ACL was my 3rd time seeing this guy (Antones in 2006 and Hornings in 2004 too) and he's as good as ever. The first couple of tracks off his new album sounds like Tool. Sick. Loved the Fidel Castro outfit he had on too. Badass!!!

Nice review...I had the opportunity to interview Rudd for a piece I wrote. Unfortunately it was a situation where meeting one of your hero's turns out to be kind of a let down. Fun show though.
First time I saw Rudd was here in Asheville for free at Bele Chere like 3 years ago. He absolutely blew me away. This guy is just so talented.

Nice review. I was at this show and you did a good job of capturing the energy and essence of the show. After listening to Xavier for a couple of years it was awesome to finally see him. He puts on one hell of a show! The only disappointment for me was after seeing him two nights earlier in DC he played the exact same setlist, down to the covers and encore. The music was still amazing but would've been neat to hear some of the songs he didn;t play in DC. Oh well, I can say I finally saw him...and can't wait for the next!
hornings 04!! hell yeah. he brought the rain
Love the new drummer & effects added to the sound.
Went to the 1st ave show & it was outstanding, but all you youngsters/college kids need to shut the F up. the last time I saw him it was the same way. If you want to have a conversation thru MOST of the show go outside or stay home. Thank you!
Rudd is my favorite live show by miles. The crowds feed off of his good vibes and give them right back to him. Nothing could bring me down for a month after seeing him.
those photos! so crisp so clear, the composition the color, what a bad ass photographer.
Hornings was my first too! Thunder, lightning, pouring rain - it was shamanistic. Today very different Xavier from 4 years ago. His energy more intense and his songs much darker. Perhaps too much George Bush for one man to stomach....Still undecided on the drummer addition. I liked him solo but he needs someone there for filler so he can take a breather. He looked like a mafioso with those sunglasses.
