This was the most incredible festival I've ever been to. I've found what I'm gonna plan my summer's around for a long time now.

Rothbury just set the bar way high. My mind is blown. I didn't think it was possible. It was so incredibly well run, clean, and the music speaks for itself. I knew this one was not to be missed and I cannot wait to go back next year. To everyone who was involved putting it on, Thank You and I can't wait for next year!

BEST FEST EVER!!!!!! had the time of my life, plus Kick the Mule the night before in Grand Rapids was outstanding. No waiting at all to get in was a great way to start the fest. I was camped far as hell and I still loved it. I even saw a marriage proposal during Phil and friends. What a weekend. Lots of walking, but I loved it. pretty good review, but you missed Slightly Stoopid and Mickey Hart, who both were outstanding. What a great weekend!!!

Jealous of everyone who went, looks like it was kick ass. I agree with his WSP statement about Todd Nance, his drumming is weak. But dont get me wrong love the band, but Todd needs to do more with those drums.

WHAT KIND OF A REVIEW IS THIS??? IT's ONLY DOWNHILL FOR THIS FESTIVAL??? For anyone who read this review and didnt go to rothbury, please know that this reviewer clearly missed way too many of the amazing sets and not to mention ATMOSPHERE that this festival provided. I have been to smaller festivals than this that seemed larger-- the trouble to which the creators of rothbury went to craft a festival that could make a group so large into a true community-- IE the woods, the monkeys, fireworks, artistic displays, etc-- If you WERE there, you know what I'm talking about-- not to mention the overall positive attitude of the staff-- how laid back could they be??? I was blown away. Incredible sit ins, amazing sets, biscuits, dereck trucks, RRE, 311, so many artists gave their ALL at this fest and this reviewer must have been wearing earplugs. This is probably the most negative and incomplete festival review I have ever read on this website, and it makes me sad that someone who had such a mediocre impression of such a stellar fest is going to make people who are curious how the fest was think it is a fest without a future-- BELIEVE ME IT IS DEFINITELY NOT.

Rothbury '08 is what Bonnaroo '02 was. It was the First and it was near perfect in all aspects. I started off getting in thursday around 10:30 after waiting 3 or 4 hours in line. After setting up camp and metting our wonderfull neighboors I witnessed Kyle H. oppening the fest, good show and was one of many Cheese fix I got through the weekend. Then I hit Lotus in Disco Buiscuits. And I have talked soo much shit on this message board about how much they suck, but this show changed my opinion a little bit. Maybe it was the fact that Murph came on stage, but I remember seeing one hell of a show, Home Again was nice also, so I changed my mind on TDB they ROCKED!!Friday was allright, the Fest was in full swing and planty of party gear were being offered. (Humble Cnty Heads! Yum!). Saturday was the best STS9 was the sickest show, and the fact I got to meet the guys to get some stuff sign was what made me love it even more. And Sunday Trey and Mike gave me a Phix. I saw a lot more bands than what I listed above, I saw all the cheese projects and spend most my Days inside listening to music but I can't even list all the bands, exept for the fact that There was not one show I didn't enjoy (MMW was SICK, but yet again every shows were "Sick". I also thought the festi was well run. Water stations AT EVERY STAGES, reg. Festi prices on items (food,beer,cigs...), I recycled everything, and Smoked 7 packs over the weekend and picked everysingle one of my butts. Cops were really chill and understood what was going on very well (Cops arn't blind and can hear, I even heard tow cops in there car driving screaming "Glazed Donuts, Donuts" it was quite funny). If you were chill and didn't bother anyone you were pretty much good to go. Security was very kind with me also, I didn't have my backpack opened once. And it was easy to see what line you need to go to. I met some amazing people, but the only thing I have to complain is these dam Nitrous Tanks! Holly Shit!! I hadn't seen this many tanks in A LONG TIME!!! A group of guys were huslting them next to our camp and made $40,000!!!!!!! I guess they paid off people and cops,( idk if it's true or not). I love to party and all but these tanks are trouble. Stay away from them!! Sherwood Forest was the best inventions of any festivals. It gave you shade at all times, and a place to rest and listen to music. (Secret stage anyone?). The Sherwood forest was aslo the best way to fuck with your mind. It made everyone have the best trips, it was clearly the coolest thing of the festival. Also the sponsors were sweet as hell. Unlike Bonnaroo where you can get a free shave and some Garnier Fructis and some free Tampax, at Roth they were handing away FREE CLIFF BARS!!!! As many as you wanted! They were soo good, and are usually really expensive at stores, and I must have eaten at least a thousand dollars worth of them. Roth '09 cannot beat the first one, just like BROO 02 was the best. Oh well it's ok because from what people felt they all smelled a PHISHY reunion in the air for next summer (anyone with lowdown info. More than welcome to spit it,) Even if Phish is on Tour I'll make sure to check out Roth '09.

PS; Thanks to everyone who made this fest so special. And Trey looked very healthy, and sung BEAUTIFULLY!!!

Where To start, You all who did not go dont understand what you missed. My fav set was Micky hart band which wasnt even mentioned in the article. Kyle rocked out that stage all night long. None of the sci bands were mentioned, in this article are you crazy? My only complaint was the crazy ass woods, I spent way to much time there and missed a few cool bands bc i couldnt stop looking up. By far the best weather ever at a fest, I slept to 12 noon one day, never ever have i done that in a tent. The nitrous balloons were stupidly popular, why? Also the hottest chicks ever at a fest, I bet I danced with a hundred different beautiful girls Sat night alone. Also It should be said the porta pots were amazingly clean and always stocked with TP, I never had to play poo poo ginga or shit up. Bisco and RRE were great, also pnuma trio at the domes. STS9 was boring I thought, thievery Corp was great. There was just to much going on to see it all. Oh by the way everyone who missed the Water park missed out, It was one of the highlights of my weekend. security was really lax i brought in beer every time. I hope it dosnt get bigger i hate crowds, but this one wasnt to bad. the fireworks were great. All in All the only thing really missing was a double set of Cheese, but I guess ill wait till yarmony grass next month.

