WOW that was short! Seriously, they should have waited a lil longer! I saw Moe at summercamp and thought they were good, even tho I've never been a fan. I didn't see HAHA the moose but heard they were good. I think 5 years for Phish was short, but this is laughable!

everyone uses the word hiatus for the little, well-deserved break moe. needed to take this winter. all they are doing is letting people know about the shows ahead of time so you can plan your schedules. they were never on a hiatus people!!

maybe it's because i'm not that big on moe. or anything bluegrassy in general (besides cornmeal), and i do love sts9 (new album is pretty meh though) but sts9 headlining summercamp would be tight! i don't expect it though....i do hope they come back and they get a better (late-night?) set. i'll prolly buy summercamp tickets immediately just to get that price break, but i gotta check out the lineups of summercamp and demf (detroit electronic music fest) before i make a decision. would love to party again in the middle-of-nowhere illinois, but i've been on a particularly mean obsession with electronica recently.

i think i asked this somewhere else: anyone got any good shows off archive.org to check out moe.'s sound? i didn't pay much attention to their summercamp sets (although that jam with kris from umphreys was pretty tight), but i'd love to hear some recommendations...

Moe. is a band who I respect very much, after several years of being a fan I have found out that every year it keeps getting better and better. If you decide to not enjoy their work, it ends up getting more on your nerves. Try to embrace all music so you get the most out of life. Moe. in Chicago would be sweet.

summercamp would still happen without moe (although it wouldnt be the same fer sure)...i talked to jake from UM after a show in michigan this summer and he said that if moe was still on hiatus during SC they would most likely be THE headliner and probably get a slot each of the 3 nites

this is great news! with the $12,000+ dollars i saved on not getting ripped off on 3, yes 3, phish reunion tickets i can literally see moe for the rest of my life. Lets do the math. One ticket for each night of the scalper fest phish reunion = $400-$1500 a pop thats over $12,000 for three nights of phish at hampton. Thats three $50 phish tickets inflated to well over $300-$400 a pop. I could be a douche and shell that much out like scifreak did....or....

When moe comes back tickets will be like $30 a pop. And the venues will be small, but with plenty of room. I'll keep my $12,000 and just see moe instead. Leave the phish scene to the scalpers and newbie$.

Why dont moe and umphreys tour together constantly so the two shittiest bands on the scene wont be crapping in 2 cities only 1....or both just take a permanent hiatus but that might last a week or so

i can honestly say that this band got me through the past 4 plus years with no phish. they are the best thing going live in the jam world right now, and honestly one of the best bands playing if you throw in the fact that you can see the guys in clubs which can be extremely intimate. they are worth every penny it costs to see them live. these guys were totally on at moe.down for three straight days, and they are just plain bad ass. but seriously were is the asheville love.

Paying that much to a scalper only temporarily eases this condition, but as soon as the $1000 show is over its back to the microscope and tweezers. I dont like any of those bands,and on a personal level sts9 has taken me emotionally to places that umphreys never could. and since when does singer mean soul you dumb fuck. There has been many bands that have had soul that havent had a singer. Now i do agree with schofizzle that sts9 has lost some of their soulfulness by using the lap tops more and playing the same set more often, but this isnt a sts9 umphreys debate. Umphreys in my opinion is one of the corniest bands in the jam scene and i dont understand how people can like it , but once again this is my opinion which i am entitled to so dont take it on such a personal level, or act like you know me, because i am far from a drugged out hippie who is just being irrational here. If anything you guys are the ones being irrational , getting offended by an opinion. Think about the balance of things, when you like something that much theres gonna be a reaction of people who feel just as strong as you do in the opposite opinion.

moe. never called it a hiatus and on their website it has always said the band looked forward to scamp 2009...moe is the shit and has done alot for the scene while phish was gone and im sure will continue to make good music. already got my tics for shows at the RIV...heady times for live music

Hey new to jambase...pretty interesting to see different peoples' perspectives on what to me is all good music. But I do have to say I am going to the HaHa the Moose show this Friday in NYC and I am so stoked. I am yet to catch a moose performance but I have only heard funky things.
