Due to popular demand, Moon Boot Lover -- the seminal funk band of the
jam-groove scene, has re-released their first two recordings. Outer Space Action (1994) catapulted the band onto the burgeoning jam band scene with a spicy mix of funk, soul, rock and memorable songcraft. Featuring original drummer Alan Evans (Soulive), Owen Yost (bass) and the inimitable vocal stylings and crazed guitar work of Peter Prince, Moon Boot Lover inspired younger bands and contemporaries with their soulful groove.
Despite heavy national touring, Moon Boot Lover followed up the release just a year later with the live classic Live Down Deep (1995), featuring Evans on drums, bassist Jon Hawes, Peter Prince and Neil Evans (Soulive) on keys. This CD quickly became a "must have" for fans of the scene. Moon Boot Lover continued to tour and turn heads until the departure of the Evans brothers in 1997, at which point Peter Prince went into the studio and began seeking new crewmembers for the ongoing Moon Boot mission.
In 2000 Peter and Moon Boot Lover returned with a new offering, Back On Earth, which became an instant favorite in the Homegrown Music Network, and is still a staff pick. The release was followed-up by a tour, and in the Spring of 2001, Peter Prince-- The Moon Boot Lover-- embarked on a national solo tour in support of the legendary guitar virtuoso/ Dave Matthews collaborator Tim Reynolds. He is also mastering the unreleased 3rd edition of Moon Boot Lover, Catskill Martian Dogs, which features the Evans brothers and himself in a pre-Soulive organ trio setting. Now sporting a fresh new rhythm section, Moon Boot Lover, recently described as "Jimi Hendrix - meets - Al Green" will tour hard in the fall of 2001, turning music lovers onto the sound that inspired some of your current favorite bands.