I think the author is simply "hoping outloud" that the festival organizers will keep the event as it has begun and not get to BIG! Well written review in my opinion. Fantastic pics. So wish I could have made this one. Alas, I am leaving for All Good tomorrow. I will be excited to see how High Sierra fared in terms of getting a crowd compared to this, and how All Good will fare. Did Roth take away fans from other fests? Anyway, I am on my way to my first All Good and can't wait. See ya there.

amazing festival all around. from the layout and design, to the "security", to all the beautiful music and friendly folks, everything was top notch. on a personal note....as a wheelchair user i was expecting this fest to be really rough, but i was mistaken. the folks at rothbury did an unprecedented job considering everyone's needs. i could always see, and could easily get to a port-a-jon....not to mention the fact that on numerous occasions staff asked me how my experience was. THANK YOU ROTHBURY! also, thanks to my boy greg for pushing me when.....well, i need to find that guy who gave me that crystal....i certainly wasn't expecting that during panic and primus.

-

one more thing.......i think it's a bad idea, and dangerous, for people to light big-ass fireworks off, in the middle of the crowd, during a performance. yea, it looks really cool, but it's only a matter of time before it blows up in someone's face, LITERALLY.

Great festival, great pictures, but this review is absolutely horrific. Phil and Friends had no Youthful energy? Do you know who Jackie Greene is? Althea, New Speedway Boogie, Eyes of the World, Help on the Way. That Phil and Friends set was the heat, and they sound younger than ever.

Primus was not that great, despite the review fluffing them. And if you left Bisco or Tribe after thirty minutes, then you obviously missed the point, as these were the two best shows.

Next time try reviewing the music, instead of simply trying to come up with quippy criticisms that make you sound "smart". Your writing is pretentious, and you missed the point of Rothbury.

Great pictures for sure. Really wish I was there. I think the article was mostly good, some of you are being a bit harsh. I just think he's pessimistic because of Bonnaroo's downward spiral (even though it still has merits) and the thought of doubling the size. I think it sounds and looks like a great place and they should keep it reasonably sized and avoid the Kanye Wests and 311s that drive up prices without real talent. 90% of the acts here were top notch and throwing in Snoop was cool. Props to the Biscuits crowd photographer and Yard Dogs Road Show looks like a good time. Can't wait for Mule in Columbus.

I watched most of the festival on iClips, and it didn't show me anything new. If you want to be blown away you will be. The best part about this festival was the vibe. Great weather, chill cops, and people who loved to be there. This is the second year in a row bonnaroo didn't pull a sellout crowd in the 7 year run. After this festival has shined light back on the music that we all love, hopefully they can put together "the lineup". To be honest the two years I have been to New Orleans for Jazz Fest, it has always blown every festival out of the water. That festival has made it possible for the festivals like H.O.R.D.E, Telluride, High Serria, Coachella, All Good, bonnaroo, Langerago, 10k lakes and now Rothbury. You see its not the "best festival ever", its just the first year. And were just getting warmed up.

I cant even put into words how much fun this festival was. From the best music lineup, to the absolutely insane sherwood forest to the mindblowing monkey machine, you can definetly find bits and pieces of my face at just about every inch of the double jj resort and i will definetly be there next year to pick them all up. Never did get to lay in one of those hammocks though.

My first fest and i dont think ill ever go to a better one. The atmosphere was so chill and positive the whole time. I never once felt uncomfortable or out of place. Anyone else catch the underground orchestra set? I was on my way to kyle hollingsworth and UO just dragged me in at the domes. They really impressed me, one of my fav sets of the weekend. I dont think theres a better feeling in the world then chillin in a giant pumpkin in the forest listening to sts9 in the background just takin it all in. Thanks everone who made my experience possible and the experiences of all those who attended. Only disappontment was no trey at phil. The only way roth 09 can top 08 is phish headlining.

Treys acoustic set was saucesome, specially when him and gordon played their new tune "backwards down the number line," and then to have a 3/4 phish reunion and completely buck out to "he said she said," these shows gave me chills being a huge phish phan and never getting the chance to see them...a reunion is in the works! To address Todd Nance. No he is not flashy, not a show off, and maybe he seems bored, but the band will tell you, he is a PRECISION drummer, ONE TAKE with Todd, he always gets it right. The signature drum beat, Rat> tat tat tat

is a hallmark of Panics overall sound. its true.

I usually try my hardest every year at Bonnaroo to catch the Thursday late night but always end up exausted by the time it comes. Not at this fest! I am soo glad I found my way to the Disco Buiscuits, the only band I wasn't planning on seeing made my fucking weekend, it took more than 48HOURs of music to get a new fav show. Phil Lesh was Downhill after Haynes left the stage. ( Althea still gives me chills). No Trey was a big bummer though. But I don't know, Dire Wolf was well sung by Green. Good JOb!

No mention of derek trucks? there is a reason col. bruce's into was "you heard the rest, now here is the best". Zappa was MIND BLOWING as was Primus. STS9 was a 3.5 hour dance party, but I enjoyed lotus at the domes better. How anyone could miss Taj Mahal for Rodrigo is beyond me???? I got back from Rothbury 2 days ago and I've been trying to remember to if I've ever had more fun in my life. I haven't. This festival was the shit. as soon as I saw the stages and walked through Sherwood Forest, I knew where my $250 had gone. Thursday was one of the greatest dance parties I have ever been to. Friday was awesome bc Panic fans took over the festival. STS9 killed it it. The new music sounds great. I wish the Crystal Method could have played all night (damn scheduling conflicts). The lights and sound were phenomenal at every show. The entire weekend was a feast for the senses. I will be back as long as the lineup stays solid. Thank you Rothbury, for everything, especially my new found love of the Disco Biscuits.

And really? Are people seriously complaining about the amount of Nitrous Tanks? What's next? Too many ganja goo balls? Too much music?

