RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALS: CARDINOLOGYOUT OCTOBER 28
APPEARING ON THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN OCTOBER 29
Akashic Books To Release "Infinity Blues"

Ryan Adams
The Cardinals - Ryan Adams (vocals, guitar, keys), Neal Casal (guitar, vocals), Chris Feinstein (bass, vocals), Jon Graboff (pedal steel, vocals) and Brad Pemberton (drums) - have confirmed an October 28 release for Cardinology, the band's latest collection of all-new studio material for the Lost Highway label. They will return to their TV-home-away-from-home, THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, the following evening.

Like its predecessor Easy Tiger, which TIME magazine hailed as "a career breakthrough," Cardinology is a concise and focused collection of twelve unadorned gems, the final sequence of which will be:

1. Born Into A Light
2. Go Easy
3. Fix It
4. Magick
5. Cobwebs
6. Let Us Down Easy
7. Crossed Out Name
8. Natural Ghost
9. Sink Ships
10. Evergreen
11. Like Yesterday

In other news from Planet Cardinal, "Infinity Blues," Ryan Adams' first ever collection of non-musical writing will be published March 16, 2009 by venerable independent house Akashic Books. Infinity Blues will be available for pre-order through Akashic's website beginning Monday, October 6 at www.akashicbooks.com/ryanadamspreorder.htm. Pre-orders will include a signed hardcover copy of "Infinity Blues," with a bonus poetry chapbook by Ryan Adams titled "Sad American Mythology." The limited edition signed and numbered chapbooks will be available only through the Akashic Books website as part of this pre-order.

Alls i gotta say is that Ryan and the Cards kick @SS ! I caught them live a few weeks back in Boston and the show was beyond stellar. This band is kicking @ss and taking names. People have been waiting years for Ryan to arrive. At the show i saw, it was very clear, that he and his band HAVE arrived and then some. The songs are top notch, and Neil Casal and the Cardinals are on par with bands like the Heartbreakers and Crazy Horse, i kid you not. Go catch these guys before they start playing arenas, or Ryan falls off the wagon.

C'mon Ryan, Please come back to Philly. I'm sorry about that horrible show @ the TLA filled with hipsters who were talking loud and not paying attention. PHILLY PHUCKS is wot I calls 'em. You are loved in this town, I can asure you that, sir. Come back to Philly my friend, and this time we'll treat you with the respect you deserve!

It's safe to say Ryan Adams has been my obession that past month. The man creates such unique and melancholic music. It takes a special person to make a song sound beautiful and sad at the same time, and Ryan has perfected it. I haven't bought a CD in about 2 years, but I will be buying this one the day it comes out.

most definately pickin up cardinology the day it is released. love him or hate him, you can't deny Ryan Adams is putting out some seriously high quality music with profound lyrics and vocals powerful enough to put you into tears(Trust me listen to his whole catalog , it'll happen one day)

I'm not saying he's bob dylan or anything..... i'm saying HE'S BETTER.

looking forward to 10-16 in Tuscaloosa .... ryan=Grade A Artist. if you don't like ryan's music i simply just don't validate your musical taste or opinion hahaha

So glad to see a positive board thus far for a truly deserving artist. Ryan Adams will tear youre fucking heart out and all the while you cant help but smile. Jerry Garcia always used to say theres nothing like a sad song (done right), hence loser, wharf rat, black peter(the goods). Im not trying to draw any comparison to jerry and ryan but i love a fucking sad song and ryan adams delivers just that, its alrite, almost healthy to feel good about a sad song. enough jibberish cannot wait to see him in roch cha cha next saturday.

^^I don't think it would be wrong to at least make a connection to Jerry. They are both masters of the art of emoting and writing songs with depth, grace, and character. I was amazed when I started getting in to Ryan Adams. While I do not like all his material (I tend to favor the acoustic stuff), there are some true gems in his catalog. Yes, agreed, nice to see some positivity!

I like Ryan ALOT & is currently one of my favorites-

Have only had positive experiences & vibes form his shows......

But lets please hold off on comparing him to Dylan & Garcia-

who BOTH inspired MULTIPLE GENERATIONS of us and are long since their 'primes'

Ryan may get there one day- and he is on his way - but he's still in his prime years and hopefully has a long way to go......lets not go crazy and make comparisons to ALL-TIMERS (yet)

philzone 7374 get a life dude, seems like all the fuckin douchebags who totally suck are on jambase making thoughtless negative comments... , not making seriously moving high quality music and touring with a top notch band. when are we going to see the end of these numb skulls spewing pointless hate on great articles/news updates . i mean it would be acceptable if the comments were humorous or made some sort of sense. however it does make it easy to identify the mental rejects(add philzone 7374 to that list) on jambase tho , they all float to the top like dead fish, with the matching IQ of dead fish

cmkauf, just to be clear, I was comparing specific qualities that Adams shares with Mr. Garcia, not their legacies. It is certainly no slight to Jerry, I assure you; I lived and breathed the man's music forever. And it is not like Ryan has only two albums out. With his huge output, there are many clunkers in there, sure- but the good stuff is, in my opinion, truly great.

mmmFriedFrogLegs - are you kidding, brah? take your hate and emo-ism to Williamsburg or someplace where it's appreciated. Philzone is entitled to his own opinion, like it or not. If you are keeping a list of online 'mental rejects', you are clearly in need of some sunlight. Take your head out of your ass. Thank you.

Thanx to Jambase to keeping us all involved in this very gifted artist life/carrier. I'm so stoked that another album will be comming out soon. They are just a machine in putting out albums! The best part about that is that they LIKE the studio. They take pride in their studio time. But, also, the music isn't getting watered down. With every output, another jem is in our collections. I'm getting reved up to seeing them in Madison. What a treat, eh?
