a bunch of spunions love it) So how can one write about a show that was probably not very different from any other ones? Love the pics!

i've been eagerly awaiting these pictures, thanks for posting them. another incredible STS9 tabby experience well captured - i would have rather been nowhere else on any of those 4 nights.

No, you aren't imagining anything. The Tabernacle is by far my favorite venue. Its an old church, beautiful sound and I get middle balcony because you can feel the entire place move with the beats with the whole top balcony dancing.

Guitar name = Modulus... Light show = wow... STS9 PA set = mehhh... STS9 Live = miss old STS9... Pictures = Solid... No Article = no complaints... Wish I was going to Phish = yes... Anyone have extras = I will by them!... P.S.- Reed Mathis left JFJO = bummed!

Just isn't that easy, this band is rated as the fourth most searched band on on the site, give them a written review. looks sick. 12/29 was an awesome night.

Ricky, there was still crunkness going down on Luckie Street w/o panic. The New Era corner popped until 2 to 3 am and ran into the Super 8. once again, tribe peaceblasted, but the light show got more intense in those tracks. ive seen pics and video from the 5 bisco shows and it looked awesome too. I hope tribe gets the LED disco balls like bisco used.

Whats the point of going onto a bands thread and talking shit? I don't get it. There are plenty of band i HATE and i leave thier fans alone. Let people like what they like. And as far as the button pressing aspect goes, what a hilariously ignorant comment. Yes they play sequences behind there music, so do alot of other bands, They play thier instruments over top of the sequence.

I am pretty positive that bisco loops some parts of their music and they are definitely just as repetitive as sts9 and as for umphrey's, they have been trying to change into that, but haven't quite gotten it down

guitarjuan - you're going to miss out on a lot of good shit if you simply write off bands for integrating technology into their music. i feel sorry for you. these guys play instruments and act as dj's at the same time. and the music is still all their creation, they're just aided by advancements in the field of music making.

u cannot compare tribe to anyone else, im not saying they better then everyone else, they just in a different category, completely different sound,

similarities in bisco and tribe: that they both draw huge crowds and have huge fanbases, thats all that matters

tribe is my true love, but you dont see me on bisco's page downing them jus cus i dont like them as much, seriously, chill out, enjoy your music, no matter what your music is.

what a night!!! i was there only for the 31st and after talking with some people i wish i could have made the other nights too. before midnight and for about 45 minutes afterwards we were right smack dab center about 4-5 people back, then we went up to the balcony for the rest of the show. it was a blast, cool people, tons good of vibes and i was sore for two days from raging so hard. i have done WSP nye runs in ATL and this experience was different but still a blast.

These pictures are amazing! That was by far the best new years I've ever had. It was also my first tribe show but I'm sold. Ive never heard any jam band mix hip hop into their music like that...crazy but awesome.

Sick set-list... I missed out

I think sound tribe should go back to only using samples... but that is just me. I think they should realize what singing over electronic jam music sounds like, MUDDY, and just stop doing it. The main reason Bisco will never ever be respectable in my book, its almost laughable when they try and sing... i mean i have laughed before about it, its just absolutely atrocious. that being said,i can't wait to see them next time the make it around.

Is it that hard to understand why there is no write-up?? The music is just garbled noise that is being puked out electronically...it's all the same, so why note a difference journalistically. Besides, the journalist was probably un-knowingly dosed with some dirty-ass grunge ghetto-baby-child's (classic sts9 fan now) home-made sink mescaline. These guys blow big balls.

As to answer someone who was asking about the Tabernacle. Yes, it is still by far and away my favorite venue to see shows at. It's awesome inside, and has 3 floors. The middle balcony wraps all the way around and provides a great view. I love looking up at everyone above my from the floor! The place almost seems to come alive, with everyone dancing and groovin like that.

Crazy photos, I caught them doing Live PA set in PA the other night. I feel hosed on the light show after seeing this! Put a quick review up on review section.
