Glad they are back!

Let's not forget that those fucking pricks Jagger and Richards sued the Verve back to the stone age for sampling a symphonic version of Last Time (used on Bittersweet Symphony). It bankrupted the band and thy made not a cent from that album and lead to their breakup. One of the biggest dick moves in music history.

could care less they're back!! Vanilla Ice taught the world that sampling a well-known artists song will get you in trouble. So the Stones are "pricks" for not wanting some knock-off B-rate band sample their legendary music w/o permission? If the verve were a halfway decent band they would'nt need to sample the stones. The stones wrote their music, I don't think its unfair to ask this crap band to write their own, or at least ask permission before sampling good music written by a good band.

This is an incredible album (seriously, go stream it) by easily one of the best bands of the past two decades. They have set the standard for so much psychedelic music today. All of these songs are 6, 7, 8 minutes long. And they put on an incredible show, 20 minute jams. If you like guitar meltdowns and musicians who take major chances, this is your band. And check out their debut, "Storm In Heaven." I would highly encourage you to stream this album.

Just for the record, regardless of if you like The Verve, they did have permission to sample the Stones' "The Last Time." It was like four bars of the song and they had legal rights to do so. After the song came out the folks in charge of the Stones' back catalog came out and said they used too much of it and that they would sue them if they put it out. The album was already pressed and there was nothing The Verve could do. It went from the agreed upon 50/50 split, to a 100% cut for the Stones - who clearly did not need the money. This was far and a way the Verve's biggest song ever, it sold millions of albums and they never made a penny off that song. To make matters worse, Richards and Jagger sold the song against The Verve's wishes to a few commercials (Nike, Vauxhall automobiles). Are the Stones dicks, on this one, I think so. Anyway, just telling it like it is... And by the way, this new album is pretty wicked, check it out.
