This is shaping up to be a pretty great fest. Not going but I gotta say, I love how waka has each band play 2 sets so you got a pretty good chance of catching all your favs. Robots v.s. dinosaurs is an awesome band name.

Kinda lame that some of the smaller acts only get one one hour set. Any new act at High Sierra gets at least 2 sets. Still, a lot of great bands in there. Salmon twice, thank goodness.

This is gonna be great... cant wait. O and just in case anyone out there still thinks wakarusa is a "police station"... they actually are going to SPECIAL LENGTHS to keep police OUT this year, just as they did last year. The only people getting busted this year will be the retards who don't know how to go to a festival and stay smart. Have great time everyone see you there!!

Wow all the late night shows are KILLER!

If only Lotus could switch with Future Rock, it would really ease my pain of having to miss most of Lotus for Everyone Orchestra (who were the best band at the fest last year). EOTO vs. Everyone Orchestra is another hard conflict to choose between..but these are the best late nights shows of any fest to date in my opinion. Ozrics, Everyone Orchestra, EOTO, Lotus. Mickey Hart will rock face on Sunday, and Panjea w/ Kang will be a good surprise of the fest.

Looks like a great time! I agree, it is really cool that some acts get two different set times so everyone can check them out. Be sure to check out the Macpodz and Oakhurst. Both bands are suuuuuch a great time!!!! Have fun everyone!!!!

Even if they are taking great lengths to keep cops out, that still doesn't stop them from setting up road blocks on the way in. They did this the last year I attended, as well as having homeland security testing out new equipment. That ruined it for me and I'm sure a lot of other people. This is a great site for a festival, but it's still in Kansas. Be safe, have fun, and drum the hell out of the septic tank!!!!!!!!!!!! Lotus late night should be sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Sunshineinyourface, you must be blinded by the light if your calling us custies. I think it might be going to your head and you just may have gone self righteous on all of us. Sorry everyone for the negativity, but its people this who somehow put themselves above everyone else that really burn me. YO Sunshine: so talk all the smack on Kansas or Lawrence for that matter but its my home and its a wonderful place with great people. im sure we could talk smack on where your from Sunshine but this is about positivity and we all come together from different places to raise consciousness so go home with that we dont need people like you around we have enough fun without you types. All the festivals have cops now even the most sacred High Sierra I was there almost 6 straight years and the cops were sometimes worse then at waka. If your going to go to a festival be smart and conscience. and oh yeah I think we won the National Championship so get ready to rage it with the Jayhawks cause we know how to party!! your so wrong about cops being at lots of fest maybe the commercial fest you hit up but for the most part it should be private security which most are another thing why throw a fest in a state park ? private land is key seams waka is all about making the $$ in more ways than one with john law's hand in your pocket also sorry i wont forget or forgive what i saw / went threw that yearand there was road blocks coming west on as soon as you got off the exit running peoples info excellent line up a shame they wont move this festival i might come back

kansas sucks. this lineup sucks. the police in kansas suck. i love being negitive, but id rather stay at home and watch re runs of 90210 than drive 8 hours through a state that shouldnt be there. how much easier would it be to drive across the country if you didnt have to deal with kansas.!!

and mcgrupp, KU should be good at basketball!! what else is there to do in kansas besides play basketball and do meth. you could talk smack about colorado if you want to, but your from kansas!!

I Hate Kansas like all of you, but Lawrence is a haven which has a lot of love inside. But some of the acts are awesome, and everyone should have a good time. So stop all the hate about dissing Kansas and the festi...if you're not going why bother talking smack?

I lived in L-town for 5 years, been to every Waka, but will not be flying back for this one. Lineup is weak (and Flaming Lips suck, so rebooking them was rather disappointing), plus no Pnuma.

As far as the cops are concerned, this was only a problem ONE YEAR. And you had to be a f'n idiot to get arrested. I knew hundreds of people there, and NONE of them got busted for ANYTHING. Like I said, only IDIOTS got arrested. If you are smart about what you are doing, you will have no problem. Last years security was virtually non-existent again, as it will be this year.

The whole 3-2 beer thing does suck though

I have multiple friends who went last year and said it went off without a hitch and cops were scarce within the festival grounds... Im not defending Kansas but just saying...

i'm sorry, but i would never say eoto "tears shit up", i have liked some of their shit but this is a basic summary of what they do: start a beat, add guitar, repeat groove for 10 minutes, jam something cool for ONE min flat, then continue into next elevator groove. they have even been known to do this for up to 3 hours.
