NEW ALBUM BY GRAMMY NOMINATED VOCALIST & GUITARIST SUSAN TEDESCHI OUT THIS FALL
HEADLINING TOUR DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

Susan Tedeschi
This fall, Verve Records will release the new album by four-time Grammy nominated roots rock singer/songwriter/guitarist Susan Tedeschi. The as-yet-untitled release is the follow up to 2005's acclaimed Hope & Desire. The album was produced by George Drakoulias at legendary Sunset Sound Studios, in Hollywood, CA. It features special guests Gary Louris of the Jayhawks, Derek Trucks, Tony Joe White and Doyle Bramhall II, all of whom collaborated with Tedeschi on the songwriting.

Of 2005's Hope and Desire Rolling Stone enthused "Tedeschi wails with such conviction, force and nuance." The New York Post proclaimed "she sings with Janis Joplin's passion, has Bonnie Raitt's knack for sounding sexy yet tough and plays the guitar as if she took lessons from Robert Johnson." In 2000 Tedeschi earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist for Just Won't Burn. The album was certified gold that same year.

Susan Tedeschi will announce a tour with her band this fall.

I have to say that I think a Susan Tedeschi/Grace Potter co-headlining tour would be GREAT. Anybody else think so? Both of these beautiful ladies have rocked with some heavy players...Susan with ABB etc. and Grace with Gov't Mule! It just has to happen. Looking forward to Susan's album.

Hopefully Verve gives her more freedom and lets her do more than *only* COVERS like on the entire Hope & Desire. Which(the covers) I doubt Susan wanted to do herself. Hell I heard her do a song called People earlier this year on the spring tour. A really good song. Afterwards she joked about how she might sell it to someone else. Leading me to believe that the record company didn't care a thing in the world for it. Their loss. Oh . . . and the fans too . . . unless you go to catch a live show.

I agree a Grace Potter & Susan Tedeschi tour WOULD be hot!

I do think the Soul Stew Revival is a bit toned down compared to the DTB, and I think the chemistry is kind of weird up on stage with Derek and Susan at times...not to mention Mike Mattox (spelling?) spends half of the show back stage when the "Revival" is touring. Mike and Susan do however sing a great "Anyday" cover by Clapton. With that said, I thought their last late night showing at Wanee was top notch...much better than the year before in my opinion. It would be nice to see Susan branch out with some other groups too...like Grace P., open for Bonnie Raitt, or some other blues rock bands besides ABB,DTB, etc. That is really a crying shame if Verve records won't let her record her original material...LAME!!

stunkinkendall: The Band classic is spelled "The Weight", about as intelligent as the rest of your post. SSR is not DTB, they are both great but are supposed to be different. They're married so their worlds are going to collide, get over it or wait for the next DTB tour. If her record company doesn't give her freedom she should bolt-why not they have the $$.
