WSP: Valdosta 1989

Widespread Panic's second Archive Release: Valdosta 1989

conjugal and jjimigg,

why get on the discussion board for an article titled WSP: Valdosta if you hate panic so much? fucking lame. You know what band really sucks? This shit band from Cinci called "Crazy Legs". Worst shit ever.

This is a must hear show for any panic fan, but obviously not these two d-bags.

yes it is a great show, I've been listening to the bootleg for a while. I bet this release sounds awesome. crazylegs from cincy does suck though. One time I got elected councilman and pissed all over them in the middle of a shitty(their best) set.

damn dude, why so hostile? I like to read up on all music, even that not in my taste realm. I am sure you and all other Panicheads will love this old show, just not my bag. If you have a show to steer me in a direction that is more experimental and not so generic, let me know, but i mean no ill will. Also, you should see Crazy Legs live first before making such rash opinions out in public. You may like us, you may not, but positive vibrations to all music lovers everywhere, no matter where your taste lies! Different pallats for different peeps broseph

conjugal:

1) Please stop making mars volta fans look stupid.

2) Saying "i wonder if panic was better when I was 4? I hope so" is definitely "so hostile" and not "positive vibrations to all music lovers"

3) I bet I could tell you Panic shows to listen to and you wouldn't even check them out. But if you really want to hear some "experimental" panic (which they have never claimed to be), listen to 5-10-97. There's a bunch with a fiddle player. Here's a link:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/i4bg8u

Or you could listen to ANYTHING from this past summer! When was the last time you even saw panic? 2005?

Thanks for posting this JamBase.

thanks for the link burn, i will download it once i am able to. The last Panic show I saw was their Rothbury set, and beside the TalkingHeads cover, i wasnt that impressed. It was waaaay better than the roo sets ive seen in the past, because Jimmy Herring is the muthafuckin man. I really wish I had the internet at my house so i could listen to it and smoke a doobster, but alas im in this stupid lab and connot. But, thanks again, and I do love me some fiddle.

THANK YOU WSP ARCHIVE! this is definitely one of the best shows before Dom......IMO.......i was just jamming out to it on the way home from getting my wisdom teeth pulled this morning, and telling my mom how this was the best 80's panic show and blahblahblah and BOOM i get home and find out it is being released! WOW! this is some crazy sh*t huh? Well, im stoked, and all the people that get on and comment negatively on panic.........why? Why even read an article about a band that is so horrible in your opinion? i guess i will never undrestand those dbags that like to just be dbags for the fuck of it. wow nitrous and pain meds make me type crazy sh*t.

Conjugal,

If your band is any good, I'll hear ya sometime down the road. Like maybe in 20 years when you re-release one of your classic shows like this one. That is, if y'all have the same kind of chops panic has. Kinda doubt it though. S

As long as they steer clear of the george shows...This is a great thing they have started, I just wish they would put stuff out that was played (running up to but not 31st) NYE 96, 97, 98-- this band was pulling it off like no other

in regards to conjugal burning, how can you, as a musician, openly trash a band that was sustained itself for 20+ years??

let me know next time you guys come to SF. I will make it a personal vendetta to sneak into your show and and take an axe to your drumkit.

ps- nice medeski rip off on you pic, KOOOOOKK!!

this looks damn good, i got a lot of the late 80's shows but not this one so im excited. sucks im catchin these guys in their 20th somethin year, i got into panic when mikey died and it deeply annoys me that i never heard that man shred it up. Great to see Dimebag Darrell get mentioned, man Pantera created some groovin ass music, grew up on that shit. Was my favorite group of musicians till i ventured into WSP.

Yes. Panic is the shit. Suck it you haters. This looks like an interesting show to listen to. Most of the setlists in those days were filled with covers. Just a couple here. Should be cool to her them trying their songs out on stage. Also, just recovering from Warren Haynes Xmas Jam. Panic fans, the Allmans did a version of Guilded that was amazingly sick. Try and listen to a set with it in there. 10 hours of music last night! YES!

WSP was way ahead of their time. They still play all those songs regularly(except maybe l.a.) Howz about an 89 Driving>Disco>Driving Last Straw Jack>Chilly. Schools actually talks about Valdosta 89 in T.E.W.S.Y. saying Panic was so hard back then they used to scare away the hippies-I wish we could scare away some of these hippies that are hating on Panic. If u think Panic sucks- stick to your moe/bisquit/phish boards- Your not invited