I would like to ask the author of this article if he was actually at the fest or if he ever went into the fest grounds? Were you blowing cock the whole weekend? this is the worst review i have ever read. Lotus at the tripolee dome was insane and then the tDB were on fire. I was disappointed i missed RRE becuase i really wanted to see them but tDB were insane. Friday Primus was ridiculous. YMSB i don't know how you could have missed any of there set, it was awesome. The DMB show was good but i was hoping for trey to make an apperence and i thought they played too many of there popular songs, but i do agree with you on the seek up and too much jams. I did not have fun at STS9, i just wasnt into it at all, plus im pretty sure i was the only one at that show not on drugs. I hope they can change my mind in Chicago in a couple of weeks. Treys set was just cool to see him back, very mellow. Thank you for the new songs. Mike gordons set was awesome, not only because of how phishy it was, but his new album will definatly be a must buy. Gov't mule blew my mind, the hunger strike dear mr. fantasy was sweeeett. And lastly, What made me hate this Review and article and can not show any respect to the author (i really don't think he attended this show) Phil Lesh and Friends was one of the all around greatest shows ive ever been to...I would like to ask the Author, Are you blind and Deaf? You obviously could not hear or see JACKIE GREENE! I may have the biggest man crash on this young musician, he is insane. He is like no other musician of this generation. and on top of that Phil Lesh is his mentor right now, this kid is going to be insane soon! But my phil story is i was sitting front row to the right, before the show some guy was so waked out and gave away about 45 doses and was like "Dead Family" i was shocked at how everybody in the whole section willing dosed. But for being first row at a show I've never ever ever ever had so much room to dance, there was soooo much room. and Sugaree when Jackie Greene was wailing soo hard he broke his guitar string, it was madness. They Festival was an A++. I was only disappointed in a couple ways I missed to many bands i wanted to see and it was a LONG walk from our campsite to the venues, but thats just how big festies are..There was also TOO many drugs there, it seems that everyone was always out of there minds. I mean i dabble but i just didnt like how many people were wacked out of there minds..mostly at STS9. But I did love it will prob do it one more year before it gets to big..

these words and images hardly even begin to scratch the surface of how utterly amazing this festival experience was. that being said, my own rothbury experience also seemed to hardly even scratch the surface of this magical festival's entirety... there were just so many amazing things to see, hear, and touch everywhere you turned. the biggest omission from this review was most definitely mickey hart's set, which was a hands-down highlight of the weekend for me. i must confess that i'm feelin' pretty melancholy after my return to the real world, but will certainly treasure these memories for a long time to come. thanks everyone who help put this festival together, it one of the best weekends of my life... i'll see you all next year!

Did anyone else check out Dead Confederate? There was only about 50 people there I think, but it was a good set. These kids will be big. Also, never was a DBT fan until I saw them at Rothbury. Now I'm hooked for good. My only complaint was the 2.5 hr deadspace during DMB. Must've been a contractual thing to not allow any other band to play during his set...DUMB. Dave wouldn't even let the monkeys dance.

mcnafh - i saw the last 4 or 5 songs of Dead Confederate. They were really good, but it was hot as hell out and too early to really get down. Comparable to some of the DBT like Angels and Fuselage or some other dark jams. I'm gonna need to track down some of their stuff.

Wow, did somebody not get enough sleepy time at Rothbury....too much music to go run and see..poor baby. This festival was hands down phenomenal, the vibe was wonderful, everyone including the artists were thrilled to play. I met Jeff Austin on Thursday night and they had never been excited to play a festie. If you dont go next year, boo urns to you i say, it was great. Peace and Blessings.

Why does Jambase have asshats like this write reviews? It's obvious the author has limited musical experiences. Phil's first set was one of the better ones I've heard in a long time, and his lineup right now is smoking. Warren gets no love as usual, I guess he didn't dress up and entertain like "of montreal", get real man, Warren's got more talent in his pinky than those clowns will ever possess. Lotus gets a "meh"? HAHAHA, whatever man. Does not even mention the Gordon/Trey/Fish- meat. I mean what the hell.

This Kid who wrote this review absolutely missed the boat! KID go back to Boneroo! You missed some of the most amazing shows. Mikey Hart, Railroad Earth stole the show on Thursday. Yonder had people dancing in a frenzy! Trey was the worst show of the week. JJ Grey was super dirty! Dave Mathews won overs a ton of hippies! Panic sounded as loud and clear as I have ever heard! STS9 was pure insanity. I have never seen a crazier crowd in my life. Phil and Friends made my old deadhead friend shed a tear! Then there were the MONKEYS!!!!!!!

nice review, cal. this fest was massive on many levels and the review and comments just reminded me of how much i missed! of Montreal was fortunate to have such a cushy slot between panic sets, guaranteeing them the drugged out audience they've not quite gotten at the more urbane festivals. later friday night, we got a real treat with flosstradamus' set closing mash-up of twista and sigur ros and then diplo(!) jammed 'paper planes'. i felt as if we could have been anywhere, a club in ibiza, a beach party in malaysia, or the woods of michigan. the most memorable part of the fest was wandering into the think tank in search of indoor plumbing, only to be subjected to the incoherent ramblings of kang from sci talking about how "if we can... if everybody just... there is a climate ready for change... with the internet we can communicate... there's never been... if every one here tells five people..." it was like a mary kay party, but with molly. there was a badass shakedown st in the campground, though i agree the kids gotta calm down with the balloons. it makes a mess. what about jamming to sgt peppers by the beach saturday morning? i have to admit its getting better.

An amazing weekend and an epic festie. The review of the festival is so out of touch with the "scene". I mean I went to a Rothbury festival this weekend too but by reading this review I'm not so sure we were at the same festie, although the pics do look familiar. Maybe I'm stubborn, but why send someone that hasn't seen Herring w/ Panic yet or someone that doesn't understand the magic of Phil, Jambase? The Secret Machines were definitely the hidden gem of the weekend, and I do agree with the reviewer on that one. STS9 the most anticipated set of the weekend? That's just silly talk. I've never heard help>slip>franks with the spins that Molitz and Greene put on it. Stellar Phil show.

I read this review yesterday when it was first posted. I wanted to let some of you that attended the Festi give some feedback. I must say after reading the review a 2nd time....i feel that he just didnt do enough drugs!!

But seriously...I live in TN so as long as I have Bonnaroo right down the Rd, I will have a blessed summer.

I think its time we all stop the hate and be happy that we have variety and a choice. With the economy in the state its in depending on where you are from, we as music lovers should be thankful that the opportunity to see music in your local Region, is still available. I know that I was very happy when Superfly purchased the farm in Manchester. Just as the people of the Great Lakes Region are very happy that Rothbury was so sucessful in MI.

Be thankful that we have choice of festivals for which we may attend. Back in the late 90's early 00's....the festival scene looked pretty down and out.

Rothbury sounded sick!!!! What was up with Sherrwood Forrest? Did the Thievery Corp blow it up? Give me some answers people???

Does anyone have Mike's set yet or know where I can DL it? Hey Burningpig, if you dont know already, STS9's whole scene is spun out kids. But whats with all the drug bashing on here. Sounds like a narco-anti drug commercial. As far as nitrous goes, if it upsets you than you all obviously never graced the lots of a Phish show in Indy or Philly or Camden or Albany or Cincy or .....anywhere east coast! LOL. Anyone needs tanks, come to Indy and get your fill on, seriously. As long as its in a non-medical tank your straight. Anyone with problems about N20 should read William James's classic The Varieties Of Religious Experience, the whole thing was written on gas. I dont buy it at shows because of the people who distribute it, but we grab tanks and have parties and never have had any problems.

