The Oysterhead dates have finally been officially announced and it seems as though Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland are ready for world domination! The new album, The Grand Pecking Order, was recorded at Trey's Barn in Vermont in April and is due to hit stores on October 2. The first single, Mr. Oysterhead, will start getting radio play on September 5.

If you just can't wait to hear what these monsters of rock sound like, you can download their first single, Mr. Oysterhead, in it's entirety at their official website, as well as audio samples of Oz Is Ever Floating, Shadow Of A Man, and Wield The Spade.

A couple of special shows will take place in mid-September in the northeast: September 14 in New Haven, CT. with a intimate show at Toad's Place, and a special appearance at Irving Plaza the following night to headline the College Music Journal Music Marathon, scheduled to air on HBO in early October. Lucky Lake Trout will open those two shows.

Then on October 21, the tour will break loose in Seattle with shows following on the west coast through BC, Oregon and California before a two night stand at the Fillmore in Denver for Halloween. After a night off, the band will play several midwest shows before returning to the east. Fans will be happy to know that there will be an online tickeing lottery going on for six days only from August 24 through the 29th at Oysterhead Ticketing. Tickets will go on sale at midnight on Thursday night.

For all the tour dates, check the the Oysterhead tour page.
