They may be sick of it, but they do know it's one of those great, timeless songs. I saw Ashcroft open for Coldplay a few years back and he closed his set with "Bittersweet". The Verve probably curse the fame and attention that came from that song, both positive and negative...but every time I see Ashcroft, whether it's "Live 8" or "Live from Abbey Road Studios", he's still kickin' new life into "Bittersweet".

hells yeah! one of my favorite brit-rock bands putting out a new album! this is good news. for those not too familiar with them, check out 1995's A Northern Soul. it was reportedly written and recorded entirely under the influence of MDMA. regardless of whether it was or wasn't its a damn good album from a damn good band. my name here on jambase (the drugs dont work) is the name of a song from their 1997 album urban hymns, another fantastic album. cant wait for this one!!!

The Verve are gonna PANIC when they hear Widespread opening up for them in 2009. It'll be an expensive tour. Widespread Panic is icing on the cake with powerhouse material!!!!

The Verve is so respected but one of those evasive bands. Very cool stuff. The Verve are actually very psychedelic. I saw them at MSG in New York in April. There were more dope smokers and such than a Phish show. The band did a lot of extended jams. I guess they are sort of a jamband live, but studio stuff is more Coldplay.

the verve is one of the greatest bands...only "popping' out toward the end-

visit the band's older stuff :

storm in heaven,

northern soul,

verve ep

these are great records, and the band kills it live , one of the best shows I have ever seen.

go to the shows!
