YMSB Announce Fall Tour

YMSB

Yonder Mountain String Band has announced plans for their Fall Tour. The presale starts this Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. local venue time. Jon Fishman will be joining the band in New York on October 10 and in Philly on the October 11. Also, the annual Kinfolk Celebration show will take place at the Congress Theater in Chicago on October 18, which makes for a big weekend with shows in Milwaukee and Madison leading up to the show at the Congress.

By purchasing presale tickets, you'll automatically be entered in a contest to win a free signed Fall Tour poster, a t-shirt of your choice and a signed copy of Mountain Tracks: Volume 5. Public on sale begins Saturday, July 26.

YMSB at first avenue in Minneapolis, that will be sick, the best accoustics I have ever heard are at that place, best small music venue in the twin cities for sure. It will be nuts. To the boston person, why dont you drive the hour to go see them in vermont. People on the east coast aren't used to driving long distances at all. God I could be in the southern part of the twin cities drive an hour north and still be in the twin cities, we have sprawl!!!! Not a good thing, but it makes us sensitive to bostonians who wont drive to see a kick ass band!!!

Greenville, SC @ The Handlebar!!! This is gonna be badass!!! The Handlebar is pretty small and will probalby fall down after they rock the place out. Usually have to go to ATL or Myrtle Beach or Asheville to see these guys but not this time. Can't wait!!

Why hasnt yonder played the tabernacle in ATL in 07 or 08? The love that the seemed to have for that place and the love that was coming from the crowd the times they have played there is amazing. I would think they would keep going back. Anybody else know what im talking about? Remember that show there with futureman? Amazing

Agreed sndtribefreak!! I was at the last show they played at the Tabernacle and it was amazing!! That venue is perfect for some foot stomping wild and crazy bluegrass jammin'!! It's crazy to me that they are playing Red Rocks in a few weeks and then playing at such a small place like the handlebar that might hold 1000 people.

Re the Tabernacle:

Are they scheduling shows again? I know a bunch were moved from there after they had significant damage in the tornado in March/April. Hopefully that is in the works if they have enough progress on the building and if not Masquerade or possibly the Fox as a late addition. Cobb Energy Center is supposed to have great acoustics and could be really cool for Yonder.

chicago date has been yearly....i love the kinfolk celebration, ive been there the last 2 years

just saw em at rothbury and summerfest...greak shows...but kinfolk celebration needs at least 1 more day....like they were talking about last year

The Kinfolk Celebration is always a good time. Last year I was kind of leary about it with Fishman.. I mean yeah he's Fishman but, yonder with drums? Anyways, I was stupid to worry.. They both brought the heat and I can't wait for this year.. Too bad about Old Crow though...

What the F%*@. What happened to Atlanta? I'm sick and F#@$%n tired of everyone skipping the ATL. It might not be the best scene, but it's not the worst. We haven't gotten shit for shows so far this year, Ratdog, now YMSB. This SUCKS!!!!

Atlanta still has a shot at a Fall show, since YMSB will be back in the South for the Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival in Live Oak, FL on November 15.

Thanks for the optimism matlock. Did hoodoo say Yawn-Der. WOW, I guess some people are shocked at bands I don't like, but even if you don't like YMSB, they are anything but boring and lazy requiring a yawn. They bring crazy energy every time I have seen them.
