well, I may be incorrect, but I am a Robert Walter addict.

this is not 20th congress. thats a band from 200-2001.

this is James Singleton on bass, Johnny Vidocovich on drums

the new album is called CURE ALL. with this lineup.

20th Congress is Cochemea Gastulum, on sax, chris stillwell on bass, chuck prada on percussion, and others. May want to change this story line, because 20th congress is one of his older bands..

Monday night Little Featrocked at Tipitinas. The Dragonsmoke was pretty great. It was a small venue on and had decent sound as well. I just remember holding on to a joint all night and then the encore or last song in set 2 was "Dont Bogart that Joint", classic. What wasn't classic was my friend and a stranger being tossed from the House Of Rules five minutes into Umphreys second set performance on Friday for similar crimes of the mind. However Thursday was a glorious start to the weekend for me. The night before we were engaging in some smoking on the street when we met two kind people handing out to flyers to Global Noize on Thursday night. Later that night they slipped off their bracelets and treated us to a free set of a sold out Soulive at the One Eyed Jack,. THey also told me to spread the rumor that Vida Blue would be reuniting. AsI walked into the Howling Wolf Page was coming on to the stage. Vida Blue did play "Most Events arent Planned" and I believe two more, by now mymind was in a different planetary zone. Then at some point Mike Gordon emerges and we have a full n party!! No Phish material was played but it was great nontheless. The Global Noize was a different kind of trip, they thanked the crowd for the open mindedness and I'll say it was bizarre. Truly Global in scope they brought out Faluk or Faloun something like that twice and she basically took you on a Bali trip to a whole other dimension. The crowd was told to partake and we enjoyed to the fullest. Just when it couldnt get any better Govt Mule blew my mind!!!!! And Grace Potter as well, people need to recognize the depth of that girls soul. She sang "Big White Gates" Saturday night dedicating it t her grandfather who had passed away that day. Really powerful material. Warren was just throwing it down Friday night opening with "Smokestack lightning", that what love will make you do, death dont have no mercy, ect. THe second set was epic with Mike Gordon for Loser Terrapin Loser then into "Im a Ram", just too sweet. I walk on Gilded Splinters with Papa Mali was great too. The whole show was just unreal, mindblowing music. The crowd was primed for the party and Saturday lived up to the hype in my mind. The Sneaking Sally was a blast and made me think again of the Page and Mike I had just witnessed on thursday. I cant even describe the power of the music these 2 days. The mule is the best thing going today.
