I still cant believe that the Grateful Dead is not represented in any form. How can you have a festival in GG Park and have not a single member from the original bus ride.....

The DUO on Friday now too!! Holy shit that day got even better! This whole weekend is off the hook. I am thankin the music gods that this is a short drive across the Bay. I agree that some form of the Dead would seem to make sense at the home of the Dead, but its hard to complain with the lineup.

I have been waiting all summer for this festival and opted out on Rothbury to go to San Fran... The line-up seems to get better and better each passing day. If they could only add Phil, it would be icing on the Cake! He could probably walk to GG Park from his house!?!

Wow, this festival kinda fell under the radar for me being that its completely on the opposite end of the country. Although this lineup is really impressive, wilco and panic on the last nite, nuff said.

hey msudtg you would trade in your rothbury experience. Are you crazy this is going to be sick and I am happy that I live three blocks away but Rothbury was one of the best festivals ive ever been to.

The Duo is a great addition to the Friday line-up!

breckenridgejam & iwantstogetfunkedup: Phil Lesh & Friends will be playing the Slow Food Rocks festival (http://www.festivalnetwork.com/events/details.php?ID=50) the following weekend at Fort Mason with G.Love and John Butler Trio. Should be also be a great day of food and music.

Thanks jperkins9. Yeah I saw that show too! Should be good with MMW and others. Well, with Phil there I guess thay have Ratdog, Mickey Hart, or Kreutzman jammin with somebody to get the Dead crew there!

the line-up is good, but its not close to what other festivals have/had. i dont see what the hype is about. Ill hold for the bluegrass fest in Oct! and msudtg, you would be insane if you would have done that.

the North East NEEDs something like this. It's always the west coast, the midwest and the dirty that get the killer fests, while the good folk in New England have to trek across the country to enjoy some good music.

I was wondering what festival I might go to this year: Bonnaroo? No Metallica/Pearl Jam/Kanye for me. Telluride Blues and Brews? I had a conflict. Rothbury? Seemed faaaar. Oh well, I guess I'll just walk the 8 blocks from my house up to this in GGP. How sweet! When do the time slots get announced???

This is just getting better and better, can't wait to see the schedule and plan our three days of wonder. If the fest is too pricey for you, or isn't worth it because there's no camping, try out any number of other festivals in CA or around the country that are more reasonably priced and offer camping...

There's plenty of options...

High Sierra, Joshua Tree, Las Tortugas on the smaller end, just to name a few.

Roo, 10kLakes, Rothbury, Waka, Vibes, Allgood, to name a few of the larger ones.

This is the first year for the fest and this is the way they are doing it, it's not a surprise. Maybe there's a camping beach somewhere along the coast? There's no camping in GGP as it is, but SFPD is pretty lax about it and usually just roust people from their illegal sites at 6am. Of course, those are mostly homeless people. Maybe give that a try! Ha ha ha.

Seriously, no need for the complaining, the lineup is one of the best festival lineups I have ever seen. We got a cheap motel near the park and will spend $1k for passes, hotel, gas, food and beverage. Totally 100% worth it.