HOLY CRAP where to begin!! Worth every penny to drive from Idaho. Kyle opened it all up. Lotus was one of the best shows for me. P-Groove was filthy. Biscuits were good. No coverage of Railroad Earth?? They brought it on the Sherwood Court stage. And EOTO after that? nothing? Come on.

The 4th of July was easily the best day that I've ever had. TLG, Yonder, Keller, Panic, PRIMUS!!!! I think the author really was wrong about Keller and the WMD's>> it was easily one of the best shows that he put on with a band. AND YONDER--my calves almost cramped up from dancing so hard. DMB on Sat. was the worst set I think that I've ever seen (imo). BUt STS9 blew it up for me- sickness. Sherwood Forest was phenominal. SUNDAY!! Rod y Gab were awesome- they really rip it. And you could just smell something PHISHY was going on when Trey took the stage and a microphone about Gordo's height was set up next to him. Then Gordo's set!! Mule was good as usual. ANd the author couldn't have been more wrong about the PHIL show. It was great as well>> that Sugaree and Fire on the Mountain--WOW

I do have to agree that the Nitrous was a bit overkill. I'm down for having a good time come on (I saw one dude go face down after sucking his balloon down--a little ridiculous. And the security was way chill, you just had to find the right person. Best time of my life!! oh yeah and THE MONKEYS (anyone who wasn't there YouTube "Burning Man Monkey's). Best Fest of 08--and Jambase fire the author of this review please

As for the guy who fell face down... well let's just say he shoulda taken a seat before inhaling. I only do that lying down usually.

For the rest of my summer I think I'm going to hit up some smaller festivals. I really want to go to Yarmony, and southern Illinois has a great festival Labor Day weekend, Strip Mines Fest. Should be a Great time down there with Garaj Mahal, groovatron, future rock, fgc, zmick, and a lot more.

I am disappointed by this review of Rothbury. I was there and it was completely out-of-this-world amazing, one of a kind fest. The author of this article missed some of the best sets and hardly touched down on the awesomeness of the others. No mention of the new Robert Hunter material debuted at Mickey Harts set? EVERYONE BROUGHT IT AT ROTHBURY. EVERY SET MELTED MY FACE! The giant smoke cloud Yonder had us make purposely during Two Hits was fuckin insane and Snoop was so fucked up he called us East Lansing several times it was hilarious! The Sherwood Forest was the best part of the fest if you weren't at the music. After the last set of the night I would always find myself in the woods until they kicked us out. PRIMUS WAS SO DEEP AND DARK THAT I WENT OUTTA MY MIND!! I BALLED MY EYES OUT AT TREY! 3/4 OF PHISH DURING MIKES SET!!!!! Bottom line: Sick fest, best i've ever been too, kynd people, kynd music, kynd buds. I quote Franti when I call Rothbury "The most beautiful festival in North America". I think I saw 5 cig butts on the ground the entire time. Everyone/thing was PERFECT.

I'm a little surprise about the Sound Tribe Reviews from some of you guys. I do admit at least EVERYONE was just LIT UP! I'd say 65% (incl. me) were Rolling their bawls off!! But hey I need that heavy basse you know. I was soo EMO during Trey it wasn't even funny. So where do you guys find people to write these articles? I mean first time seeing WS with Herring or w/e. Bashing Phil, ( Althea with Haynes for CHRIST SAKES!!!) I do understand the point of the author (it's all downhill from here). Why make it bigger? I thought the number of people were perfect, and tickets were available at the gates all the way up to Saturday ( I think I read this in a news art.)Next year will def. sell out just keep it like it is.

ZPZ was phenomenal, on a side note. I'm a devout Zappa fan and I was worried that Dweezil was going to butcher it, but not the case at all. Talented guitarist, talented band (that saxaphonist was GREAT) and they played just like they just enjoyed hearing Frank's music. Great way to start the w/e after warming up w/ Underground Orchestra - good keyboardist- and P Groove. God that was an awesome weekend; reality kind of sucks huh?

Sometimes folks are funny. Bashing a review or the reviewer him/herself. First, consider how few people are willing to actually review a show or festival.

Anyone that was there (or anyone that's been to a festival for that matter) understands it's impossible to cover every show. I personally would have liked to read about the SCI side projects, especially considering how fresh they all are. THANKS to Iclips.net I was able to watch the Kyle set in full... LOVED IT!!!

Anyway, I wish more of you would be a bit more appreciative for this person's words and thoughts. The same respect should be extended to all that review and photograph shows and festivals. There is such a thing as a polite response or comment.

This festival was the best festival i have ever been too , STS9 was deffinetly the biggest dance party and my favorite show of the weekend all the people who are bashing that show must of been in a bad state of mind from the DMB show before or just do not like electronic music because i have been to about 20 STS9 shows now all over the US including Hollywood, Bonnaroo, All Good , and Langerado and none of them compared to the intensity of that Rothbury show. Lotus was absolutely disgusting too, and the biscuits show was good at the beginning and the end but the middle was boring. Widespread absolutely tore it up , and snoop deff got the party going. This was kind of a weak review .. but STS9 deff took the fest over and by far had the best light show of the weekend by far in my mind, but what we all gotta realize is everyone has their tastes and preferences and what gets one person going might make another bored.Overall every band i feel brought their A game and we all definetly shared in an amazing experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

i wanna know why carl disappeared.

Great fest, but depending on lineup and expected amount of peoplez, ill join in next year. i was able to see 30 bands, more or less most of their sets...that alone was worth moneyz @ 10$ a band. But i spent nearly 600 all weekend all in all, walked back home with like 30 bucks.

The camping situation is slightly annoying, we got in early about 4 am on thursday, search in car was non-existant, we camped about 5 minutes from the main gate at tower 3 on shakedown.

only complaints are less waiting at main gate, more water, CHEAPER FOOD AND BEER FOR GOD SAKE, dont EVER let the Porto-pottys hold so much they overfill the seat. the search at the front gate sometimes required dinner afterwords(just cause i got it through anways, still SUCKS)

horse people need LIGHTS on those damn things, almost got ran over, poop + my bare feet = stupid,

i LOVED the forest, junk yard(until they took the drum), monkey shit scared me 1st night.

walking 1 mile to main stage is annoying though....wish there were trees to camp in

as for treys set, i loved it, havent heard much phish until that night, ever since my last show at alpine, both nights...and for him to play "THe inlaw josie wales" that was just nutz, wiki says hasent been played in about 8 years....

