Kinky 2009 Tour

DANCE IS THE THING WITH LIGHTLY TWEAKED LATIN BEAT GROOVERS

Latin electronic rockers Kinky will bring their raucous live shows back to the U.S. for a 15-city trek in support of the upcoming fourth studio album, Barracuda. The tour will begin in San Francisco on February 21 and wrap in Chicago on March 14, and the quintet will celebrate their CD release on February 24 with a show in their second home of Los Angeles.

The live sets will include classic Kinky hits like "Mas" and "Presidente," as well as songs from the new album. In an early review of Barracuda, Billboard said: "Kinky hits the sweet spot here on this polished electronic pop set. The group combines its unfailingly catchy hooks with nods to '80s British new wave and geeky electronica riffs."

Saw these guys at Langerado in '06 and at voodoo '07 were easily the best band playing at the fests besides the meters of course. Incredible grooves led by some of the sickest drum and bass work ever. I call them the mexican talking heads. If you haven't seen them and they are in your town check them out. Wish they were coming to denver.

The fact that beb is in the negatives and bubba get's +7 for callings these guys "fags" really shows where jambase reader's priorities are. I am for freedom of speech, and bubba use that word freely if that is how you want to present yourself - it is just clear what kind of comments jambasers seem to enjoy.

After reading curt's comment I realized that was voodoo '06 not '07. Just giving props to a band i really enjoyed in hopes of spreading the word. That is what jambase is really supposed to be about. Never seen the bands you listed but enjoy listening to them often. I'm guessing you've never seen Kinky. Either way, I'm a genius, and you are a douche.

I saw these guys this year at Earthdance and they are very energetic. It isn't really anything too new and it is pretty crazy and the guy likes to jump around on stage a lot and spin his guitar in circles and things like that. All in all it is kinda fun i suppose.
