Roger Waters' Pig Found In Front Yards

Following up on our story from yesterday (see below), Roger Waters' helium filled pig was found after floating off from his Coachella performance. Two different couples found pieces of the pig in their La Quinta, CA yards, a few miles away from the Coachella Festival grounds.

The Coachella organizers had offered a reward of $10,000 and four tickets for life to the festival, the two families will split the booty. The pig featured the words "Don't be led to the slaughter" and a cartoon depiction of Uncle Sam clutching two bloody cleavers. The other side read "Fear builds walls" and the belly of the beast read "Obama" with a checked ballot box for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Look out for Pigs On The Wing...

COACHELLA ORGANIZERS OFFER $10,000 REWARD AND 4 FESTIVAL TICKETS FOR LIFE
IN EXCHANGE FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF THE INFLATABLE PIG THAT ESCAPED DURING ROGER WATERS' SET

COACHELLA organizers are offering $10,000 and four festival tickets for life in exchange for the safe return of the two-story inflatable pig that broke loose during Roger Waters' set on the final night (Sunday, April 27) of the 2008 COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL. The pig escaped and floated into the desert sky just prior to the intermission between Roger Waters' back-to-back sets - marking the only back-to-back COACHELLA sets by one artist in the critically acclaimed festival's history.

Anyone with information on the lost pig, should email lostpig@coachella.com.

It was bound to happen eventually. They should check Peter Frampton's house. Didn't he pick the pig up at Pink Floyd's garage sale in the "Homerpalooza" episode? "Homer Simpson ruins my pig, Cypress Hill steals my orchestra, and now Sonic Youth is in my cooler." Good luck, Roger.

This is a total publicity stunt. There is no way that pig costs more than $10,000. I saw Water's at the Hollywood Bowl in Oct. 06 and he used a completely different pig. If I found it I would keep it.

hrmmmm .... i smell a- ..nevermind. at shoreline, roger also seemed to have lost his pig. after floating over the audience for the last song of the first set, it started rising and didn't stop until it was a tiny little dot in the mountain view, ca sky, and then it was gone. i was definitely in a little over my head at that point (hippie-flip anyone?), but it definitely happened. remote controlled? sounds like a good coachella publicity stunt. how many poor souls are scouring the palm desert, meanwhile roger has moved on to the next stop .... awesome.

I saw Roger at the (insert corperate name here) in Holmdel,N.J. two years ago and they let the pig go,intentionaly.

We were on the lawn and some roadies walked it thru the crowd in the pavillion with guide wires,or ropes,or whatever. They continued outside to the lawn and let it go,and then followed it with spotlights, pretty much until it was out of sight. So I have to agree with hardingmr, that it is a publicity stunt. If they are getting ten grand for that pig, then I'm in the wrong business.

Great....This just adds to the food shortage for you dead-animal eaters and will drive food prices up higher. It was damn windy over the weekend so the pig is probably already in Florida. But seriously....

If Americans cut back there dead-animal intake by 10%, we could feed all the starving people in the world.

"OG graf head Slick did up this giant inflatable pig for Roger Waters for Sunday Night's Coachella show." It was actually a pretty nice tag job. One of a kind, which may justify dishing out that much loot to bring back the proverbial bacon.

But yeah, they'll get that back when pigs fly!

But I guess even a blind pig finds a truffle once in a while.

Maybe try calling for it in pig latin.

$10k and tickets for life? I'd put it up on e-bay. I bet you could get at least $20k. THat is if the "finders-keepers" rule applies in Cali.

I was at the show standing at the fence where the aisle was...I watched the guys pulling the pig around the crowd and then let it go, intentionally, at the end of the song! All the guys who were pulling that damn thing cheered that they had released it with the right timing...

So, I am not sure of what to make of this story...hmmm...maybe they just don't want to litter? :)

Looks like the pig got it in the end.

I love the line, "As tall as a two-story house and as wide as two school buses, the pig was led from lines held on the ground Sunday as Waters played a version of Pink Floyd's "Pigs" from the 1977 anti-capitalist album "Animals.""

Who wrote this article? Joseph Engles and Karl Marx? I think by he time of Animals, the Floyd were well practiced at "capitalism".

The Roger Watters pig broke loose in Tampa too!!!! Amazing but true, it happened last year, thankfully it got jammed up against the shed roof and then sorta collapsed, but I tell ya that pig was free, if only for 15 minutes (kinda distracting really, but it could have taken off with one big gust)
