Bonnie "Prince" Billy Set to Release Another Live Album

Bonnie "Prince" Billy will release Is It the Sea?, a new live album from a show in Edinburgh, Scotland from spring 2006. The set features Oldham along with local musicians Harem Scarem and Alex Neilson performing the good Prince's vast catalog.

Is It the Sea? will hit the U.K. on October 20 from Domino. Drag City, Oldham's North American label has not announced any plans to release the album in the States yet.

And these are some of his best, steve. I hope this gets released on this side of the pond. Anyone who doesn't own I See A Darkness and Ease Down the Road, not to mention the new one Lie Down in the Light, is missing out on some of the best modern music out there. Oldham is a genius and prolific as shit. I just wish he would tour more. He has about as many releases as shows, recently anyway.

I just saw Will Oldham last night perform in Funntown in Louisville. My buddy played with him. It was great. He played mostly tunes from lie down in the light, that is a great album.

i was on my way to major matt's to remaster my old album and on the l train in the morning i was pretty sure i saw will oldham. he was wearing the same sunglasses he had onstage at the bowery ballroom...had he come to walk among the williamsburgers of his kingdom?
