Jamtopia launched its first ever concert photo contest on June 24, 2008, giving music fans and photographers around the world a chance to share their best concert photos for a chance to win great prizes.
The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels and has already garnered entries depicting everything from local acts to international headliners in a wide range of genres.
Entrants can submit their photos to the contest through The 2008 Jamtopia Concert Photo Contest Group on the photo-sharing website Flickr: www.flickr.com/groups/2008-jamtopia-concert-photo-contest where they can also comment on entries and start discussions with other entrants.
Jamtopia is also pleased to note that the 2008 Jamtopia Concert Photo Contest meets every requirement of the Pro-Imaging Bill of Rights for Photography Competitions. Jamtopia supports photographers and believes in the rights of entrants to have ownership and control of their creative work.
Winners will be selected by a notable group of music industry and concert photography veterans based on a range of criteria including originality and creativity of expression, entertainment value, composition, and use of innovative techniques.
The grand-prize winner will be awarded a Canon PowerShot SD750 camera. Two runners-up will receive a copy of the book "Trust: Photographs of Jim Marshal."
The deadline for entries is September 30, 2008.
