Remember Me
Iggy and the Stooges "No Fun" in Camden, NJ
JamBase | East Coast Go See Live Music!
"none of these bands jam! isn't this JAMbase?"
sarcasm people.
great photos jake!
Seriously tho...where are the crunchy, two-chord grooves?!?
Cool pics Mr. Photoman :)
personally i don't care for any of these bands save Man Man and Iggy Pop. IF you have never checked out Man Man then, well, you should. They are fucking insane and philly local.
Man Man owned this festival until Pop and Watt dominated the main stage.
Man Mans set featured ferocious rabid energy and antics including lots of broken drum sticks, a sweet session with flying ping pong balls and some water sports. That's nothing compared to the spot-on stomping of Butter Beans with an extended intro shuffle and wacked out plastic horn inter-play. Honus was all over the stage and before the set ended he gave a punch to "Top Drawer" that made me jump out my skin.
Iggy's set was raw unruly and made me want to fight all authoriti. "No Fun" his classic yank the crowd on stage sthtick went wild when one fan decided to act like him not only jumping off Mike watts stack but stage diving into a thin crowd - his friend followed suit only to trip off the edge of the stage onto a sucurity gents head.
Good times!
Eli paperboy Reed fuckin rules, please check him out, thanks
i've been meaning to check out man man for a while, heard nothing but good things.
i just heard The Airborne Toxic Event for the first time today. thier really good, at least the track thier playing on the radio. hate to play the "sounds like" game, but they reminded me of a rawer arcade fire.
The Airbourne Toxic Event were quite decent live. Good layered sound and the comparison to a raw Arcade Fire makes sense as they introduce the moan of strings to their mix.
Incidentaly - Iggy Pop's Gear was swipped last night -

You got a terrific eye, Krolick. Some real classic shots in this bunch. I liked how much chunky real rock 'n' roll Download had this year - Parlor Mob, Alberta Cross, Louis XIV, even The Duke Spirit. Plus, you lucky East Coasters got The Stooges. Jealous in the best ways. Viva, Mike Watt, is all I'm gonna add...
Great shots Jake. Watt looks like he's havin' a blast up there. Fun video. Sucks their gear got stolen. Sucks bad.
Did Ghostland break out their insane light show?
No on the green lazers - their set was at 7:00 - still too light out.
looks pretty un heady
CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
