David Bowie To Release Live 1972 Recording

Ziggy Stardust
On June 30, David Bowie will release a live album from 1972. The record will feature eighteen songs from the Ziggy Stardust U.S. tour at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on October 20, 1972. The album will be available as a CD and double 12" vinyl in the U.K.

Speaking with NME, Bowie said, "This would be around the tenth American show for us and you can hear that we are all pretty high on ourselves. We train wreck a couple of things, I miss some words and sometimes you wouldn't know that pianist Mike Garson was onstage with us but overall I really treasure this bootleg. Mick Ronson is at his blistering best."

Sweet indeed. Can only imagine how overwrought the "Rock 'N' Roll Suicide" will be!

A high quality SBD of this show has been released a number of times before by bootleg companies, I got it on OINK a couple of years ago. Great show.

Oh snap. Mick Ronson's guitar solo on Moonage Daydream is the best guitar solo of all time. Yes, I said that, bring it on. It only gets nastier in his live versions. Bowie is the greatest.

Classic Bowie out the wazoo! Glad to see props for Mick Ronson, as Billy Gibbons would say, he had: "The tone, the taste, and the tenacity."
