A Few Honest Words Obama Remix
We realize there's been a great deal of political talk on JamBase these days, and we know not everyone is interested in it. So we apologize to those who are fed up with this direction, it won't last forever. But we are in the midst of a seriously historic moment; and as long as the politico talk is based in music we're gonna keep bringin' it to the people.
We recently stumbled upon a new remix brought to us by our favorite 24-year-old cellist Ben Sollee and DJ 2nd Nature. The duo has teamed up for "A Few Honest Words Obama Remix" to give us this inspirational track which includes soundbites from speeches by our new president Barack Obama. We're also aware that not everyone voted for Obama, and not everyone believes he will bring the change we need. It's important we're not all praising our new prez, we need checks and balances. It's good to be skeptical. It's good to demand he stay true to his word. It's not only about Obama, it's about us. We need to be the change if we want to see the change. So lets rise up and do like they say, it's time to come together.
Now back to the cellist at hand, we've been big fans of Sollee since we first caught wind earlier this year. We were knocked out by his debut Learning To Bend (where you can hear the awesome original version of "A Few Honest Words"), he was JamBase's "New Favorite Band" in our monthly newsletter, we loved his addition to the Sparrow Quartet with Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, we even liked his Kanye rant. But this "Obama Remix" has captured our hearts. So get your Hope on. Get your Pride going. Feel the Progress.
