Great Line up, I am just glad that they final moved that shady scene. I am actually considering driving 13 hrs to check this festival out. I hope it returns to its low key roots!!!

im thinkin that this "jimmy herring band" is probably the guys that he recorded his last album "lifeboat" with: Jeff Sipe, Oteil Burbridge, Kofi Burbridge, Matt Slocum, Greg Osby, DEREK TRUCKS, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Tyler Greenwell, Scott Kinsey, Ike Stubblefield. who knows?

Glad to see STS9 is hitting up the festies this summer. My fav way to see them. Good line up, good price, just hope the venue is as good as everyone says it is...

I do like the initial artist announcement... and this fest is cheap too!! But, do they really expect STS9 and YMSB to headline this fest?? If they want to compete with bonnaroo, All good or 10klf they need a better lineup than this... although I do live me some STS9, YMSB, Galactic is key, railroad earth, george porter, jimmy herring... it looks good... but where are the headliners??? no WSP, Dead, Phish, Flaming Lips, Wilco???

msudtg...they are not trying to compete with Bonnaroo. They are trying to be low key maybe 20,000 a day max, and thank god. Too many kids and wooks = sucky times.

i doubt they will be trying to compete with the bigger fests given the initial ticket price, i grbbed mine for $79 a month ago and im glad i did! id be fine if they just left it as is but im sure they'll add at least 1 or 2 bigger names to this.

Yeah if Yonder and STS9 are headlining I would be even more inclined to go, now not saying that I don't want a band like Wilco there. Waka started as a small fest I hope they are trying to get back. It would really be a great time if they don't reach for the stars with this move, just get a good solid lineup that will draw a good mix. And they will be set.

CHA CHING!!! Great line up, the venue looks like the bomb dig, and you get 2X STS9, YMSB, RRE, PGROOVE, and then EOTO, Galactic and BOOMBOX. Man, Wakarusa, way to step up and make everyone rethink what festival to go to this summer. I wonder who else they will add..., no matter, I'll see you hooligans in the Ozarks. Now all i need is Deer Creek Phish tickets and ROTHBURY artists to be announced and my summer will be set. This summer is going to be a trip.

for those of you who havent visited this venue-Mulberry Mountain-no matter where you'll be driving from, it will be worth every minute of your trip. this place is beauty. and what a freakin lineup!?! wakawaka

***great line up, for anyone that doesnt know "Secret Chiefs 3" check em out.... they fuckin tear it up and are very versatile. Saw them open for Claypool a year ago and was floored....thats onyl after I had to sit thru the fuckin catastrophe which was TIM FITE, ill never forgive les for that shit, worst opening act ever!

Great line-up. I have a good feeling the stage setup for Waka will be very similar to the current Mulberry setting. The line-up as has a similar ring to the last Harvest Fest at Mulberry. If you look at the stage schedule for Harvest Fest 08, you can almost look into the future of Waka 09. I am planning on making the 12 drive round tip for this festival. It should be amazing!!

Loving this line up for this year, havent been since 05 and with the new venue I think everything should be groovy. Id like to see a few more additions i.e. Derek Trucks Band, North Mississippi Allstars, The Greyboy Allstars, Tea Leaf Green. Im pretty sure that Zappa plays Zappa will be here as well because they announced it last year a few days after that storm that took the power out.

Great scheduling for this festival being that it ends two days before the Ashville Phish show, and after Ashville it is a simple southern drive from North Carolina to Bonnaroo..

I've never been, but it sure looks good. Sly and Robbie and lots of good blue grass. Venue looks sweet also. Also, a person's age and how many shows they've seen doesn't matter. It's all about the attitude. We just need a positive vibe.

I am glad to see that Yonder is finally getting what looks like a semi-headlining role at a festival of this size. These four men are the kings of new-era bluegrass and deserve to be treated as such. I can't wait to dance my feet off this summer. See you there!

waka is looking good im kinda sad it not in lawrence right where i live but im glad to see it out of clinton lake and all the cops all over the place, its going to be like the old waka's this should be the best since 04, 05 was good to execpt the cops and shit but it was my first cheese show so i hold it dear to my heart

damn. i definatly just found out its almost a 18 hr drive. that sucks. i guess gas prices are half what they were last summer and i did 18 hrs to langerado straight through. just switched drivers once in the middle of the night.

sooooo excited! mulberry is in my backyard!!!! hopefully it's as good as harvest was in 08.. well minus hurricane ike and the 110 mile an hour winds. i only have to drive 45 minutes to get there.

dead tour 09 and two SWEET festivals in my backyard. damn this summer is gonna be a grand ole time.

Waka is doing EVERYTHING right this time around. Amazing work on rebuilding a shaky fest into (IMHO) what will be a highlight of the summer~
