4 is the brilliant new studio album from Sweden's Dungen. Lead by frontman Gustav Ejstes, 4 focuses on the extremes of Dungen's sound separated into two entities. Blazing, raw guitar workouts have their own time and place, but now, with Ejstes bringing the piano forward as the lead instrument, stirringly orchestrated, jazz-cooled compositions swirl alongside cinematic undertones - kinda like a psychedelic love story. While Ejstes is the principle songwriter in the studio, Dungen performs as a four-piece on the road, with a lineup rounded out by new drummer Johan Holmegard, guitarist Reine Fiske and bassist Mattias Gustavsson.
Dungen kicks off their upcoming tour with a performance at Kemado's Official CMJ Showcase this October and wraps up a few weeks later on the left coast.
