The Secret Machines Finish New Record, Debut Songs at Upcoming Shows!
New York City's Secret Machines have completed their upcoming third full length record, which will be released late summer. Recording was completed with producer/engineer Brandon Mason (David Bowie and VHS OR BETA) at the Magic Shop Studio in New York.
The Secret Machines will be debuting new material from their forthcoming record during their East Coast run of shows and festivals. Starting with a show on April 28 at Philadelphia's North Star Bar and ending on May 4 at Pearl Street in Northampton, MA. During this time the band will be performing songs that will appear on the record including: "Last Believer Drop Dead" and "The Fire is Waiting." Already hosted on YouTube was a sampling from another track called "Now You're Gone" which was recorded during the bands sound check during their New York City residency before recording began. This song has already received much praise for its melodic, delayed and beautiful sound.
Joining the group is newest member, guitarist Phil Karnats who replaced Benjamin Curtis after an amicable exit from the group late last year. Karnats joins the Machines from Dallas, TX where he appeared in bands with bandmate Josh Garza and played in groups such as Tripping Daisy and the Polyphonic Spree.
Also, the Machines will be performing alongside Modest Mouse and John Mayer at this year's Rothbury Festival in Kalamazoo, MI on July 5 as well as Cold Play and Tom Petty at the Pemberton Festival in British Columbia on July 25. Finally, the band will play alongside Cat Power and Jack Johnson at the All Points West Festival in New York City on August 10.
