BLOODKIN TO RELEASE BABY, THEY TOLD US WE WOULD RISE AGAIN DIGITALLY AND TO SELECT RETAILERS ON FEBRUARY 17
"It's no mystery I am a longtime fan of the music of the band Bloodkin... I put their catalog right up there with the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Alejandro Escovedo and Steve Earle in terms of truly capturing the nuances of humanity, both the light and the dark, in song." -AQUARIUM DRUNKARD

SCI Fidelity Records will release's Bloodkin's Baby, They Told Us We Would Rise Again digitally and to select retailers on February 17, 2009. A wider release is expected in late spring. Baby, They Told Us We Would Rise Again is Bloodkin's eighth album and was produced by David Barbe (Bettye LaVette, Drive-By Truckers, Sugar).
The band's principals Daniel Hutchens and Eric Carter have been playing music together since they were children. Bloodkin's 20-year history has seen all the highs and lows that are endured by career musicians. They have battled personal demons and personal changes but in the end the music remains a genuine article of Southern Gothic narrative wrapped in the cloak of powerful and raw guitar-driven rock & roll music.
The band will be touring with the Drive-By Truckers in January and February. DBT's Patterson Hood wrote the liner notes for the band's new release and called Bloodkin's music, "Life affirming Rock and Roll in the grandest tradition. This is music to LIVE with and it don't get any better than that."
The band will continue announcing more dates through the spring and summer.
