Rebus Bass Player Pete Knowlton has decided to part ways with the band. Siting growing personal interests and financial difficulties, Pete leaves the band with our complete love, gratitude, and support. Pete is a talented musician and has been highly influential to all of us. We hope he will continue to bless us with his music in the future.
Other members of Rebus (Andrew Crater–guitar, James Pace-keyboards/vocals, and Kyle Poehling-drums/vocals) are still fully committed to the project. We will continue with production efforts on our first full-length studio album due out this spring. Supporting tours will resume with a new bassist in the lineup.
Rebus is currently accepting audition tapes/CDs for review and will audition bass players beginning October 1st. A decision will be made when the right person is found, no deadline, so keep the auditions coming! The more people to consider the better. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with strong experience, education, love of art, unquestionable dedication and desire to tour. Strong improvisational and compositional skills are required. Competency in all musical genres and forms is desired along with Upright, and Electric skills. Vocal and reading/writing skills are also a huge plus. If you are interested in auditioning please email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
For now "Velcro" which consists of James Pace (keys), Kyle Poehling
(drums/percussion), and DJ Blake 9 (turntables) will be playing a few
local shows... There will certainly be a number of special guests at these shows, so needless to say it would not be wise to miss them!