ILL BE BACK rothbury, just dont fuck it up and bring more people and if you book metallica and similar artists, i might reconsider. (i love metallica in old form, not bashing them)

Panicathome, I'm sorry you couldn't make it to this festie, but to say that when you write something it comes with decades of experience just makes you sound like a dumbass. We don't give a fuck how many shows you've seen, if you weren't there, it's because you don't have enough "EXPERIENCE" to know that this was going to be a festival to go down for the ages. Which it was. Sorry you missed it bro, and I'm sure you'll be one of those people in 10 years that says you went to the first one. It would probably sound something like your last comment. My reaction to the article when I first started reading was damn this fest must have sucked. But I know better so I quit reading. The author acts like he was being forced to go to some crappy church service or a frat party or something. I am usually not a flamer, but this author is pompous bitch that has no business reviewing music. So many preconcieved negative notions going in its really pathetic. This aint the first Roo so get over yourself asshole.

The irony is that pricks like you don't just stay home so we can continue to love the sweet sounds of Phil, the Dead, WSP,without your sanctamonious bullshit ruining our good time. Although the music was epic no doubt I am glad I met nobody like this author at the fest I attended over the fourth.

Come on Jambase you can do better than this clown.

What a GRATE festival! It was an experince that will be hard to match. There were so many choices to make but I don't think one could ever make a bad choice. No one has mentioned Panjea who I thought brought it. The Phil show was remarkable my fourth and the best this year, the reviewer must have been done by then not to be impressed, but bored come on now. Everyone I talked with loved it. I also enjoyed Mickey Hart, Railroad Earth, the Soul Stew revival, YMSB, Keller and the WMD's, Emmitt/Nershki and everyone else I saw. STS9 wore me out I had to go lie down. I was exhausted from dancing everyday. It should always be like that. The effort to be green was infectous and you saw trash being picked and sorted all day long. The forest, the monkeys the crowd, the staff, they all made this one festival to remember. If it doesn't grow too big and the line up continues to kick ass, I will be back. Oh and I got some really good lessons on hooping.

I've been to all the fests and this was one of the best. I stayed in Muskegon and traffic getting in each day was cake (even Thursday). Highlghts were: Zappa, Snoop, Widepsread, Primus, MMW, Derek & Susan (amazing), Pnuma Trio, Rodrigo, Mule and Pnuma PA (closed the fest with a bang). Some artists went on late and thus sets were cut short, but the place was clean, food was ok and the fans were outstanding! Who hires these ppl to write reviews of these fests? I could do a much better job...

I glad to say I attended the inaugural Rothbury. It was great. I've been to Bonnaroo a few times and love the big festival scene. There are definitely some good points made in this article about how expansion of these types of festivals can definitely ruin them. I really hope they don't double the capacity b/c that will definitely screw up this fest (warning: i going to vent on some of the negatives before I compliment this wonderful festival.) I also agree with the comment made by someone earlier in this forum: TOO MANY DRUGS! I expreiment and have a great time, but music festivals should have music as the main focus. Drugs should only be used to enhance your experience. It seems as if more and more people become braindead by Saturday night, and it seems as if the music is just something in the background. It seemed almost depressing by Saturday night; late night. I was pretty sober this night and I felt like everyone around me was a zombie! All right, enough negatives though. This festival was set up just about perfect, great psycedelic scenery(Sherwood Forest) and an almost unstoppable lineup. My favorite shows were Thievery Corporation(everything I expected and more); Widespread Panic (first time seeing a full show from them) and Pnuma Trio (wow, great young band on STS9's record label, definitely catch these guys soon) Anyways, I thought I'd comment-and to wrap up, don't turn this festival into Bonnaroo!!

I'm sry but the comments with too much drugs, no one forced you to take any right>?? And that's what happen when you throw a JAM Festival! It's a PARTY!

PS. I'll always be there for the music though! Bonnaroo is the best example I stoped going becuase the music started getting shitty, and the drugs are still there from what I heard. ( I also heared some people getting shakendown on shakedown street by cops, if you had anything but some personal heads they would cut of your wrist band and kick you out. This is coming from peeps I talked to at Roth who went there)

I've been to 10k for 5 years and waka for 2 and i will never miss rothbury as long as there is air in my lungs. Panic life during wartime lit the place on fire. soundtribes played for 3 1/2 hours and it was a acid circus. atmosphere gained about 5,000 fans from their performance. PHISH is absolutely getting back together we know that now(first little rumors, then rumors from actually band members, then little performances together, then a 3 of them play together, i mean where do i have to book my ticket for new years or holloween?) triple domes stage is the stage of the future! monkeys =scary.. Finally the forest is what made this festival fucking unbelievable...there was a seceret stage in their with a bunch of huts and budda art work all around in there it was somthing i'll never forget.. i love rothbury lets go back next year and do it again. by the way props to the review you can't go to all the shows right?!?! if you where there you knew what went down.

i don't care if this guy hates, but he doesn't have any clue what he's talking about. when he says that 2 out of the 3 headliners (WSP and Phil) were kind of meh.... its completely rediculous. The overwhelming consensus thought both where amazing. Kayce - you definitely should have covered this.

Oh ye of little fests, it's high time we loyal readers demand from Jambase psot at least 5 points of veiw for each of the top 10 throw downs each year. One look at the lineup and you had to know, no way could one person cover it with any sense of justice. This lineup was just sickness, the fact everyone brought it so hard-just look at the competition, it was kill or be killed. Bands make reputations, or in the case of tDB, earn them, by bringing it hardest at peak moments in peak fests. But I'm still pissed about Dave's (nay Kanye's) demand to be the only act for 2.5 hours, that was just wrong, but hey, he brings out the super hot chicks-guaranteed every time. Also, everyone loves a nitrous tank, when it's not next to your campsite-thanks jackholes. And what's up with any shady heisting of ipods and other gear from inside tents or chairs at the fest-you thieves will suffer in the lowest circle of hell next to traitors and child-molesters. Finally, double the size would be a real heartbreak. I'm guessing another $100 million dollars in tickets sales couldn't hurt the talent buyers or spectacle makers-AEG Live and Madison House spent every penny brilliantly. Look out Superfly and AC. Great memories and great pics.

