David Byrne & Brian Eno Set First Tour Dates

Eno & Byrne
As we previously reported, David Byrne and Brian Eno have once again been working together on a new album with plans to tour. The first two dates, billed as "Songs of Talking Heads' David Byrne and Roxy Music founder Brian Eno," have been released. The legendary duo will play at Atlanta, Georgia's Chastain Park Amphitheater on September 20 and Santa Barbara, California's Arlington Theatre on October 4. It's assumed that we'll hear a mix of Remain in Light and Roxy Music as well as some new material, and with these two leading the charge perhaps their entire catalogs will be fair game. While few details are available on the duo's new album, their first since 1981's landmark My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, it's expected to hit later this year.

Sounds like I'm going to have to make a trip to Santa Barbera. I wonder what ticket prices are gonna look like.

Hmm... from this are we to assume that Byrne's ACL is sans Eno? Fine news, of course

this is great news. Eno is pretty rad. He saved Coldplay in my opinion. the new album reeks of Eno-isms, ala Unforgetable Fire, Joshua Tree, Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, My Life in the Bush(ell?) of Ghosts. Cant wait to hear these shows. Byrne of course is equally as brilliant. Bring it on like humans do.

1982 I got to see the heads at the forest hills tennis stadium in Queens,NY. It was a 3 hour journey of incredible music I will never forget. Was also fortunate to see Eno paly with robert Fripp and his league of gentleman at My Fathers Place in Roslyn,LI. This tour will be killer. Don't miss King Crimson if you get a chance

Got to see Byrne's last tour with the tosca strings twice and was blown away. I cannot wait for this one. Arlington Theatre is nice, however the last time I was there, (SCI) they ran out of booze and by setbreak they were down to Scotch and Gin, and they were out of beer.........AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

Sorry to bum you guys out, but I just read this on Pitchfork

"despite a Ticketmaster listing slip-up that specifically mentions "with Brian Eno", Eno will not actually be playing any of these shows, according to a Billboard.com update on an erroneous previous report. Instead, it seems Byrne alone will roll through Ghosts jams and Eno-touched Talking Heads tracks at these gigs. And hey, that's still quite a treat. More Byrne dates are expected soon."

Bummer, but the shows should still rock.
