KINGS OF LEON CONFIRM NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
FIRST SINGLE, "SEX ON FIRE," HITS RADIO AUGUST 11; NOW FEATURED ON MYSPACE AND KINGSOFLEON.COM
SERIES OF KINGS OF LEON HOME MOVIES WILL START TO AIR SEPTEMBER 1

Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon have confirmed their first North American tour in support of the band's new record, ONLY BY THE NIGHT. The album will be released on September 23, and the tour kicks off on street date with an exclusive club show at New York's Webster Hall. It will continue through October and November, ending November 19 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN. A full itinerary is below.

Only By The Night's first single, the explosive and memorable "Sex On Fire," will be available on Itunes and hits radio next week. The song received its first public airing yesterday, Tuesday, August 5, on MySpace Music, the band's MySpace page (go listen now fool!) and kingsofleon.com. The video is being shot in Los Angeles this week and is being directed by the renowned Sophie Muller.

Starting September 1, the band is going to begin hosting a series of home movies that document the making of Only By The Night. Every day leading up to the release date, a new home movie will be featured on kingsofleon.com and the band's MySpace page. This Saturday, August 9, they will play the All Points West Festival in Liberty State Park, in Jersey City, NJ.

Only By The Night was recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, and was produced by Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King. It is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Kings of Leon's position as one of the most important international acts of 2008 and beyond. It follows rapidly in the footsteps of the band's previous albums, Youth And Young Manhood, Aha Shake Heartbreak and Because Of The Times, all of which have quickly established them as one of the most prolific and acclaimed acts around.

Why did you have to turn into this, Kings of Leon? Southern dirt --> empty arena rock. Guess I'll have to wait until I hear the full album, but dang. I think my appreciation for them started to wane when I watched them play damn near the exact same set list two nights in a row last fall in Minneapolis.

Because of the Times was the KOL's best album to date and the best album of 2007 IMHO. They fully realized and defined their own sound on the last record, it was a masterpiece. Just look at the 7 minute opener, "Knocked Up", it takes balls to open your record with a 7 minute song about teenage pregnancy. I can't wait to hear this full length.

I listened to "Crawl" (also off the new album) for the second time, and I take back a bit of the resentment. I really hope the rest of the record leans towards the sound of that track rather than "Sex on Fire".

FYI, the Warfield is alive and well. Shows start again September 13th after a little bit of refurbishing (they're not gonna screw with the vibe of the hall) and with a new team in place. I'm catching Nick Cave there a week after they reopen.

not the biggest fan but i dig them. fun to listen to at a party. probably will skip this seeing that they're at the rave and it's the same week as Panic's 3 night stand at the riverside

The Warfield colsed (temporarly) because Bill Ghram Presents lost their lease. Goldenvoice/AEG Live picked it up. When Phil and Friends played those five shows in May it was sort of a "send off" akin to the Grateful closing out Winterland.

Also, Kings of Leon ROCK!!!

To all those who are talking smack about Kings of Leon go see them Live Suckers. Who cares what a band looks like they bring it, all three albums are great, and yes the last one was more "clean" sounding than the first two get over it the tunes hold up. Come on folks does it really matter what the band looks like as long as they rock? Go listen to them live and then judge.

I really prefer them on album. They haven't released a clunker yet.

Live though, ehhhhh. I saw them opening up for The Coral back in 2003 and they were fun, spontaneous, and gave off a ton of energy! Unfortunately, each show since then (5 or 6?) has gotten progressively samey. They're certainly not a BAD live act, but you pretty much know what you got in store. Trust me, I don't want to be that "I SAW THEM BACK WHEN..." guy, but sometimes, it just works that way!

Great live act, really kick some ass. Bring the southern fried rock and then some. Sure, they've done some ghey RS photo shoots, but live they bring the fire. I like their first 2 albums best, but the last one was good too, just with slicker production(ie bigger $$$ for budget).

I see big things ahead for KOL and bros Followill.

Not sure about a wuss act like "we are scientist" opening up for them. I'll be at the "new" Warfield for this one!

These guys reek of douchebaggery...right up there with Maroon 5. Where the hell is Leon anyway? Is it near Cocknobblerville?

Seriously...anyone that can rip this band, who has put out three VERY consistent and solid albums doesn't understand music or the idea of growing as a band. I actually would put all three of their albums up there with the best of the last 10 years. They are amazing on CD and live...period.