Rothbury was everything I could have expected and more. When I first saw the schedule I was pretty pissed that Thursday was such a clusterfuck, but it will go down as THE best Thursday at a festival ever. I mean I had wanted to see Mickey, Lotus, tDB, RRE, and EOTO in their own time slots and felt there were a few times throughout the weekend where they would have been better suited, but the way things worked out could not have made me any happier. After catching most of Kyle from a hammock in the woods, I went up just in time for George Porter Jr. to come out and rock it. Next I wandered over to what may have been my favorite show of Thursday and def one of the top of the weekend; THE JUAN MCLEAN at the Domes! I cannot believe in 100+ comments no one has mentioned this amazingly danceable sundown set. Only Crystal Method brought the heat harder than he did. After a bit of Mickey, I decided to hit up Lotus, because the domes are probably the coolest venue theyve ever played, and they stepped up to the occasion. Bellweather > Flower Sermon dedicated to Juan Mclean was grrrrreat. Beginning of Biscuits was the best part of the show, and I agree with everyone else that they really snatched some new fans. SO many people around us had no idea who they were, but were changed forever by that show. Then EOTO at the domes to cap the night off, man what an unbelievable unforgettable dance party that was.

Friday the 4th was tight with TLG, Snoop, Yonder with Fish, Panic, Primus, and Pnuma. Thanks so much for the fireworks!! They made my night

I also want to comment on Saturday night. During the lull that was the Dave set, we were drinking in the RV trying to decide how the night should go. I hadnt been to the Wagon Wheel yet so I decided to check some Motion Potion before I hit STS9. Man was I glad I did. While the rest of the festival crammed into the Ranch Arena, I had an entire dance floor and bar almost completely to myself while MoPo spun some crazy mash-ups including a full Talking Heads greatest hits it seemed: Crosseyed, Making Flippy Floppy, Wartime, and Once in a Lifetime. Seriously if you didnt make it to a late night in the Wagon Wheel you missed one of the most intimate and spectacular parts of the fest. I cant describe how much happier I was with the four people sharing the wagon wheel than trying to cram myself in to see another Tribe show. Ive seen them about 10 times now, and Arigato and Aimlessly still sound the EXACT SAME as they did the first time I heard them. The new tunes werent all that exciting either. Anyway, Motion Potion informed us that he would be throwing down on the secret stage till 3am, so after a bit of DJ Rootz and a disappointing walk through the tribe crowd (see - new song and Arigato) we found ourselves at the best kept secret of the festival. There were only about 20 people getting down at first but the crowd ballooned to about 50 crazy folks dropping their craziest dance moves at a little stage in the forest. And the party didnt stop there as we all wandered over to The Crystal Method, who as described before was smashing skulls with some of the most incredible DJ work i'll ever see, Im convinced. Thank you Rothbury for the greatest late night of my life.

I know im totally overdoing it, but I gotta say something about the Trucks/Tedeschi Soul Stew. I was stone cold sober at the show and it was STILL top 5 of the weekend for me. Such a well crafted band, choice covers, and a true love of music eminating from these folks - it was impossible not to get down. Thanks guys for bringing the SOUL!!

Peace

Kick the McGee in a mostly empty Intersection in the middle of a raging storm was an awesome way to start the weekend (I love weekends that start on Wednesday). I wanted to be in two places at once most of the festival. It was my first EOTO show and I was impressed. They have a very rich sound that I didn't expect them to have. Glad I decided to leave the DB's and check them out. Widespread blew my mind. I have not seen them much in recent years, and did NOT expect what I got on the 4th. The Tripoli domes were way too cool to exist for only four days. The domes had a "club in the middle of the woods" feel. I got to Keller early to get a good spot, and despite what the writer says, I had an absolute blast. Primus and STS9 at the Ranch were way too crowded for my taste. I would have liked to see those two shows at the Odeum with the same time slots. My first STS9 show looked like an LED toy convention. I really couldn't get into them like I thought I would. I think all the kids too spun out for their own good, wandering aimlessly through packed crowd, falling on top of me didn't help. Maybe I was just in an unlucky spot. An alternative to DMB would have been nice and would have guaranteed a smaller crowd at whatever band that would've played then. I love Taj Mahal, it was my 4th time seeing him and he did not disappoint. He seemed to be in great spirits, and it was one of my favorite sets of the weekend. And since I didn't see anyone else try to explain it, here it goes. For those who didn't make it, Sherwood Forest is the best non musical thing I have ever seen at a festival. The pics can't do it justice. The lights beaming up through the trees are the same high quality "smart lights" you see on stage. They move, change color, change patterns, spin, strobe, all in sequence together. The ground in the woods has no undergrowth and is virtually a giant bed of pine needles, perfect to throw a blanket down to lay on. This vid is OK, it was much brighter in there than it looks, but it gives you a better idea:

Uncomprehensible, miraculous, unreal, and I'm just trying to help those who didn't go slightly. You can't describe the feelings and experiences that were gained from this weekend. What separates Tea Leaf Green from other bands is their exquisite songwriting ability and beautiful lyrics. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent instrumentalists and can bring the heat when needed, but their true alure lies in the cohesiveness of their songs and the early 70's rock sincerity they bring to them. In today's age of electronic and progressive jam-based music, which I love and respect very much, it has become acceptable to undermind song structure for more intricate compositions and for bands to utilize mediocre lead singers. This is not the case with TLG. Trevor, their lead singer, has a gorgeous voice and is a groundbreaking lyricist. In most cases, TLG starts with a great idea for a song and then builds a nice full jam around that tune. It's only at a TLG show that you can hear songs about hiding from the government in canyons, revolutionary slaves, alcoholism, moving to a farm with a bunch of your friends, the evils of gambling, making music with your father, etc. As "jam band" fans we have become accustomed to the actual notes of a musical work meaning more than the lyrics, and that's perfectly fine (Phish is still number one in my heart), but the opposite of this very quality is what makes TLG unique. The columnist may have had the distinct misfortune of catching TLG during a rare lazy daytime festival set, but the answer to the question "What sets Tea Leaf Green apart from other bands?", should be perfectly clear to everyone who gives them a good listen...like them or not.

Sickest fest ever. Agree with most comments here except...

Too many drugs? Never felt that way at all. People did their thing, I did mine, and I witnessed way more passion for music than I have in a long time... the drugs were a non-issue.

