I am going to regret missing this show for the rest of my life. Great review though... anyone know the set list?
awesome review! david byrne has definitely been on the top of my list of musicians to see live for a very long time now...this just reminded me why.
I was at this show and it was that good. Def in the top 3 shows I have ever seen. Byrne voice sounds just as great as it did in the heads heyday. The venue was amazing. I was in the highest seating and the sound was still really good. The energy was amazing. I am glad that I coughed up the 74 bucks for a tix. Great pics...wish there were more. The burning down the house encore was epic...confirmed
I'd love to see Byrne again. Been since Bonnaroo '04 :-(
I was disappointed that i missed him when he came through here (AZ) the end of last month, but wasn't able to go anyway due to other show commitments (Sigur Ros, Mars Volta), Byrne is definitely an amazing musician and this article nailed it. I do wish that the Talking Heads would get back together, i've heard stupid rumors that they might do Lollapalooza next year, but i don't know when or where i heard that info and don't even know if the source is reliable, it would be sweet though. So like Soulink, i will regret not catching this tour, hopefully the silly rumor of Lolla will be true and i will get to see the real deal!
good stuff, too bad the Talking Heads will never reunite
Good review. I can't wait to see Byrne at the Buell Theatre in Denver sunday.
the santa barbara show was awesome, they played an extra tune after Burning Down The House!
chastain park ATL was wonderful too, but he did say at the end.
Thats ALL we know. so, thats the same songs each show, perhaps in a different order. I love it anyway, GO BYRNE!!!
Great review, just reading this sends shivers down my spine. I'm really jealous you saw this, Byrne is a genius and a great musician.
one of the greatest moments of my life (2 times rather, same song both nights) was seeing David Byrne perform at the "Under African Skies" concerts at BAM last april. seeing him perform "I Know What I Know" as the LEAD SINGER of paul simon's band was truly breathtaking. As I read in previous interviews, whatever drugs Mr. Byrne is taking that make him actually get better with age-I want.

Just bought tix to Charleston.
I've seen Byrne on every major tour that he has done since leaving the Talking Heads. His Rei Momo era show at the Greek in Berkeley with a 17 piece hand-picked group of outstanding and legendary Latin Jazz musicians remains in the top three shows I've ever seen in my life (Dead 10/09/89 and Phish in Fukuoko 6/14/00 are the other two, by the way; not bad company and yes I've been a lucky concert-goer). The other shows I've seen of his are all in the top twenty out of over a thousand concerts in 35 years. Never saw the Heads and that's o.k. by me cause what I have seen has been truly musical excellence and fiery artistic elegance. A true hero of mine as well. If he's comin' around, don't miss him.
Santa Rosa show was outstanding! WE LOVE THE BYRNE!!!!!!! :) Your just Brilliant!
Great review! Too bad not more pics.
I was so excited for front row tics next Tuesday @ The State Theatre.
Now you made me actually wish I could skip this weekend & make it Tuesday.
I too got shivers on this-
was just watching Stop Making Sense the other day-Unreal "Cross-eyed", "Making Flippy floppy" and be sure to see the "bonus track" of "Cities" and you'll never be the same.
Is it me or is there a kinda futuristic look that Byrne has? It could be the crack I just smoked though.

Cool looking Venue, I'm gonna have to see something there someday. Great pic's can't wait to see Byrne in person.
cool show. Looks similar to the 3 night run at the Fillmore a few years ago, which was outstanding as well.
If the only crowd you've seen get as loud is at a phish show, the writer needs to get out more. A lot more.
