THE BREAKFAST: SYNERGY OF SOUND TOUR

The Breakfast
Jam monsters The Breakfast are out on their Synergy of Sound 2008 fall tour, spanning both coasts with stops in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions. A hard hitting jazz rock experimental group from New Haven, CT, The Breakfast accepted a Jammy award for Best New Groove in 2004 at the Madison Square Garden Theater. Road warriors from the beginning, the band has been touring non stop for the last five years, performing with other national acts such as The Wailers, moe., North Mississippi Allstars, Gomez, and many more. Now reaching national status, The Breakfast is tighter, funkier and more versatile than ever.

NEW LINEUP
Due to creative differences, keyboardist Matt Oestreicher and The Breakfast will part ways at the end of October. Tim Palmieri will take double duty responsibilities on both guitar and keyboards through October 13, and shows will feature many special guest appearances! Oestreicher will finish his run with the band from October 13 through the October 25 show in Erie, PA, and RAQ keyboardist Todd Stoops will then take over and finish out the year performing with The Breakfast.

I heard Raq called it quits. Rumor has it that Chris is on the tar.

These guys are pretty well known on the east coast, but your westerners should definitely check them out! That really sucks about Raq if that's true.

Tim just can't keep a band together. How many "line-up" changes has this band gone through ... ??? Bummer. Anyway, I don't like the music of Breakfast nor RAQ enough to have this mean that much to me. Great musicians, sure. Just a little to hard edged for my taste. That's just my personal opinion, so please don't hate to much on me for that.

The Breakfast with Stoops is gonna be nasty no matter which way you look at it. Tim is such a better guitar player than Chris and you you barely compare anyone to Adrian. I think if just those three were a band that would be way sicker than any RAQ or Breakfast show! Can't wait to check it out.

I've never seen Raq, I think they were at Camp Bisco but I can't remember. I sorta remember some wook telling me that they were a "wannabe VT/phish jamband", I think. One thing I'm sure of is that they prob aren't very good with that many lineup changes. Maybe they should just change the types of lines.

I am confused, so when they are opening up for Particle's 8 year anniversary this Thursday it will be Tim taking both roles??

in response to "how many 'line-up' changes has this band gone through?":

original lineup (1998-July 2006): tim (guitar), adrian (drums), ron (bass) & jordan (keys)

the trio (July 2006-August 2007): tim (guitar, keyboards), adrian (drums), ron (bass)

the trio +1 (August 2007-December 2007): tim (guitar, keyboards), adrian (drums), ron (bass), matt (keyboards)

2.0 (January 2008-October 2008): tim (guitar), adrian (drums), matt (keys), chris (bass)

RAQ is not quitting and stop spreading ugly rumors. meanie.

I agree, Stoops will take the breakfast to new heights and they could use his skills, the skills of an octopus ninja on keys!!!!

I attended RAQ NYE last year, and the sad part was a poor turnout, but they have worked very hard to try to develop the southeast tours into something a little bigger, I saw three shows in 2007 in knoxville and then one in ATL last march. They are too good to quit, and they have great original songs, and they are not a phish wannabe band, they have their own material, just as many groups do. U Melt, Pgroove, to name a couple.

The breakfast is the best kept secret in the jamscene. Tim cant catch a well deserved break. If in New Haven area check Tim out Wednesday nights at Bar where he tears it up solo(worth the trip just for the pizza). He also has a very good Red Hot Chili Peppers Tribute band made up of his fellow breakfast brothers.

and quit spreading the lies, a person on "tar" cannot play with the poise required to be as tight as RAQ. meanie.

I am a Breakfast junkie (no pun intended) but not a huge fan of RAQ. I wish they could borrow Stoops ( who has done many sit ins with the Breakfast) for a decade or so. But I appreciate Raq alot. I just think pound for pound Tim Palmieri is one of the best ripping guitarists out there. I grew up a Phish kid so that shreadding is what gets me going at a show and NOBODY can tear the neck off a guitar like timmy!!!! Not to mention the gnome in the back with some of the sickest rolls on the kit ever!! If you haven't seen them and you dig on Phish give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Here I come Erie, for my second farewell to a Breakfast key player. Keep your heads up boys better times are on the horizon.

I'm a relatively old guy and stumbled across the breakfast at an open mike show in Milford, Ct at the Star Cafe in 1998 I think. I have seen a lot of bands and I have to tell you Tim and Adrian landing in the same band locally is an unbelievable thing. Tim is obviously just a sick guitar player who can shred, shred, shred. I think his challenge is actually to use fewer notes. He is also a fine person. I can't tell you how many shows in really small bars I've been at where people walk in and eventually end up with their jaws dropped watching Adrian. I miss Ronny - he could barely play bass when I first saw him and he was killin it Chili peppers style in like two years or so. If you love that jam band music these guys are the real deal.

Wow - what an amazing band! I'm really looking forward to the New Year's Eve show at Toad's Place in New Haven. These guys are great and really deserve some respect!

both bands are pretty terrific. i saw breakfast in indianapolis last year with the old keyboardist. he kind of dicked up the show in a couple of places, out of time, out of key, just kind of lost. i am sure the keyboard player from RAQ will be an improvement.
