WNYC radio and NPR Music present a live webcast of globalFEST 2009, the annual showcase that provides a "sneak peek" of global musicians on the verge of international fame. On January 11th, WNYC will present globalFEST as a live webcast at www.wnyc.org with a special behind-the-scenes preview beginning at 6pm, Eastern time. Hosts David Garland, Banning Eyre and Rob Weisberg will report from the three stages, providing insights and commentary.
Beginning Friday, January 16th, full recordings all of the artists' performances will be available on-demand at www.wnyc.org. In addition, during the week of January 19th, select performances will be highlighted on WNYC's Evening Music and New Sounds with John Schaefer, which air nightly on WNYC 93.9 FM.
The 6th Annual globalFEST takes place at NYC's Webster Hall. Twelve artists from around the world will perform on three stages to coincide with the annual APAP conference The event takes place January 11, 2009. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 7pm