Dave Matthews didn't DEMAND a set time all to himself. That's just what almost always happens with all headliners at festivals. But, it's so cool to hate on Dave, everybody has to say something. I was with lots of skeptical first-tiers who gave them a chance and really enjoyed the show. Give the guy a break.

Great festie! I was at the first year of B'roo and would compare it to that. There was a really cool vibe going. Sherwood Forest was the teets. Panic was having a blast as were we. If this was the reviewers first show with Herring, then he's likely just spouting off something he overheard on the way to or from the show that he thought might make him sound knowledgeable on the subject. C'mon, dude. We're talking about the Rock here. STS9 blew it up too. I don't know how they kept playing with fireworks being shot at them, but I'm glad they did. first off, best festival I have ever attended. This review takes the cake for worst review relative to the awsomeness of the event that jambase has ever written. The tone sounds as though he/she (the author) is negative and then says its good. So you liked it??? I DONT EVEN KNOW? did you go to school to learn how to write?? I hope not because that is one piss poor school, seriously??? email me back tell me I'm wrong ill be happy to have a disgussion with you, we probobly know some of the same people. I'M IN FOR THIS FESTIE FOR LIFE AS LONG AS JOB AND PHISH (crosses fingers) PERMIT. DUDE A WATER PARK AND GOLF how you could have one negative syllable

Pluses= the music (Trey, Bisco, RRE, WSP, Phil+Frnz, Franti, YMSB w/F, Gomez, Snoop, Lotus, Keller +WMDs, and just about everything else), the production values (the awesomes stages, the Sherwood Forest, sound systems, the layout, the easy in, easy out, trippy visuals, the recycling effort, and great flow,), and great food with plenty of variety.

Minuses= the not so clean portapotties (especially in the beginning), the tight security entering the festival grounds (mostly later than earlier in the festival with pipes, weed, beer, and everything else being taken away), lack of ice availability at various times, to tight of camping space (we were in the same site as our neighbors), more drinking water in the camping areas (everyone was drinking the non potable water), and make the lake more swimmer friendly (not merky and mushy).

Summary, the best festival ever. Thank you to AEG and Madison House and all others involved in throwing the coolest festival ever. I am only mentioning these things so that they may be improved upon next year. As far as growing the festival, I hope you keep it the exact same size. If needed, raise prices and sell it out year in and year out. We who loved it will return if the music remains comparable. There were a lot of people there this year and more people may alter the flow of the festival. Thank you to everyone for making this the best and most memorable festival and weekends ever!

So did anyone go to Bonnaroo AND Rothbury? If so can we get a list of pros and cons from each and there opinion on whether or not it would be worth the extra 10 or so hours in the car for me next Summer. I drive from Tampa to Roo every year.

Da Shit: Mike+Trey+Jon (dats wassup), Phil, Sherwood forest, STS9, the monkeys (fuck yeah!!!), RRE, yonder, keller and WMD's, panic, bassnectar, lotus, EOTO, snoop-a-loop, franti, just about everything else.

Lame: Bisco (i've tried so many times but they always seem to blow, and i caught a ton of bad vibes from their super intense fans. hopefully next time bisco wont be on the line up)

Rothbury was the greatest. Best 4th of July weekend ever!!

^^^^ I always tried to see Bisco and always thought the same thing, but this Rothbuy set changed my mind. I saw the hottest girls who were Bisco fans ( maybe more than Dave), and I didn't see TOO many sketchy mofo's, and their set was pretty good. But hey, whatevery floats your boat.

Ps. I just got the Sts9 set SBD format and it's epic!!!!!!!!!

^^^ I completely agree. I've talked a lot of shit about Bisco on here, because I had never had a good experience at a show in four tries before this. Between the (sometimes) sketchy crowd and some seriously sloppy playing, I had written them off. But holy shit, after that I-Man>Digital Buddha>Run Like Hell>Digital Buddha... fuck me runnin that was epic. Those guys can rage. I've seen the light. I really like it when bands give me reasons to keep comin back.

though i didnt attend this festival, i know many who did. and i feel that this review was written poorly. alot of areas and bands not recongnized and it seems kinda negative in some areas. i heard nothing but positive responses about this festival, and i feel someone else probably should have written this review. keep the good festivaties comin cause i'm on for next year!

Wow, this festival was awesome.

And wow, this review sucks.

"Tea Leaf Green needs to find something soon to separate itself from the pack besides just Josh Clark's guitar prowess. Friday's set was a good example of the group's standard attack: good musicianship, fluid jams, nothing too intense and all too derivative. There is a thread of sameness that links many, many jam bands together, but the really good ones develop something unique that transcends this makeshift genre, and Tea Leaf Green hasn't found its something yet."

Apparently you didn't notice the new bassist, which is making them sound alot better, how could you fail to mention that you idiot? Do your research on a band before you try and critique them.

"I'm sure Keller Williams' WMDS looked on paper like a plan that couldn't possibly fail, but so far, Keller has proven to be more of a lone craftsman than a collaborative artist. When you remove his ability to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, it's probably an enjoyable challenge for him but it gets tedious for me. These are all great musicians; this just isn't their band. Given time, maybe they'll coalesce, but apart from a few bright spots, this set felt more like an exercise than a performance. It also revealed that Keller's normal voice isn't strong enough for a rock band; he sounds best accompanied only by himself."

Keller has been playing with the WMDs for awhile now, because alot of people like it. This wasn't a "new idea on paper being tried" and didn't suck. You suck at writing go back to WR101

oh, and shame on you jambase for allowing such a horrible review to be posted. if it weren't for the pictures i would have lost all respect for this website. yall really need to find some new writers...maybe someone with good taste in music who i dunno goes to good shows and actually knows a little bit about the band members...ya know someone who is actually part of the scene...just a thought.

Rothbury was an amazing experience and I can only hope that the lineup next year could match this one -- it cant man, because the energy from people and all the musicians was really breathe taking. I found that all musicians were at the top performances that i have heard in my life.

Widespread Panic - blew me away PORCH SONG

Phil Lesh & Friends - great show loved warren haynes, great show, bad encore song - HERE COME SUNSHINE and help on way-slipknot-franklin!!!

STS9 - threw down a 3:30 hour straight set of some funky shit

Thievery, Snoop, Wailers, Pnuma, Mickey Hart, EOTO were all really fun shows

Great set up, hope to get a cabin next year if the lineup is good

Not a big fan of the review, didnt see most the shows but thats the fun in rothbury that there is so many show to get into that all the different crowds of people go to their shows they want to see and everyone is enjoying it

to TheHurricane23----your full of shit. I was at roth, and it was as expensive as any other festival, and the police presance was VERY SMALL. I beleive I read there were under 40 arrests total, which is REALLY good when your talking about over 30000 people. Bottom line, go ahead and hate on Rothbury, but it won't change the fact that YOU MISSED IT. maybe next year, crybaby. Also, I'm not "rich", but if I had the means, I'd rent a cabin myself, it's just alot better than living in a tent for 4 days. AND I'M VERY GLAD PEOPLE LIKE YOU WON'T "BRING YOURSELF BACK TO HUGE CORPORATE SPONSERED EVENTS" BECAUSE THE REST OF US LOVE THE FEST, EACH OTHER, AND HAD A WONDERFUL WEEKEND WITHOUT A BUNCH OF EGOTISTICAL ASSHOLES LIKE YOU. So, lose your shitty "know-it-all" attitude and your more than welcome to join all of us fun/music-loving people at the BURY next year....or keep the shitty attitude and take it to which ever fest you decide is right for you.(although I wouldn't doubt it if you weren't even at All Good this year)

I like hurricanes comments considering there were only 17 total arrests over 4 days and as far as getting in the venue it was getting asked do you have any glass...no, do you have any knives including pocket knives....no, do you have any narcotics......no, then they let us drive right in without checking anything or anyone in the car and I know it was like this for at least 95% if not more of the vehicles entering the grounds, how else could there be god knows maybe over 50 nitrous tanks in the lot and 2 nitrous tanks at the widespread set....this was one of the least polices events I have been to Went, IT, Cypress and 3 Bonnaroos, every summer camp (which is fairly lax and this by far was the most lax as far as security goes, 17 arrests dude and you could find anything you wanted at anytime of the day...better check your facts about the police presence, not to mention the mounted police letting anyone who wanted pet their horses....hands down most lax police presence i have seen anywhere... i was not at all good but here are some comments from the myspace page all good was amazing for the 5th year in a row thank you sooo much.

I agree with everyone else the cops were a bit ridiculous this year i feel badd for whoever got caught ive never seen so many cops ready to arrest people for nothing

Nothing like this at Roth:

4 arrested for felonies at All Good: 3 others arrested in Monongalia County

Jul 15, 2008 (The Dominion Post - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --

West Virginia State Police and Preston County Sheriff's deputies made a number of felony drug arrests Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the All Good Festival, held at Marvin's Mountaintop Campground outside Masontown.

State Police Senior Trooper Isaac Harmon of the Kingwood detachment said he arrested three men for possession with intent to deliver. In their possession, he said, were a smorgasbord of drugs. Sheriff's Deputy John Bryan made a fourth arrest.

Kenneth A. Winters, 33, of Hilo, Hawaii, had Ecstasy, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms and "shroom candy" in his possession, Harmon said, along with more than $5,000 in cash. Winters is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Also arrested for possession with intent to deliver were Dave A. Menendez, 36, of Fairmont; Lucas Daniel McConahy, 21, of Zelienople, Pa.; and Zachary Paul Aaronson, 27, of Millsboro, Del. Aaronson was arrested by Bryan.

Counterfeit $20 bills were also found at the festival, Harmon said.

Police made 50-60 stops for traffic violations in two days, Harmon said. In addition to felony arrests, he said there were nearly a dozen misdemeanor citations.

A State Police K-9 unit was also used.

Mon County

Three people in the area for All Good were arrested in Monongalia County, deputies reported.

Jennifer Lynn Jump, 20, of Grafton, Ohio, Dennis Lane Fosdick, 22, of Medina, Ohio and Ryan James Smith, 22, of Columbus, Ohio were each charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Monongalia County Sheriff's Deputy Ralph L. Wright pulled over Jump's van as she was driving on W.Va. 7 East because the registration light was burned out, he said in a police report.

According to the report, after the vehicle was pulled over, a deputy saw Smith, who was sitting in the back seat, stuff something in his pants. Wright said the vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana.

Wright said he contacted the sheriff's department's K-9 unit to search the vehicle.

According to the police report, Jump's black duffel bag contained 3.5 ounces of marijuana in plastic containers and plastic bags; Fosdick's brown duffel bag had 3.2 ounces of marijuana in a plastic container, and Smith's brown duffel bag had 3.4 ounces of illegal mushrooms in a plastic bag.

The deputies also found a white plastic bag in a beer box, which had about 31 marijuana brownies in it, according to the report. Three boxes of plastic zipper-seal bags were found under the passenger seat.

Jump, Fosdick and Smith posted bail at $10,000 each

SMOKEY....you smoked yourself retarded. AC superfly is a HUGE corporation, far bigger than Madison House that put together Rothbury. Between Bonnaroo, Vegoose, Outside Lands, and everything else they are involved with, AC Superfly is LOADED. Either way, I could care less who put it together and promoted it, cause in the end I had a blast, and that's really all that matters to me. With the Double JJ ranch being forclosed on anyhow, I find it hard to beleive a huge corp. would even let that happen based on how much money that fest pulled in last weekend. $17million is alot to me and you, but not to a huge corp, so if there is no Rothbury next year, it's because they DIDN'T have the backing of a major sponser/corp. ALSO--I have no idea what the hell your talking about in regard to the Cabins and walkway comment. Please explain.

I'm sorry I hate criticizing articles, but this piece of writing on the best fest of the summer was simply misleading and and downright awful. The shows that this writer hit were some of the worst of the fest. He missed so much of the greatest shows, RRE, CIT COPE, GREENSKY, and then ragging on WSP's percussion and Phil's show being "boring," what? What the hell is going on, maybe if you would have side-stepped shows like Of Montreal you would have saw a few of the more positive shows of the fest. Man this fest had so many great things, the canoeing in the lake, the great weather, the chill cops, the great forest. I mean it was great but I couldn't even finish this article because it was so jumbled in wording, content, and overall flair for journalistic approach. D-

It basically boils down to the people that were NOT at ROTHBURY thought it either sucked or are upset because they missed out on a great music festival and the people that were there thought ROTHBURY was great.

I'll be back next year (if they have it again). Maybe they will find Karl?

The vibes were good all over, never ran into one person who wanted to do anything but have a good time and try to help everyone else do the same. I def. could have gone without seeing and hearing all those balloons, but other than that amazing. I agree with Sugaree Primus was awesome.
